Abstract

Diabetic Foot Infection (DFI) is one of the most frequent and severe complications in people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The aim of this study was to identify the prevalence of DFI in type II DM patients. This research was a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional approach with a total sample of 53 wounds obtained through accidental sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The prevalence of DFI was 52.8%, based on the classification of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), there were three out of four categories, namely grade 1 (no infection), grade 2 (mild infection) and grade 3 (moderate infection). So it was concluded that type II DM patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) mostly have infections. So that every DM patient with DFU must be assessed for the possibility of infection Keywords: prevalence; diabetic foot infection; DM type II ABSTRAK Infeksi Luka Kaki Diabetik (LKD) merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang paling sering dan parah pada penderita Diabetes Mellitus (DM).
