Abstract

This article examines the concept of death in the Theravada Buddhist perspective. Where the teachings show the stages in addressing or even the state after death. When facing death in Theravada Buddhism, it is very fearful to avoid fear and doubt, instead you have to be happy by preparing for life's good deeds. The existence of punarbawa / rebirth is one of the concepts carried on as a hereditary belief from Buddhist scriptures. By using a qualitative approach in analyzing, analyzing data from relevant literature / literature studies, so that they can be arranged with related material. This article is important to study further, by looking at how the perspective implanted in Theravada Buddhism, especially the concept of death, will be a source of knowledge which will become a source of insight and learning. The goal is a category that can be consumed by scientific studies of religious studies and academics or the general public related to themes that are expected to be useful for many circles. That way the purpose of life in every religion is the goal of others and still instills virtue.

Abstract

Manusia diciptakan oleh Tuhan supaya mengenal dan mengakui keagungan Tuhan, karena ia Maha segalanya. Untuk itu Sebagai manusia yang beragama, pastilah ada yang mengalami ketakutan dan kekhawatiran yang mengancam dirinya baik fisik maupun batinnya, maka di setiap Agama pasti membutuhkan Tuhan sebagai tempat bersandar dan juga tempat berlindung. Dalam proses penyujian diri, Agama Buddha mengajarkan bertapa, upasatha, dan meditasi. Agama Hindu mengajarkan peribadatan atau ritual hari-hari besar Sang Hayang Widhi, seperti upacara Melasti, selain itu juga bisa dilaksanakan dengan melakukan sembahyang yang berisikan Puja, (doa) pratana, japa dan juga mantra. Sedangkan agama Islam mengajarkan proses tazkiyatun nafs dengan jalan tasawuf.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic affects almost all dimensions of human life, including religious life. As an entity also affected by the pandemic, religious life manifests as part of the social problems and dilemmas in the pandemic era. This article tries to explain the liminal movement of religious life in East Java. The aim is to find some urgent dimensions regarding the practice of religious life in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The qualitative approach was chosen as a technique to find several essential aspects in the liminal process. By conducting interviews and being supported by online data categorized thematically, this technique can reinforce views and patterns of religious experience. Interviews were conducted with academics, mosque managers, religious leaders, mosque congregations, and community leaders. The research findings are that as a form of experience in the pandemic era, liminality can transmit ritual practices and cultural codes into new ways of doing and adapting religious life into new everyday habits. Amid an increasingly blurred rationality and demands for survival that continue to whack, people take various ways to resist epidemics and disasters and seek protection with various patterns, including religion.

Abstract

Islamic education is not a prison for national education, because Islamic education has a position not only as a compliment but also as the basis for formulating the goals of national education. Islamic education is needed by all Muslims and must be implemented regardless of age or class. Apart from that, it is also aimed at enhancing the human mentality and is also very much needed by many people and countries. Even though there are many characteristics and types of Islamic education in the Southeast Asia region, it has the same goal, namely to improve the quality of humanity and uphold the morals of good, moral, and knowledgeable Muslims. Both national and private education in the countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand are very necessary and very important to be studied for Islamic education that is good in behavior, morals and Islamic religious values ​​are well maintained. This article discusses an analysis of the culture and system of Islamic education in the Southeast Asian region, especially Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, which aims to increase understanding of the diversity of Islamic education in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang bagaimana manajemen komunikasi organisasi sosial keagamaan sholawat Asma’ Badar yang berlokasi di kecamatan Glenmore, Banyuwangi. Organisasi sosial keagamaan memang merupakan media yang tepat dalam menjaga nilai-nilai keislaman supaya tidak terkikis oleh kemajuan zaman dan luntur esensinya di kalangan pemuda. Dengan serangkaian kegiatan keagamaan yang diamalkan seperti kegiatan sosial, kegiatan dzikir bersama, tahlilan, sholawatan dan lainnya, juga merupakan sarana untuk mendekatkan diri kepada Tuhan sebagaimana kewajiban bagi seorang muslim. Dalam mengumpulkan, menganalisis, dan memilah data-data dalam artikel ini yaitu menggunakan langkah observasi/terjun lapangan dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Artikel ini penting kiranya untuk dikaji lebih mendalam, karena akan banyak menuai manfaat yang besar bagi banyak kalangan, terutama bagi masyarakat maupun sebagai contoh bagi organisasi keagamaan lain. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana sistem manajemen dan komunikasi organisasi sosial keagamaan Asma’ Badar di kecamatan Glenmore, Banyuwangi. Dengan mengetahui bagaimana sistem manajemen komunikasi nantinya akan menjadi sebuah pengetahuan dan bisa menjadi rujukan bagi organisasi sosial keagamaan lain dalam menerapkan kegiatan-kegiatan keagamaan yang banyak mengandung manfaat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between religion and altruism, namely the relationship between the religious attitudes of members of the Posko community and volunteers throughout the city of Surabaya in helping the community. Attitudes possessed by every human being must be different, not a few humans who have a voluntary attitude, are generous, like to help and have a human spirit. As a volunteer who helps in a particular service or organization without wanting or involving money in return for his work. The research method in this article uses a descriptive qualitative analysis approach. By using the literature, observation and interviews are the main components of the preparation of this research. With the attitude of religiosity, volunteers are increasingly convinced that what they are doing is good and God likes good things. Because it is a form of attention that someone has with the aim of increasing helping others without being selfish. Volunteer actions are closely related to religious elements and altruism as human nature, so the urge to take part in humanitarian action grows by itself. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between the religiosity and altruism of the posko community members and volunteers throughout the city of Surabaya in their contribution to helping the community, which means that the higher the religiosity the higher the human spirit, religiosity contributes effectively to the attitudes of community members.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of interfaith dialogue as a form of implementing religious moderation in the living space of modern society which is marked by the existence of social media. Dialogue between religions in order to build harmony that leads to peace and brotherhood is a must. Therefore, to achieve this the basic principle of maintaining ukhuwwah (brotherhood) is the key. Interfaith dialogue is not only important to be carried out face to face, but advances in technology have the opportunity to more easily interact via virtual with other religions to sow harmony. This article was written using a qualitative approach and using library research steps by placing books and journals as primary data, as well as writing from websites as supporting data. This article finds the conclusion that interfaith dialogue in multi-religious Indonesia is something that needs to be built in various spaces, including social media. The large diversity of religions has the potential to cause friction/conflict, but if the values of moderation are implemented properly by consistently building dialogue for the progress of the nation and harmony will avoid destruction. Other efforts that can be applied in the modern era are building moderate narratives on social media, building creative content, collaborating and continuing. Then later it will lead to harmony, equality, balance, peace, and away from tension.

Abstract

A single This research article examines the role of religious values ​​in preventing environmental damage on earth. Religion and the environment are inseparable. Such an understanding is not correct. So far, religion is considered not to have an important role in protecting the environment and making people aware of protecting nature. Whereas in Islam, it has been stated in the Qur'an and Hadith that humans must care about the environment. The purpose of human life is not only to worship God but also to maintain the relationship between humans and nature. As has been applied in Islam which teaches about Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin, from there humans are ordered to not only have mercy or do good to humans, but also to nature, be it plants, rocks, the environment, and so on. The research method used in this article uses a qualitative approach with literature study, which collects data in the form of journals, books, and supporting references that are relevant and accountable. It is very important to protect the environment from inefficient plastic processing for the sake of a clean and healthy life. In Islam, it is also required to live a healthy life. The results of this study are about the importance of humans in protecting the environment and the role of religion in Him, as well as the efforts of religious communities in dealing with plastic pollution to preserve the environment.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang hubungan Qatar dan Ikhwanul Muslimin dalam dunia pendidikan yang dikaji dalam konteks sejarah. Diketahui bahwa dunia pendidikan Qatar dahulu diwarnai oleh peran Ikhwanul Muslimin sebagai tokoh pengajar dari Mesir. Tokoh-tokoh besar layaknya Yusuf Al-Qardhawi merupakan salah satu di antaranya yang turut berperan dalam perkembangan pendidikan di Qatar Nama besar Qardhawi pun menguntungkan Qatar sebagai negara yang membutuhkan sosok akademisi muslim besar kala itu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer diambil dari buku, jurnal, dan internet sebagai data pelengkap, yang kemudian diinterpretasikan dan disimpulkan. Artikel ini menemukan bahwa Qatar menjaga hubungannya dengan Ikhwanul Muslimin terlebih dalam dunia pendidikan yaitu menjamin kalangan Ikhawan untuk tinggal di Qatar. Hal lain yang menjadi penguat adalah pengaruh Syekh Yusuf Qardhawi juga turut berperan dalam upaya memajukan pendidikan Islam di Qatar ala Ikhwanul Muslimin. Kata Kunci: Qatar, Ikhwanul Muslimin, Pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study delves into the synergy of Islam and local culture, particularly the "sambelien" tradition observed by the Malangsari community. This tradition serves as a poignant expression of welcome for Eid al-Fitr, encapsulating profound social Sufism values. Rooted in the community's collective aspiration for forgiveness and joy during this significant Islamic celebration, sambelien yields substantial social benefits. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological orientation, the researcher conducted a thorough investigation, gathering primary and secondary data. The study draws upon Berger & Luckman's social construction theory, encompassing subjective reality, symbolic reality, and objective reality, as well as the processes of externalization, objectification, and internalization. The article aims to unravel the core values embedded within the sambelien tradition through descriptive exploratory analysis. The findings illuminate the tradition as a cherished practice among rural communities in the Malangsari region, where joint prayers in mosques or langgar symbolize communal celebration. The act of seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT, following the fasting period of Ramadan, underscores the spiritual significance of this tradition. The local community acknowledges the presence of Sufism and social values, viewing the tradition as a reflection of maintaining habl min Allah (connection with God) and habl min al-Nass (connection with others). The values inherent in this tradition align with the realms of insaniyah (humanitarian) and Ilahiyah (divine). By shedding light on the intricate interplay between Islam and local customs, particularly within the context of the sambelien tradition, this study enriches our understanding of the cultural tapestry that defines communities in the Malangsari area and beyond.
