Abstract

UKGS is a program that aims to improve the level of dental and oral health of school students. Teacher interest and knowledge are factors in the existence of the UKGS program in schools because interest is preceded by knowledge of the intended object, while interest is a desire accompanied by an action. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of teachers' interest and knowledge of the UKGS program. This descriptive study involved a population of 35 teachers, with the sample selected through total sampling. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires. The results indicate that 82.9% of respondents have a very high level of interest in the UKGS program, and 17.1% have a high level of interest. In terms of knowledge about the UKGS program, 65.7% of teachers fall into the good category, 20% into the moderate category, and 14.3% into the low category. The data indicate that most teachers have high interest and good knowledge of the UKGS program. This is attributed to the teachers' strong desire and awareness to improve students' dental and oral health, the ease of accessing various information resources, and their work experience.

Abstract

Pregnancy brings many changes to pregnant women. Pregnant women, if not handled properly, can have a negative impact on the health of the mother and baby, especially on the health of the oral cavity. Unkempt teeth contain harmful bacteria. These bacteria are toxins that easily enter the genital tract through the blood vessels and a bacterial infection occurs which causes inflammation in the uterine tract and can attack the unborn fetus which has the risk that fetal growth and development can be inhibited and disrupted. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of pregnant women about oral health and their behavior during pregnancy. This type of research is quantitative through a Cross Sectional research design, namely conducting research at the same time to connect the independent variables and the dependent variables studied on the sample and the specified population. The sample amounted to 41 respondents of pregnant women in the first, second and third trimester. This research was conducted at the Rancaekek Health Center DTP Bandung Regency in January - March 2024. This study used instruments in the form of questionnaires of Knowledge Level and Behavior. Data analysis used was Chi-Square (chi square <0.05). The results of this study found that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the oral health behavior of pregnant women during pregnancy. This can be caused by pregnant women who have knowledge related to oral health, and they apply it in their daily lives (already maintaining oral health during pregnancy according to their knowledge).

Abstract

Dental and oral health is often ignored by people, resulting in various dental and oral diseases. One of the factors that influences this is a lack of knowledge about maintaining oral health. Efforts to maintain healthy teeth and mouth must be made from early childhood. The right media to provide this education is using Power Point. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of developing power point educational media on the level of knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance in class 3 at SDN Leles 02, Garut Regency. The method in this research uses quantitative methods. The type of research used is pre-experimental with a one group pre test post test design. Samples were taken using a total sampling technique with a sample size of 30 respondents. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study show a p value = 0.000, meaning there is a significant influence between before and after being given education regarding maintaining oral health using power point media. Providing education using PowerPoint is effective for children in increasing knowledge of maintaining oral health.

Abstract

Dental caries is one of the most common diseases in Indonesian society, both in adults and children. The common form of caries that mostly affects children under the age of five is referred to as rampant caries. Maternal ignorance about proper dental care in children is one of the factors in the onset of rampant caries in children. Maternal knowledge and efforts towards children's dental and oral hygiene have a significant influence on children's attitudes and behaviors that will complete children's dental health in the future. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge and efforts to prevent caries rampant in pre-school children at Bimba AIUEO Subang. Analytic research with cross-sectional design method. In Bimba AIUEO Subang, 60 people, including 30 mothers and 30 children, participated in the sampling process. The results showed that mothers' knowledge about caries rampant was found to be in the good category, caries rampant cases most children did not experience caries rampant and mothers' efforts in preventing caries rampant were found to be in the good category. The research hypothesis was tested using the Fisher Exact test showing a p value = 0.007 (p <0.05). The relationship between maternal knowledge is proven to have an effect on efforts to prevent caries rampant in pre-school children. Increasing maternal knowledge and efforts to care for children's teeth plays an important role in preventing caries rampant by familiarizing children to always maintain dental health and dental hygiene.
