EDUKASI is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that focuses on Religious Educational Research. It published by Center for Research And Development of Religious Education, Republic Indonesia Ministry of Religious Affairs, since 2003 and had been released three times a year. Now (since 2017) it governed in associated and corporated to Religious Researchers Association. And since 2009 it had been accredited by Indonesian Science Institution. Nowadays are about to prepare for becoming International Journal reputation that would be indexed at global high ranked index. As the scientific reading material publication, the EDUKASI aimed to provide readers with a better comprehensive understanding of Religious Educational Studies in Indonesia, and even around Asia countries and the world. We invited all researchers, lecturers, teachers, and whoever interested and have a manuscript of religious education to send off what you have been researched and reported to be published in EDUKASI. The articles should be original, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in any other journals. All submitted manuscripts will be blindly-reviewed by qualified academics in the field. This process may take several weeks or months.

Abstract

abstractThis paper describes a character that lived in the twentieth century and was instrumental in developing Islamic higher education in South Sulawesi.  The  role  of  this  figure  is  not  known  by the recent generations because it is not much publicized. The struggle of the figure is shown by, among  other  things,  his  achievement  as  the  first man in this area who earned a degree in religious college and his role as the founder and head of an Islamic higher educational institution. Data and information on the figure obtained through written sources and interviews with people who’ve hung out with him like his close relatives, fellow professors at university, friends in the organization and direct observations of the author of a number of activities during his lifetime. The information based on those sources is combined into a brief biography as part of a study of history. An explanation of the figure refers to the standpoint of leadership theory, particularly the nature and personality of a leader as well as his effective leadership.Keywords: Leaders, educators, Islamic Universities educational abstraktulisan ini menjelaskan seorang tokoh yang hidup pada abad dua puluh dan banyak berjasa dalam mengembangkan pendidikan tinggi Islam di sulawesi selatan. Peran tokoh ini belum banyak dikenal oleh generasi sesudahnya karena belum banyak dipublikasikan. Perjuangan tokoh dijelaskan, antara lain, dengan capaian sebagai orang pertama di daerah ini yang meraih gelar sarjana di perguruan tinggi agama, mendirikan dan memimpin lembaga pendidikan tinggi Islam. Data dan informasi tentang tokoh diperoleh melalui sumber tertulis dan wawancara dengan orang-orang yang pernah bergaul dengannya seperti kerabat dekat, sesama dosen di kampus, sahabat dalam organisasi dan pengamatan langsung penulis terhadap sejumlah aktivitas tokoh semasa hidupnya. Informasi berdasarkan sumber-sumber itu dipadukan menjadi suatu biografi singkat sebagai bagian dari kajian sejarah. Penjelasan tentang ketokohan mengacu pada sudut pandang teori kepemimpinan, khususunya sifat dan kepribadian seorang pemimpin serta kepemimpinan efektif.Kata Kunci: tokoh, Pendidik, Perguruan tinggi Islam

Abstract

One of theylost urgent problems with increasing quality of madrasah (Islamic institution of learning) is that so many madrasah teachers are unqualified. The dominant factor that assumedly causes low compe­tence of teachers is because of numerous madrasah teachers have no educational background and a mismatch between educational background of the teachers with their duties and functions. Education and training undertaken by Department of Religious Affairs is considered one of breakthroughs to get out of this problem. This article is purposed to look at aspects of education and training to solve the problem with teachers competence.

Abstract

AbstractTeachers have strategic role in effort to education quality improvement. They have to have competencies mentioned in Law Number 14 of 2005 Teacher and Lecture – including professional, paedagogic, personal, and social competence. This research aims at mapping the competence of islamic educational taechers in Madrasah Aliyah. This research uses a quantitative approach. Data are analyzed with descriptive approach. The respondents are Islamic educational teachers in 6 provincies: DKI Jakarta, West Java, Midlle Java, Banten, D.I. Yogyakarta, and East Java. The result of this research shows that competencies of Islamic educational teachers in Madrasah Aliyah are enough. The average value for professional competence is 65.98; average value for pedagogic competence is 135.72; average value for personal competence is 48; and average value for social competence is 59.5. AbstrakGuru memiliki peran yang strategis dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, sehingga mereka dituntut untuk memiliki kompetensi seperti yang dipersyaratkan dalam UU Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 tentang Guru dan Dosen. Kompetensi guru sebagaimana yang dimaksud meliputi kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial dan kompetensi profesional yang dipeeroleh melalui pendidikan profesi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh guru Pendidikan Agama Islam di Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantiatif. Data dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif statistik. Responden penelitian ini adalah guru Pendidikan Agama Islam di wilayah Jawa meliputi DKI Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Banten, Jawa Tengah, Jawa Timur, dan Jogjakarta. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keseluruhan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki kompetensi yang cukup memadai. Nilai rerata kompetensi profesional adalah 65.98. nilai rerata untuk kompetensi pedagogik 135.72, kompetensi kepribadian 48, dan nilai rerata kompetensi sosial 53.51.

Abstract

This research is aimed at identiffing the effect of formative assessment in improving the results of study of students on mathematics lesson interconnected with the initial ability of students. The research was conducted at MAN 9 in DKI Jakarta in the second semester of 2007-2008 academic year. The sample was selected by applying simple random sampling technique and the site was 80.This research used experiment method with factorial design 2 x 2 and the data were analyzed by using Two-way Anova and T- test at/the level of significance a = 0,05.

Tidak dipungkiri bahwa setiap lembaga pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan tinggi harus dapat memegang peranannya sebagai pusat keunggulan yang dapat kita banggakan. hal tersebut merupakan satu-satunya cara agar lembaga pendidikan tinggi tersebut dapat diakui secara akademis oleh masyarakat. dalam hal ini, IAIN memiliki peluang yang sama untuk menjadi pusat keunggulan dalam ranah studi Islam dengan universitas atau lembaga pendidikan tinggi “sekular” lainnya. lembaga ini akan segera membuka fakultas-fakultas “secular” seperti hokum, sosiologi, matematika, biologi, psikologi, dan lain-lain.

Abstract

AbstractReligious education is intended to realize the Indonesian human resources that are faithful and devoted to God the Almighty and have the advantage of noble morality which is a necessity in education and learning. To achieve such a lofty goal, it would require a variety of efforts or learning strategies, one of which is a Islamic Education study (PAI), as an attempt to create a religiousschool environment. The study was conducted at SMAN 3 Bandung, with the aim of describing: 1) Perception of the principal on PAI, 2) perceptions of students about PAI, and 3) Strategies of PAI in creating a religious school environment. The study result shows that the principal holds very positive view on PAI, which is manifested in the form of policy towards the implementation of PAI learning in intra-curricular and extracurricular activities. One of PAI learning strategies adopted is to integrate extracurricular activities (mentoring) and PAI in a program called the MT-PAI (Integrated Mentoring Islamic Education). The activity works well because of the positive student perceptions on PAI that PAI is quite interesting and easy to learn and the material is easy to be practiced in everyday life. AbstrakPembelajaran pendidikan agama dimaksudkan untuk mewujudkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) Indonesia yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa serta memiliki keunggulan akhlakul karimah, ini merupakan suatu keniscayaan dalam pendidikan dan pembelajaran. Untuk mewujudkan tujuan yang mulia tersebut, maka diperlukan berbagai upaya ataupun strategi pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah strategi pembelajaran Pendidikan Agam Islam (PAI), sebagai upaya untuk mewujudkan lingkungan sekolah yang religius. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA N 3 Bandung, dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang: 1) Persepsi pimpinan sekolah tentang PAI, 2) persepsi siswa tentang PAI, dan 3) Strategi PAI dalam mewujudkan lingkungan sekolah yang religius. Hasil dari penelitian adalah, bahwa pimpinan (kepala sekolah) berpandangan sangat positif terhadap PAI, yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk kebijakan terhadap penyelenggaraan pembelajaran PAI dalam kegiatan intrakurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler. Salah satu strategi pembelajaran PAI yang diterapkan adalah dengan mengintegrasikan antara kegiatan ekstrakurikuler (mentoring) dengan mata pelajaran PAI yang disebut dengan MT-PAI (Mentoring Terintegrasi Pendidikan Agama Islam). Kegiatan tersebut dapat berjalan dengan baik, karena diimbangi persepsi siswa yang positif terhadap PAI, bahwa PAI cukup menarik dan mudah untuk dipelajari, dan materinya mudah dipraktikkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The birth of Islamic full-day school (SDIT) brings about the direct or indirect effect to the existence of Islamic elementary schools. several schools in Surakarta and its surroundings are lack of students and some of them break up. based on the observation most of the broken schools were built by the collective societies. conversely, the integrated schools or the full-day schools were usually established and possessed by private owners; thus, the profit oriented management of such schools are more dominant; even though, this assumption is not absolutely always correct.

Abstract

AbstractThe validation of Education Unit Level Curriculum/ Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) is one of some realization of autonomy implementation. The implementation of KTSP including the KTSP of Islamic religion education tends to be minimally implemented. Some of its indicators are, in fact, a great deal of the teachers of Islamic religion/ Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (GPAI) have not been applied, developed, or implemented such curriculum in the because of some factor dealing with their level of preparation of GPAI SMP in implementing of KTSP PAI and also supporting and obstacle factors in the implementation in schools.
