Abstract

The research aims to develop students' reading comprehension skills through the use of online magazines. The choice of online magazines as a source of student reading is because now students prefer to use electronic devices such as cellphones or laptops. The use of online magazines in primary school students can be an effort to instill digital literacy. This study uses a pre-experimental method with Post-test only with Nonequivalent Groups. The study population was grade IV students in the city of Cimahi while the selected sample of 28 students used the convenience technique. Meanwhile, the data collection technique uses a reading comprehension skills test and a digital literacy level questionnaire. Researchers conducted data analysis with inference statistics through the SPSS 20.0 program. The results indicated that the reading skills of group A students' understanding were better than those of group B. The researchers concluded that the online magazine had an effect on reading comprehension skills of grade IV students.

Abstract

Entering the digital age all information cannot be selectively displayed. Freedom in the digital age can affect the behavior patterns of students whether positive behavior or negative behavior. In an effort to prevent the emergence of negative behavior in students, it requires an environment that shapes good behavior such as prosocial behavior. Prosocial behavior really needs to be developed to prevent moral degradation. The formation of prosocial behavior can be done in a student environment such as at school. This study aims to analyze the teacher's strategy in developing students' prosocial behavior in religious-based elementary schools. The research applied a qualitative approach within the case study method. The researcher involved the teacher as the research subject located in the city of Bandung. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Then, the validity of the data used triangulation techniques while the data is analyzed through thematic analysis. The finding of the research showed that there is a teacher strategy to develop prosocial behavior of students in religious based elementary schools. Giving motivation and modelling strategy are the teacher’s strategy that most widely shown.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the whiteboard animation proclamation based on the patriotism character of elementary students. This is quantitative with quasi-experimental research. Random cluster sampling with 56 students was used as a sampling technique. The data were collected through patriotism scale tests before and after learning activity. Analysis data techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistics analysis by comparing the average result of the test and t-test. The result shows that the average of students' patriotism in the control class is lower than in the experimental class. The increase of the control class is only 15.05% compared to the experimental class that increased 32.25%. T-test results show that whiteboard animation proclamation-based can influence elementary students' patriotism with a significance value of 0.00 (<0.05). It shows that whiteboard animation is effectively used to improve the patriotism character of elementary school students.
