Abstract

This paper attempts to picture the shift in discourse on gender relations in interpretive thinking in Indonesia by bringing together the interpretations of 'Abd al-Rauf Singkel, Hamka and M. Quraish Shihab. The selection of the three commentators was motivated by the difference in the period of writing the interpretations of the three. From this analysis, it is known that the interpretations of these three commentators on gender verses have points of similarities and differences. The interpretation of 'Abd al-Rauf Singkel in general follows the flow of traditional interpretations but his views are more moderate and tolerant, as seen in the issue of the origin of events and women's leadership. The shift in gender relations discourse is more visible in the interpretations of Hamka and M. Quraish Shihab. It seems to have its own interpretation, which does not fully follow the currents of traditional or contemporary commentators' views. This research is explored by comparative interpretation using critical discourse analysis method. From this research, it is found that modern and contemporary interpretations in Indonesia are more assertive in carrying out the discourse on Gender Equality Relations

Abstract

Qur'an takes seriously the issue of poverty alleviation. Hence, the Government and BAZNAS also prioritize poverty alleviation with various efforts and programs. According to Statistics Indonesia or Badan Pusat Statistic (BPS), the percentage of Indonesia's poverty population in one year (March 2020-March 2021) increased by 0.36% or as many as 1,120,000 people. According to this issue, BAZNAS successfully alleviates poverty by 28,859 people within one year. The data shows the lack of absorption of poverty alleviation programs in Indonesia. This research aims to investigate how government and BAZNAS alleviate poverty in Indonesia. This investigation uses a qualitative approach with literature studies and descriptive analysis techniques. This present study also identifies the solutions in the Qur'an to the government and BAZNAS in alleviating poverty. Based on the analysis, the findings in this study indicate that the role of the government and BAZNAS in alleviating poverty has not been integrated. The achievements obtained are less than optimal and tend to be ineffective. Qur'an offered three psychological solutions; mental reconstruction in alleviating natural poverty, collective philanthropic movements in alleviating cultural poverty, and harmonization of government programs and BAZNAS in alleviating structural poverty.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of interfaith dialogue as a form of implementing religious moderation in the living space of modern society which is marked by the existence of social media. Dialogue between religions in order to build harmony that leads to peace and brotherhood is a must. Therefore, to achieve this the basic principle of maintaining ukhuwwah (brotherhood) is the key. Interfaith dialogue is not only important to be carried out face to face, but advances in technology have the opportunity to more easily interact via virtual with other religions to sow harmony. This article was written using a qualitative approach and using library research steps by placing books and journals as primary data, as well as writing from websites as supporting data. This article finds the conclusion that interfaith dialogue in multi-religious Indonesia is something that needs to be built in various spaces, including social media. The large diversity of religions has the potential to cause friction/conflict, but if the values of moderation are implemented properly by consistently building dialogue for the progress of the nation and harmony will avoid destruction. Other efforts that can be applied in the modern era are building moderate narratives on social media, building creative content, collaborating and continuing. Then later it will lead to harmony, equality, balance, peace, and away from tension.

Abstract

This research is intended to explain the interpretation of QS. Luqman verse 12 is based on a comparative analytical study of the interpretation of the archipelago by K.H. Bisri Musthofa and Quraish Shihab. This research was made using the literature study method. This is shown by the results of studies that assess that the comparison between the interpretations written by Bisri Mustofa and Quraish Shihab is quite substantial. It's just that, in its interpretation, it has some similarities in the method of interpretation and the pattern of interpretation. In addition, there are some differences in meaning in some words caused by different sources of interpretation as well as the conditions of society and the mufassir era that influence their interpretation. This can happen because the pattern of these two interpretations is adab ijtima'i (social society). The word wisdom in the verse is interpreted by two different words. In Bisri Mustofa's interpretation, it is only explained that Luqman received wisdom from God, without any clear understanding of wisdom in his view. Meanwhile, Quraish shihab defines wisdom as something that gets in the way. The point is that wisdom is something that when used can avoid and hinder the damage or ugliness that will come and will create benefits. This difference occurs because of the thinking and breadth of knowledge of the two figures in understanding the meaning of a text of verses from the Qur'an.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the articulation of Islamic political parties post democratic transition. This is a literature study with an empirical sociological approach which is analyzed by means of content analysis. The results of the research show that Islamic political parties during the post democratic transition have fluctuated; however, they have never moved from the middle class. In the last five elections, it can be seen that Islamic political parties have stagnated (and even seems to decline) and are difficult to grow and develop. There are several contributing factors; first, the increasing number of Islamic political parties has caused the concentration of Muslims to break into many Islamic political parties. Second, the increasingly diluted political orientation of Muslims towards Islamic political parties. The secularization of politics that had occurred during the new order had contributed to the changing of political orientation of Muslims who no longer identified the party with Islam; third, the failure of Islamic political parties to show themselves as parties that have a distinctive difference compared to other nationalist political parties both related to political behavior or image and work programs; fourth, the shrewdness of nationalist parties in approaching Muslims by establishing wing organizations in each party; and the last one, the internal conflicts of Islamic political party elites that make constituents become apathetic about the future of these political parties.
