Abstract

Calligraphy as a branch of art that has long roots, origins and history, besides having many kinds that show artistic peaks that attract attention because of their prowess, in Indonesia, calligraphy was present in line with the entry of Islam through trade routes in the 7th century M, then spread to remote parts of the archipelago around the 12th century AD. The method used is This research is included in qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Data sources are data from journals, library research methods with discussions about calligraphy (khat). Data collection techniques were carried out in three ways, namely: data collection, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that Learning Calligraphy at Modern Islamic Boarding Schools uses many methods such as the lecture method, demonstration method, question and answer method, drill/assignment method, SAS method. , Field Trip Methods and Methods of Training and Practice.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the urgency of calligraphy in Islamic education. In Islamic education, calligraphy is one of the important components in developing students' character. This is seen in the use of calligraphy to teach and assist students in producing scholarly works that reflect an awareness and deep understanding of Islamic teachings.The method used is a literature study, by collecting data from books, previous research results, journals, and related articles. The results of the study show that calligraphy has a very clear urgency in Islamic education, both in terms of aesthetics and spirituality. Calligraphy art is not only a form of visual art, but also a means to understand and respect the Qur'an. Therefore, the integration of calligraphy in Islamic education is very important to enrich the understanding and appreciation of religious teachings. In addition, Calligraphy is very important in Islamic art because it is a form of “embodiment” of the holy words of Allah SWT.

Abstract

Beauty or often known as aesthetics is not only in the form of carvings or shapes in a painting, but in the art of calligraphy, writing has its own beauty which has meaning in every writing written by a calligrapher. This research aims to find out how the art of calligraphy is from an art philosophy perspective. The research method used is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of this research are that the philosophy of art views calligraphy as a means of conveying meaning, beauty and spiritual feelings through the form, space and style of writing chosen. In fact, calligraphy is often valued for its ability to combine visual beauty with philosophical or religious meaning.
