Abstract

Curriculum development is a must in an educational institution. One way to develop the curriculum is through reformatting instructional process. During the covid-19, online learning becomes a must. For that reason, this qualitative research explores online learning process implemented in one of the private universities in Aceh. The data for the study were gathered through semi-structured interviews. The participants of the study were the dean of the Faculty of Islamic Education, the head of department of Islamic education, and a lecturer in the department. The result of this study suggests that online learning is inevitable in this Covid-19 pandemic; the lecturers are also found to have been capable in using online learning platforms: the lecturers are capable of using the general and a special-designed learning platform available. Curriculum development was conducted through several steps. Lecturers disseminate information about the use of online platform, they also make use of online learning available for students through online media, and finally all participants agree to prevent learning loss through encouraging students to be honest and accountable for what they do during their learning.

Abstract

The application of e-learning greatly impacts the ability to understand concepts and student learning outcomes. The purpose of the study was to determine 1) the prerequisite test of research instruments 2) the perception of the ability to understand redox concepts in e-learning based on indicators of learning stimuli, responses, and evaluations. 3) the relationship of understanding redox concepts to student learning outcomes. The method used is descriptive quantitative, in-class X MIA at MAN Tangerang, 38 students were selected by purposive random sampling. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The results showed that the prerequisite test was declared valid, reliable, and normally distributed. Student perceptions generally agree based on learning stimulus indicators as much as 71.025%; response 71.075%; evaluation 62.475%. Students give full attention during learning, participate actively during discussions, and understand redox concepts. Understanding redox concepts on student learning outcomes has a significant relationship (strong and positive), seen from the value of sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 less than 0.05, Pearson correlation of 0.967 greater than 0.329 (significance 5%). The results of this study serve as scientific information on e-learning for chemistry subject teachers in improving the learning process.

Abstract

Technology is an essential reference in all aspects. Technology provides significant changes in education part, especially in learning mathematics. Technology has an impact on the innovation space in mathematics learning, the problems so far tend to be less attractive, the environment is boring and very tied to reading materials, which results in students still not being able to develop their mathematical thinking process optimally, namely students' mathematical understanding is still low. Students' mathematical understanding is one of the most important capabilities that students should have to solve various problems, both mathematical problems for instance problems related to concepts, operations, principles, and in daily life. So that innovation in learning with the influence of learning technology is important to apply. The aim of this study was to develop students' conceptual understanding of transformation geometry using Geogebra software. This study used exploratory mixed methods designs that aimed to describe students' understanding of mathematics by learning using Geogebra software. The results of the study indicate that usage Geogebra software can develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the transformation geometry, and assisted teachers create an interesting and fun learning process, teachers find the right procedures in using applications such as the use of different software and techniques in learning mathematics, making it easier for students to understand the abstract material of transformation geometry. The results of this study are focused on test analysis, namely exploring students' mathematical understanding, data can also be obtained from interview techniques that explore test answers, in the form of 2 problems related to transformation geometry. The results of the study indicate that are 5 criteria that have met the students' understanding of mathematics from 7 indicators.

Abstract

The problem that occurs at SMKN 2 Sigli is the learning process that has not used learning media in the form of application software, one of which is Matlab Simulink which can later simplify and increase the motivation of students in the classroom. This study aims to determine whether the introduction of the Matlab Simulink application can increase the learning motivation of students in class XI at SMKN 2 Sigli and to determine the response of students after the introduction of the Matlab Simulink application in class XI at SMK 2 Sigli. This type of research uses an experimental model with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students at SMK N 2 Sigli as many as 751 people. The sample in this study is class XI students, totaling 17 people, sampling using purposive sampling method. This research instrument includes observation and questionnaires. The results of observing the activeness of students using the Matlab Simulink application increased according to the criteria for the percentage of 92.85% (highly motivated). The results of the motivation of students as many as 52.54% who chose very well were included in the moderately motivated category and gave a positive response to the use of the Matlab Simulink application for class XI SMK Negeri 2 Sigli.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of the interaction of the Qur'an on the formation of commendable behavior in students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry. This research is a correlation research, which is a study conducted to determine the level of relationship between two or more variables. This research uses quantitative analysis method using Product-Moment correlation measurement technique. The results showed that for the quality of the interaction of the Qur'an 29.59% students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of UIN Ar-Raniry very often interacted with the Qur'an, 67.35% of them often and 3.06% moderate. So it can be concluded that the quality of the interaction of the Qur'an by the students of the Tarbiyah Faculty and Teacher Training at UIN Ar-Raniry is good. For the quality of commendable behavior, it shows that 22.4% of the students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of UIN Ar-Raniry behave with Very Praiseworthy behavior, 74.5% of them behave Commendable and 3.06% behave Moderately. So it can be concluded that the quality of commendable behavior of the students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of UIN Ar-Raniry is good. The correlation between the interaction of the Qur'an and commendable behavior is obtained by r­­­xy = + 0.67, while the r product moment table with N = 100 (which is closest to the number 98) shows a critical price of r 95% = 0.195. The value of r­­­xy = + 0.67 is far beyond the critical value, so it can be concluded that the value of r is significant at the 95% confidence level and H­­­­o is rejected. The conclusion is that the intensity of the interaction of the Qur'an has a significant influence on the formation of commendable behavior for the students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Ar-Raniry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine student self-efficacy in learning Basic Physics at the Tadris IPA Physics study program at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang during the covid 19 outbreak. This type of descriptive research was conducted in this study, with 45 first semester students as the population. This study uses a questionnaire as a data collection tool that has been validated by experts. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the self-efficacy of students in basic physics subjects during online learning was in the good/high category (71.11%). From the aspect of the dimension of self-efficacy, it was also obtained that the average of each dimension obtained high results or in the good category. This means that students have awareness and belief in their potential and can adapt to learning in pandemic conditions. The obstacle for students in learning basic physics is that the implementation of practicum is not optimal. the solution is the need for regulation from educational institutions, especially in practicum courses to continue to practice in the laboratory by paying attention to health protocols.

Abstract

This study aims to find out gender-based differences in mastering English language skills between male and female students in single-sex schooling. There were 330 participants from first and second-year students of Darul Ihsan Islamic Senior High School involved. Direct learning strategies (memory, cognitive, and compensation strategy) along with attitude, motivation, and anxiety are variables analyzed in this study. A questionnaire from the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) and Attitude Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) were adapted to collect the data. The data were analyzed by using Mann Whitney-U Test. The findings from the partial test show there was a significant difference between male and female students in attitude, motivation, anxiety, memory strategy, and cognitive strategy. Only compensation strategy and the simultaneous test of the variables were found to have no statistically significant difference between male and female students. The finding of the English subject score showed that female students outperform male students. It also found that male students have a higher level of anxiety than female students. Therefore, it is suggested that teachers should try to adjust the teaching and learning in male classes so that hopefully the learning circumstance will reduce the anxiety of male students.

Abstract

This article explores facts about the role of classroom teachers foster students' interest in writing literacy. Several questions about writing literacy, covering how classroom teachers foster interest in writing literacy in students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Huda Sedenganmijen Krian, as well as what are the obstacles that class teachers in fostering interest in writing literacy at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Huda Sedenganmijen Krian, from both focuses The problem is expected to provide detailed information about the growth of students' interest in writing literacy so that later it can be used as a reference to other elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that several classroom teachers have made breakthroughs, such as; familiarizing students with reading before starting the lesson, with a combination of class teachers giving students assignments to write personal stories in diaries. In addition, classroom teachers use several methods to foster students' interest in writing literacy, to be able to get maximum results. Synergy is a necessity in learning facilities such as the existence of learning media prepared by Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Huda Sendangmijen Krian, appropriate reading and writing literacy media, such as; Storybooks, picture stories, and fairy tales, wall magazines and children's encyclopedias, diaries, post it, film files (video).
