EDUKASI is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that focuses on Religious Educational Research. It published by Center for Research And Development of Religious Education, Republic Indonesia Ministry of Religious Affairs, since 2003 and had been released three times a year. Now (since 2017) it governed in associated and corporated to Religious Researchers Association. And since 2009 it had been accredited by Indonesian Science Institution. Nowadays are about to prepare for becoming International Journal reputation that would be indexed at global high ranked index. As the scientific reading material publication, the EDUKASI aimed to provide readers with a better comprehensive understanding of Religious Educational Studies in Indonesia, and even around Asia countries and the world. We invited all researchers, lecturers, teachers, and whoever interested and have a manuscript of religious education to send off what you have been researched and reported to be published in EDUKASI. The articles should be original, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in any other journals. All submitted manuscripts will be blindly-reviewed by qualified academics in the field. This process may take several weeks or months.

Abstract

The birth of Islamic full-day school (SDIT) brings about the direct or indirect effect to the existence of Islamic elementary schools. several schools in Surakarta and its surroundings are lack of students and some of them break up. based on the observation most of the broken schools were built by the collective societies. conversely, the integrated schools or the full-day schools were usually established and possessed by private owners; thus, the profit oriented management of such schools are more dominant; even though, this assumption is not absolutely always correct.

Abstract

This research aims at mapping the competencies of general subject matters of the teacher in madrasah (math, English, and Indonesian) including professional competence, individual or personal competence, social competence, and pedagogic competence. the result of this research shows that professional competence and pedagogic competence of general subject teacher in madrasah are still low. the average value for professional competence is 53.4 and average value for pedagogic competence is 53.32. whereas individual competence and social competence of general subject teacher in madrasah mainly are good enough. the average value for individual competence is 83.06% and average value for social competence is 74.47%.

Abstract

In a reality, there is a gap between madrasah and school oh the quality achievement. It might be caused eitber by a high-load-curriculum in madrasah or the lack of government’s attention in service fulfillment. This condition brings upon some demands to bring back madrasah to the authority of department of national education (Depdiknas). Some perceive that madrasah are being marginalized under the autbority of department of religious affairs (Departemen Agama)- that its duty does not only bandle educationed problems. However, the department of religious affairs assures, the bringing back madrasah to depdiknas’ authority will be withering up most madrasahs- which generally are private madrasah- with its long history of  their existence. This paper will elaborate the madrasah’s management and its implementation.

Abstract

The law number 14 of 2005 on the teacher and lecturer, mentions that teacher has function, role, and strategic position in national development in education field. professionalism of teacher is needed in effort to education quality improvement. professional teacher is a teacher who has professional competencies in its field. a teacher is stated to be competent if he/she is able to perform his/her teaching duty with high competencies so he/she is able to build any teaching-learning process efficiently, effectively, and cohesively.

Abstract

The reposition of madrasah becomes public school according to the law number 20/2003 on national education system is assumed giving some serious implications, especially dealing with achieving idealism has to be reached by madrasah, which is developed based on vision and mission of madrasah as Islamic education institution. madrasah should be constantly opened to its internal values, personal, character, need, and also strengths, and weaknesses. because madrasah was historically developed from the previous Islamic education institution, i.e. pesantren. so, madrasah should keep on in vision and mission of pesantren, i.e. tafaqquh fiddin.

Abstract

Child is a gift from god and trusteeship all at once. parents are imperatively obliged to take care and educate their children appropriately with Allah’s command, in order that child can grow and develop optimally, to be educated people and good personality. but, in a reality it is shown that there have been many of children experienced moral decadence, even the dare to do violence and criminal. this condition might be caused by education accepted by the children in the early period was not parallel with the Islamic education principle. this paper will explain the child education according to Islam.

Abstract

One of the governmental policies for the madrasah quality improvement is providing programs called biaya operasional sekolah (BOS) and bantuan operasional manajemen mutu (BOMM). Both programs, basically, aim at improving the quality of education in madrasah at the basic education level (Madrasah ibtidaiyah and madrasah tsanawiyah). This study wants to describe how those programs be implemented. In a detail, the survey focuses on: (1) mechanism in carrying out program of BOS and BOMM, including how its socialization, distribution, utilization, and its accountability, (2) the effect of both programs towards the quality improvement of madrasahs, and (3)advisory treatments carried out by the government dealing with the implementation of BOSS and BOMM programs. The study highlights that the BOS and BOMM programs have contribute in improving the madrasahs performance which, in turn, help the quality improvement of madrasahs. Finally, the research recommended to the government to continue these programs in the future with any notes to be refined.

Abstract

Teacher is an urgent and determinative factor in education. it has a central and determinative position in the learning process. the education society prosecutes  in the improvement of the teacher quality. it could not postponed anylonger, as what implicitly shown at law number 20 of 2003 on national education system, law number 14 of 2005 on teacher and lecturer, and government regulation number 19 of 2005 on national standard of education. furthermore, the implementation of competence based curriculum (KB), and then Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP), brings on educators to have enough competence.
