This study aims to describe the effect of learning music in improving the cognitive development of students in elementary school. Through learning musical arts, elementary school students can develop their cognitive abilities. In learning music in elementary school, learning takes place using song media. One of them is by introducing children's songs. Children's songs are seen as songs created specifically for children. Learning delivered through the medium of songs is able to develop the mindset of children obtained from songs sung with the reality of life. In cognitive theory, this involves stimuli and responses in learning that focus on students' thought processes. The method used in this study is literature study. The data obtained is analyzed from the findings of journals, scientific articles, literature reviews containing the design to be researched, then compile the findings that have been reviewed. The results of this study show that learning music art has an influence on the cognitive development of elementary school students.
