Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This  research aims to find out the influence of SAVI approach using STAD type of cooperative learning model on learning achievement in the VII graders  Junior High School of 14 Surakarta. This research belonged to a quasi-experiment with quantitative approach. The research was designed using posttest only non-equivalent control group design by applying SAVI approach with STAD type of cooperative learning for experiment class and using conventional learning approach with lecture and demonstration methods for control class. The population of research was all 7th graders Junior High School of 14 Surakarta in the school year of 2011/2012. The sample of research was the VII C graders as experiment group and VII B graders as control group. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Technique of collecting data used was objective test, observation test, and school document. The hypothesis testing was conducted using t-test. The data analyzed by Minitab version 16 program help at 5% significance. The hypothesis result of the influence of SAVI approach with STAD type of cooperative learning results p-value < 0,05, so there is affects SAVI approach with STAD type of cooperative learning on the learning achievement in the VII graders Junior High School of 14 Surakarta.
