<![CDATA[The objective of this research is to find out the effect of picture media to the students ability in writing recount text at eighth grade of SMP Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar. The research design is a quantitative research with quasi experimental. The sample of the research have 2 sample for give test such as VIII-5 as experimental group have 32 students and VIII-6 as control group have 32 students. The test used is writing essay test with 1 question contain recount text. Based on the data, result mean of pre-test and post-test in experimental group are 44,73 and 70,62. But, in control group the result mean pre-test and post-test are 32,43 and 39,59, It means there is effect of using this media. So on the result mean variable and standard deviation of pre-test and post-test experimental and control class, sum of total pre-test and post-test in the experimental are 30,18 and 10,61 and sum of total mean variable and standard deviation in control group are 7,21 and 433 with result t-test 1,96 is higher than t-table at 5% of level significance ( 1,670), it means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The conclusion of this research is there significant effect of using picture media on the students’ ability in writing recount text of eighth grade in SMP Negeri 5 Pematang Siantar.]]>
