Abstract

Kata kunci : keanekaragaman Echinodermata, Pantai Tanamon, Sulawesi Utara Abstract Echinoderms usually appear in the intertidal area especially in the coral reef ecosystem. The damage of coral reef may indirectly cause the decline of the existing Echinoderms at Tanamon Beach. This study aimed to analyze Echinoderms diversity of Tanamon Beach, Sinonsayang District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. Sampling was carried out in each location of the lowest tide using the method of purposive random sampling. The results showed that 18 species of Echinoderms inhabited Tanamon Beach which grouped into 4 classes i.e. Class Asteroidea (4 species), Ophiuroidea (6 species), Holothuroidea (3 species) and Echinoidea (5 species). Echinoderms diversity in the Tanamon Beach was classified into moderate class with diversity index (H ') in the Station I, II, III were 1.83; 2.56; 2.37, respectively. Keywords: Echinoderms diversity, Tanamon Beach, North Sulawesi
