Abstract

Sports activities or physical exercise is useful as a controlling blood sugar levels and weight loss inpeople with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the factors associated with sportsactivities of people with diabetes mellitus. The design of this research is descriptive correlation andCross Sectional approach. The sample of this research was 47 respondents taken based on theinclusion criteria by using purposive sampling technique. The measuring tools used arequestionnaires that have been tested Valid and Reliabel. The analysis used is univariate analysis toknow the frequency distribution and bivariate to know the correlation (correlation) using Chi-Squaretest. The result of the research shows that there is a correlation of knowledge with sports activity ofdiabetes mellitus patient (p value 0.000 <α 0,05), no attitude relation with sport activity of diabetesmellitus patient (p value = 0.317> α 0,05) with activity of diabetes mellitus (p value = 0,114> α 0,05)and no relation of family support to sport activity of diabetes mellitus patient (p value = 0.359> α0,05). Based on this research, it is suggested to people with diabetes mellitus to be able to increasetheir knowledge about the importance of sports activity in the management of diabetes mellitus and tohealth center as health facility to provide continuous information about sport activity and to makesport activity program useful in diabetes mellitus management.Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, related factors, sports activities

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic desease which is identified by hyperglycemia condition and may increase the risk of microvascular and macrovascular complications due to neuropathy. The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze the grade of diabetic foot ulcer based on Meggitt-Wagner system towards the diabetes mellitus sufferers who got diabetic foot ulcer in hospitalization in RSUD Arifin Achmad hospital. The methode of this research was observational analitic with cross sectional design. The samples was taken by total sampling. This study observed a number of 37 diabetic patient in hospitalization with diabetic foot ulcer. There were 37 patient in hospitalization with diabetic foot ulcer in RSUD Arifin Achmad hospital on July 2018. Observation was to identifiy dan analyze grade of diabetic foot ulcer based on characteristic of Meggitt-Wagner system. The result showed majority characteristics of respondents of diabetic foot ulcer were female 26 (70,3%), 56-65 yeras old 17 (45,9%), and duration of history of diabetic less than 5 years 15 (40,5%). The Result of identification and analysis grade of diabetic foot ulcer showed that majority were in the grade 1 with superficial wounds characteristic. Recommended for patients to controll blood glucose and treat wounds and feet to preventing advanced complications. Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months to meet the nutritional needs of infants have an important role to the nutritional status of infants. The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding toward infant’s nutritional status for 6 to 12 months in Payung Sekaki Health Center working area. This study was descriptive correlation with cross sectional approach. The samples in this study were mothers and infants from 6 to 12 months with 94 respondents by using cluster sampling technique. The analyzes were univariate and bivariate using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The results showed that the majority of respondents were 6-month-old as much as 23.4% with normal birth weight of 96.9%. Maternal age was early adult as much as 86,2% with high school education as much as 72,3%. 69.1% of mothers did not work. The history of exclusive breastfeeding as much as 54.3% and babys nutritional status is in normal nutrition as much as 85.1%. The results of the analysis showed that infants with a history of exclusive breastfeeding tend to have normal nutritional status of 92.2% more than malnutrition and overweight.   Based on the results of statistical tests it showed that there was no relationship between history of exclusive breastfeeding toward infant’s nutritional status for 6 to 12 months (p value = 0.868). The results of this study recommend health workers to provide health education about exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months.   Keywords: Exclusive breastfeeding, infant, nutritional status.
