Interpersonal Relationship and Personality Development on the Main Character in R.J Palacio’s Wonder Novel Eka Margianti Sagimin; Linda Nurarsita Damayanti

This study aims to find the personality development of the main character in the Wonder novel, August Pullman. The objective of this study is to show how August’s interpersonal relationship depicted in the novel and influenced his personality development. The theory of Interpersonal Relationship from Harry S. Sullivan is used to analyze how August’s social interaction with others affect his personality development. This study found that someone’s personality development can be seen through the relationship between individual and others. In addition, to find out the factors of personality development, this study uses Elizabeth B. Hurlock’s theory of Personality Development. Some factors which are responsible for someone’s change are changes in environment, changes in social pressure and changes in self-concept. The purpose of this study was to know the effectiveness of Field-Trip-Learning-method in writing a German description essay. This study used quasi-experiment approach. The sample in this study is random sampling. Data is analyzed using t-Test analysis. The result of data analysis shows that t-count 8,44> t-table 2,000 at significant level of 0.05. The results showed that The Field-Trip-Learning method is effectively used in increasing student’s writing skill.

This study aims to find the use of picture in helping students to learn basic English and to increase their awareness of the natural environment. In the long run this research aims to provide a basic method for learning English in elementary schools. The title of the picture books used in this research is “Our Big Home: An Earth Poem”. A qualitative descriptive is applied in this study that aims to create a conceptual model of learning based on storybook. The population used in this study was elementary school located in Malino sub-district, Makassar city. In selecting the technique sample used is a multistage sampling technique. This research applied the data analysis technique of this research is processing data based on the flow method. The result showed that most of the children showed high interest in learning English by using this method and it was also catch the student’s interest to care more about their natural environment by comparing the illustration in the book.

The method as one of the important components in the learning process needs to be better understood, because the success or failure of a learning goal depends on the type and application of the chosen method. This paper presents five types of methods that are commonly understood in learning German as a foreign language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache), namely: Grammatik-Übersetzungsmethode, direkte Methode, Audio-linguale Methode, Kommunikative Methode, interkulturelle Ansatz. These five types of methods are presented chronically to describe the process of developing the foreign (German) language learning method.

The purpose of this study was to obtain data about the effectiveness of the Tea Party cooperative model in German speaking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental study. Data collection tecnique is speaking skills tests. Data were analyzed using t-test analysis. The results of data analysis show that t count 6.141> t table 1.998 at a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that the Cooperative Tea Party Type learning model was effectively used in increasing students' German speaking skills

The purpose of this study was to obtain data related the effectiveness of the communicative approach in increasing students' German speaking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The data obtained were analyzed using the t-test formula. The results of data analysis showed t-count 7.45> t-table 2.002 at the level of α 0.05. The results showed that the communicative approach was effective in increasing students' speaking skills.

The purpose of this study was to know the effectiveness of the Rollenspiel model in increasing student’s speaking German skill. This study used quasy-experiment approach. Data was collected using speaking skill test. The sample in this study was random sampling, namely students of class XI IPA 1 which amounted to 20 students as an experimental class and students of class XI IPA 2 totaling 21 students as a control class. Data were analyzed by using t-Test analysis. The result of data analysis shows that th 4,28> tt 2,023 at significant level of 0.05. The results showed that Rollenspiel learning model is effectively used in the skill of speaking of German.

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of learning model of Ashwat. This research employs qualitative approach with a class action research technique. Results of this research is an Arabic language learning product about contrastive sound to improve Arabic language sound mastery for beginner native. The writer also found significant improvement, before and after learning. The comparative result shows, before the learning process participants who get excellent: 0%, very good: 0%, good: 0%, fair: 30%, minus: 10%, bad: 60% and after the treatment (post-test) the result is, Excellent: 90%, very good: 10%, good: 0%, fair: 0%, minus: 0%, bad: 0%.

This study focuses on analysing symbols in five song lyrics of The Who. This study aims at finding and analysing the meanings of symbols and the relationship between both points. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative. The data were analysed by using the theory of symbol by Shaw and Frye. The result of this study showed that the symbols in the five song lyrics of The Who are a reflection of the song writer’s feeling and experience of life. It is clear that his life biography of a song writer influences the song lyric he wrote

The purpose of this study was to obtain data related the effectiveness of serial image media in increasing students' simple German sentence writing skills. The design of this study is true Experimental Design (Pretest-Postest Control Group Design). Samples are selected randomly. Data were analyzed using t-test. The results of the analysis show that t-count 5.52 > t table 2.005 at a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that serial image media were effective in increasing students' simple German sentence writing skills.
