Abstract

The quality of the asphalt mixture was influenced by using the type and arrangement of aggregate, asphalt and, filler. Filler Stone ash, fly ash is commonly used in asphalt mixtures. However, these fillers are hard to find and not cheap. Candlenut shell ash (CSA) is expected to be an alternative. This research was conduct to evaluate the effect of using CSA as filler substitution on Marshall characteristics of the AC-BC mixture. The research method begins with making test samples with variations in asphalt percentage to obtain optimum asphalt content for each percentage of CSA substitution to the weight of filler in the mixture, which is 0%, 10%, and 20%. Research results show that the highest stability value is obtained when using 20% CSA, which is 2,373.06 kg. The increase of the percentage of CSA in the asphalt mixture causes the VIM and flow values to decrease, while the VFA and MQ increase. density and VMA values did not change significantly. The highest durability value was obtained at 20% CSA, which was 101.8%.

Abstract

AbstractThe most noticeable change during the COVID-19 pandemic was that fewer people travel from one place to another unless it was very urgent. This was mainly driven by the government's instruction not to carry out activities outside the home except for vehicles transporting goods. The government appeal decreases public transportation operations and reduces the income of public transportation service providers. This study aimed to determine and analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on public transportation (passengers and goods) from Aceh Barat to Medan. The descriptive quantitative method was used in this research. Data collection was carried out through direct surveys and questionnaires, which were randomly distributed to public transport drivers (passengers/goods) at the passenger and freight terminals during working hours. The survey data were analyzed using multiple linear analyses with the help of SPSS software to observe the influence of the independent variable (X) on public transportation (passengers/goods) during the pandemic (Y). The results obtained from the analysis indicated that there are several equations obtained, the equation for passenger transportation: Y1 = 0.298 - 0.770X1 + 0.113X6 and the equation for freight transportation: Y2 = 0.113 + 0.546 X3 + 0.338 X6. From this equation, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the amount of income (X1), travel time (X3), and expenditure costs (X6) on the impact on public transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Keywords— Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Passenger Transport, Goods Transport

Abstract

The quality of the asphalt mixture is very dependent on the composition of aggregate, asphalt and filler being used. The usual filler used in asphalt mixture is stone and ash fly ash. however, this filler is difficult to obtain and expensive. The palm oil shell ash (POSA) is expected to become the alternative. In addition, polimer modified asphalt can be used to improve the quality of asphalt mixtures. The polimer used was plastic wastes such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) and polypropylene (PP). this research aims to find out the use of POSA as filler and combination of plastic substitution into asphalt pen. 60/70 on AC-WC mixture. Manufacturing test object without and with the combination of plastic substitution amounted to 2.7%, 4.7%, 6.7% against the weight of asphalt on OAC ± 0.5% without and with filler POSA. The results showed that the use of plastic combination and filler POSA on AC-WC mixture can improve Marshall parameter value, especially the value of stability and MQ. The highest stability and MQ value obtained in 6.7% plastic combination with filler POSA on 5.81% asphalt content were at 2318.99 kg and 889.57 kg/mm. VIM and VMA value tended to increase by increasing plastics percentage into the asphalt and the use of POSA, whereas the values of density, VFA, and flow tend to decrease. The durability value of AC-WC mixture without and with plastic combination had met requirement, at ≥ 90%, while the use of ACKS as filler does not meet the requirements. Keywords: Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course, POSA, Modified Asphalt, Plastic Waste Combination.

Abstract

Abstract: The cause of damage and strength reduction on highway flexible pavement is the low strength and durability on the wear layer. To cope with this problem, it is necessary to add some particular additive that can increase the asphalt concrete performance. One of the additional material that can be used are plastic. Stone ash, cement and fly ash has been commonly used as a filler in asphalt mixture. But these kind of filler was hard to get and the price were relatively expensive. The palm oil shell ash wich has a specific grafity greater than asphalt is expected to be one alternative. This research aims to determine the influence of plastic waste combination substitution into the asphalt pen. 60/70 and the use of palm oil shell ash as filler on AC-WC mixture performance. The plastic used in this research is polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene and polystyrene. The early stages of this research is to find the optimum asphalt content (OAC). After OAC obtained, then the specimens were mixed without and with the combination substitution of plastic waste as much as 2.7%; 4.7%; 6.7% against the weight of  asphalt on OAC + 0.5% with and without the palm oil shell ash as a filler. The study results showed the use of plastic waste combination and the palm oil shell ash can improve the durability value. The highest value of durability obtained at 6.7% combination substitution of plastic waste, it was 111.36%, while the lowest value which found on the use of palm oil shells ash filler was 83.61%. The durability value of AC-WC mixture with and without plastic waste combination substitution had met the requirement, those were 90%, while the use of palm oil shells ash as filler does not meet the requirements.Abstrak: Penyebab kerusakan dan penurunan kekuatan perkerasan lentur jalan raya adalah rendahnya kekuatan dan keawetan di dalam lapisan aus. Untuk menanggulangi hal ini dibutuhkan suatu bahan tambah yang dapat meningkatkan lapis aspal beton. Salah satu bahan tambah yang dapat di gunakan adalah plastik. Abu batu, semen dan fly ash sudah biasa digunakan sebagai filler dalam campuran aspal. Tetapi, jenis filler tersebut susah didapatkan dan harganya relatif mahal. Abu cangkang kelapa sawit yang memiliki berat jenis lebih besar dari aspal, diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatifnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai durabilitas campuran AC-WC menggunakan kombinasi limbah plastik dan abu cangkang kelapa sawit. Plastik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Polyethylene Terephthalate, Polypropylene dan Polystyrene. Tahap awal penelitian ini adalah mencari kadar aspal optimum (KAO). Setelah KAO didapat kemudian dilakukan pembuatan benda uji tanpa dan dengan substitusi kombinasi limbah plastik sebesar 2,7%; 4,7%; 6;7% terhadap berat aspal pada KAO + 0,5% tanpa dan dengan abu cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai filler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan kombinasi limbah plastik dapat meningkatkan nilai durabilitas. Nilai durabilitas tertinggi didapat pada substitusi kombinasi limbah plastik 6,7% yaitu 111,36% sedangkan yang terendah terdapat pada penggunaan filler abu cangkang kelapa sawit yaitu 83.61%. Nilai Durabilitas campuran AC-WC tanpa dan dengan substitusi kombinasi limbah plastik memenuhi syarat yaitu 90%, sedangkan penggunaan abu cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai filler tidak memenuhi persyaratan.

Abstract

As among the ten most spoken languages, Acehnese inevitably has many varieties. Many previous studies on Acehnese have been heavily conducted on the northern varieties of Acehnese, leaving other Acehnese varieties unexplored. Pase dialect of Acehnese has been described to have oral and nasal monophthongs and diphthongs, but no studies on Aceh Barat dialect phonetic features of Acehnese have been made. Aceh Barat dialect has also been stigmatized as being rough and vulgar in the previous study. Thus, the current study aims to explore the instrumental analysis of Acehnese oral monophthongs by Aceh Barat speakers. Three male speakers (aged 35-50 years old) speaking only Acehnese as the local language participated in the current study. The ten Acehnese words used to target the ten phonemes were adapted from study. A total of 90 tokens of Acehnese oral vowels production were analyzed using PRAAT version 6.1.29. The oral monophthongs of the Aceh Barat dialect are generally similar to the previous study on the Pase dialect. Exception emerges for the vowel /ʌ/ and /ə/, which seems to be produced differently across the speakers. Both vowels appear to stretch further down the vowel space closer to the back vowels /u/ and / ɔ/, respectively.

Abstract

The value of travel time becomes an important part of the gains in the assessment of a transport project in terms of economic considerations. In this research, the calculation of the value of travel time for users of private vehicles in Banda Aceh. Purposes of calculating the value of travel time is to vote as a result of a wasted opportunity when used to produce something as a result of traveling purposes. Of the various methods that can be used to determine the value of travel time method selection transport modes (mode choice approach) with a stated preference survey data is either to be used in determining the value of time based on the use of public transport (labi-labi) as the second choice , but taken one more method is the method of income (income approach) as a comparison. As for the results in this study is the comparison of both methods is the method of choice of transport modes (mode choice approach) and method of income (income approach) to obtain the value of travel time for users of private vehicles in the city of Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemanfaatan prasarana jalan sesuai dengan rencana pembangunan jalan, maka perlu dilakukan usaha-usaha pemeliharaan dan penanganan yang harus direncanakan dengan baik terhadap jalan yang rusak. Kerusakan jalan disebabkan antara lain oleh lalu lintas berulang, muatan berlebih, suhu udara, air serta mutu awal produk jalan yang jelek. Tujuan penilitian ini untuk mengetahui jenis kerusakan dan tingkat kerusakan jalan pada jalan Ujong Beurasok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode bina marga. Langkah awal penelitian  ini menghitung lalu lintas harian rata-rata dan mengelompokkan data hasil survei sesuai dengan jenis kerusakan jalan. Selanjutnya menilai dan menjumlahkan setiap jenis kerusakan jalan. Lalu menetapkan nilai kondisi jalan dan menghitung nilai prioritas kondisi jalan. Hasil penelitian kerusakan jalan didapatkan jenis kerusakan jalan yaitu pelempasan butir sebanyak 11 buah dengan luas 4.185.924 cm2 (13,29%), retak kulit buaya sebanyak 13 buah dengan luas 353.185,5 cm2 (1,121%), retak pinggir sebanyak 3 buah dengan luas 104.400 cm2 (0,331%), retak memanjang sebanyak 1 buah dengan luas 2000 cm2 (0,006%), tambalan  sebanyak 12 buah dengan luas 244.221 cm2 (0,775%) dan lubang sebanyak 14 buah dengan luas 193.293,74 cm2 (0,613%) dan volume 1.082.898,56 cm3. Dari hasil perhitungan Urutan Prioritas didapat nilai sebesar 8 menanda bahwa jalan Ujung Beurasok Kecamatan Johan Pahlawan STA 0+000 s/d 0+700 dapat dimasukan kedalam program pemeliharaan rutin. Kata kunci : Kerusakan Jalan, Metode Bina Marga Abstract : The utilization of road infrastructures in accordance with road development plans requires maintenance and handling efforts that must be planned well against the damaged roads. Road damage is caused by the repeated traffic, overload, air temperature, water, and the initial quality of the poor road product. This research aims to determine the type of damage and damage level of road on Ujong Beurasok Road. The method used in this research is the method of Bina Marga. The initial step of the study calculated average daily traffic and grouped the survey result data according to the type of road damage. Type of road damage are graded and summed. The road condition value is set, and the priority value of the road condition is calculated. The damagaes found are 11 sections of loose grain with an area 4.185.924 cm2 (13.29%), 13 sections of alligator cracking with an area of 353.185,5 cm2 (1.121%), 3 sections of cracked edges with an area of 104.400 cm2 (0.331%), 1 elongated crack with an area of 2000 cm2 (0.006%), 12 sections of patch with an area of 244,221 cm2 (0.775%) and 14 pieces of holes with an area of 193.293,74 cm2 (0.613%) and the volume of 1.082.898,56 cm3. The calculation of priority order obtained the value of 8 indicating that Beurasok Road of Johan Pahlawan district STA 0 + 000 S/D 0 + 700 should be considered in the routine maintenance program.Keywords: Road damage, Bina Marga method

Abstract

Mapping is a very important part of the work in the field of development, especially in modern times. Accurate and good mapping will also produce good data, so that it can be used as a reference in the field of development both in small, medium and large scale. Therefore, in carrying out the mapping, the tools used should be able to apply the correct measurement techniques. The total station is one of the tools used in the mapping. The total station is a digital device capable of measuring distances and angles simultaneously and can record data electronically. This mapping aims to map a plot of land with the output produced in the form of a topographic map of the Teuku Umar Integrated School Complex (STTU), West Aceh Regency. The measurement method uses Sokkia Total Station Type CX 103 using a prism and data processing uses PC-CDU software, SOKKIA Link SOKKIA Tools, and Land Desktop. The measurement results obtained the original land surface elevation data with an area of 8645 m2. The lowest point of the land surface is at P9 point with an elevation of 2.01 m. This is because the area is a swampy area. While the highest ground level elevation is at the BM point with an elevation of 3.00 m. This is because the area is a hilly land surface. Pemetaan merupakan bagian pekerjaan yang sangat penting pada bidang pembangunan, khususnya di zaman modern ini. Pemetaan yang akurat dan baik akan menghasilkan data-data yang baik pula, sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam bidang pembangunan baik dalam skala kecil, menengah maupun besar. Oleh karena itu, dalam melaksanakan pemetaan hendaknya menggunakan alat yang mampu mengaplikasikan teknik-teknik pengukuran yang benar. Total station merupakan salah satu alat yang digunakan dalam pemetaan tersebut. Total station merupakan alat digital yang mampu mengukur jarak dan sudut secara sekaligus dan dapat merekam data secara elektronik. Pemetaan ini bertujuan untuk memetakan suatu bidang tanah dengan output yang dihasilkan berupa peta topografi Komplek Sekolah Terpadu Teuku Umar (STTU) Kabupaten Aceh Barat. Metode pengukuran menggunakan alat Total Station Sokkia Tipe CX 103 dengan menggunakan prisma dan pengolahan data menggunakan software PC-CDU, SOKKIA Link SOKKIA Tools, dan Land Dekstop. Hasil pengukuran didapatkan data elevasi permukaan tanah asli dengan luas 8645 m2. Titik terendah permukaan tanah berada pada titik P9 dengan elevasi 2,01 m. Hal ini disebabkan pada daerah tersebut merupakan daerah rawa-rawa. Sedangkan elevasi tertinggi permukaan tanah berada pada titik BM dengan Elevasi 3,00 m. Hal ini disebabkan pada daerah tersebut merupakan permukaan tanah yang berbukit.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of asphalt mixture can be done by modifying the asphalt. Materials that can be used to modify asphalt include plastic waste, waste tires, rubber latex, and gum resin. In this research, the modified material used is gum resin at 4% of the weight of the asphalt in the mixture as a substitute material. This research aims to determine the impact of using gum resin on the asphalt concrete-binder course (AC-BC) mixture on Marshall parameters. The method used is by conducting experiments in the laboratory starting with the search for the optimum asphalt content (OAC) either using gum resin or not as a comparison asphalt mixture. After obtaining the KAO values ​​from the two types of mixtures, the next step is to make samples using 4% gum resin on OAC to be compared with samples of asphalt mixture in OAC without using gum resin.. Research results show that the use of asphalt-modified material in the form of gum resin powder has been able to achieve the value of the Marshall parameter requirements set. A substantial difference in this research is in the stability value, where the asphalt mixture using gum resin is obtained at 2380.48 kg, while the asphalt mixture without gum resin is obtained at 2143.92 kg. The durability value of the mixture using gum resin was obtained at 96.88%, and the durability value of the mixture without gum resin was obtained at 97.02%. It shows that the use of gum resin as a modified asphalt material can produce a mixture of asphalt that is stronger in accepting vehicle wheel loads and can withstand changes in temperature and weather as indicated by the results of a durability value greater than 90%.

Abstract

AbstractThe ups and downs of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia have caused economic, educational, and social aspects of public lives to experience a decline. Changes in community activity patterns are a warning for the central and regional government to bring public lives back to normal. Such effort can be seen in the government issuing policies regarding preventive measures to suppress the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. One kind of such policy is the regulation of Domestic Travelers (PPDN). This policy certainly has positive and negative impacts on both the users and providers of transportation services. The purpose of this study is to see the impact of the regulations applied on the characteristics of service users in choosing the mode of transportation. The alternative modes of transportation used in this study are public, private and air transportation. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method by distributing questionnaires to the target samples. The data were then processed and analyzed using a multinomial logit model approach through STATA 13 software to obtain the probability of each mode of transportation. The results show that there were several factors that influence the choice of transportation modes, the amount of income (X1), type of work (X4), gender (X3), cost (X2), travel time (X6) and comfort (X7). The probabilities of the three selected modes of transportation were Ppublic transportation = 56.07%, Pair freight = 34.54 % and Pprivate transport = 6.08%. The results indicate that the more demanding mode of transportation was the land transportation (public transportation).Keywords: Mode of Transportation, COVID-19, Logit Model, PPDN.
