Abstract

This study aims to develop a LKPD based biological scientific approach on the subject matter of protista. The research design used is development research. A test target in this research is the grade X SMAN 4 Medan years lessons 2016/2017. Data collection was done by instrument in the form of questionnaire. File analysis using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The development of LKPD based biology scientific approach is done by using 3D model with stage define, design and develop. The results showed that the development of a scientific approach based LKPD based on expert assessment of the material obtained a score of 93% and the valuation expert learning obtained a score of 82% each with excellent category, while a small group of trial results obtained a score of 95% with the criteria very well. LKPD biology subject matter protists-based scientific approach that developed obtained the criteria very well and has fulfilled the requirements of eligibility for use as a medium of learning biology.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the relationship of emotional intelligence and intellectual intelligence to results of student’s biology learning about the nervous system on grade XI-IPA of senior haigh school at As-Syafi’iyah Medan 2016//2017. The population in this research were grade XI of senior high school consisting of 32 students and become the total sample. To obtain data of emotional intelligence used questionnaire and data of intellectual intelligence obtained from the standdard test that is type CFIT scale 3B. The result of student’s biology learning about the nervous system were taken using cognitive test to the student’s. The result of research show that the emotional intelligence score include in the enough category (108-155), the inteltual intelligence score include in the enough category (80-109) and the student’s biology learning score include in moderate category. For the data requirements test it is known that the population of the three variables is normally distributed and has homogeneus variance. From the calculation of correlation coefficients obtained price rxy (0,539259) with a contribution of 50% wich means there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, intellctual intelligence and student’s biology learning about the nervous system on grade XI-IPA of senior high school at SMA As-Syafi’iyah Medan 2016/2017.

Abstract

The aim of research is to know the effectiveness implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) to student learning outocomes in learning human excretion system in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman Academic Year 2016/2017. This type of research is a pre experimental. The research was conducted from April to Juni 2017. The samples included 33 people. The instrument used to collect data is multiple choice objective test consisting of 35 question. The results showed that the application of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) on subject matter of human excretion system can improve students mastery of subject matter that is ≥75%, the level of classical learning completeness 0f 94%, and the achievement of all indicators has ben fulfilled, namely 100%. Thus the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) categorized effective in learning human excretion system in CLASS XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Air Joman Academic Year 2016/2017.

Abstract

This study aims to develop inquiry based multimedia mathematics teaching materials that can improve the critical thinking skills of high school students in North Sumatera. This research was conducted in North Sumatera Province, from 2016 to 2018. The population of this research is all SMA in North Sumatera Province. The subject of this research is high school students. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling, which is choosing six SMA randomly with three SMA Negeri and three private SMA. To know the influence of mathematics materials based on inquiry of multi media aid developed used quasi experimental research design with control group post test only design. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observations, and tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique, t test and anava. Tests of research found inquiry learning model in groups make students dare to express opinions and accept opinions of others. Multilingual aided instructional learning model interacts with students early mathematical abilities of critical thinking skills. Initial students with moderate and higher category skills prefer to use multimedia-based inquiry learning models, whereas for early low-ability students it is better to use ordinary or expository learning models. Critical thinking ability of students more in the medium category that is equal to 38.71%, this means to improve critical thinking skills in this study need to note one of the 3rd limitation in giving more opportunities for students to think creatively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of learning on the subject matter of hormones in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Matauli Pandan Year Learning 2016/2017. The population in this study is all students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Matauli Pandan consisting of 11 classes with the number of students 324 students. The sample in this study was taken at random as many as 118 students. The methods undertaken in this research are quantitative descriptive. The research instrument uses the data taken with the problem of objective test and questionnaire. From the results of data processing known to have difficulty learning on hormonal material seen from the number of non-completion of students in completing the objective test of 83.05% high categorized. A thorough student has a score below 75 of 98 people given a questionnaire containing questions with 4 indicators of factors that affect student learning outcomes. Based on the result of questionnaire, it can be concluded that the factors that influence the mastery of the most dominant student learning are

Abstract

This study aims to improve students mathematical problem solving using problem based learning model in the comparison material in class VII SMP Negeri 4 Terrain FY 2016 / 2017. Subjects in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 4 Terrain FY 2016/2017 consists of eleven classes and taken two classes of class VII-4 and class VII-9 and the object of this study is to improve the ability of problem solving math students on the material ratio by applying problem based learning in class VII SMP Negeri 4 terrain TA 2016 / 2017. The research instrument used was a test, observation, interviews and documentation.This research is a classroom action research (PTK) consisting of two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. The results of this PTK is an act. Before giving the action, first administered tests the ability of the beginning and end of each cycle is given kemampan troubleshooting tests. From the analysis of data obtained by an increase in final test results problem-solving ability. The number of students who achieve mastery learning from its initial capability test 4 out of 35 students (11.43%) with the average grade 39.03. The results of data analysis in the first cycle after using problem-based learning model obtained the ability to understand the problems of students 81.08%, the level of student problem-solving abilities to plan 78.02%, the level of problem-solving ability to execute 72.25% and the rate of re-examine the problem solving abilities 52.43%, with the number of students who completed are 27 students from 37 students or 72.97% and yet achieve mastery class. The results of data analysis in the second cycle with problem-based learning model obtained the ability to understand the problems of students 82.70%, the level of student problem-solving abilities to plan 82.16%, the level of problem-solving ability to execute 80.18% and the level of problem solving ability to re-examine 67 , 29%, with the number of students who completed are 32 students from 37 students or (86.49%) that already achieve mastery classes, namely by 85%. Thus it can be concluded that by using problem-based learning model student mathematics problem solving ability can be improved

Abstract

The article was written as a response to the fact that the quality of mathematic teaching and learning is still relatively low. Teachers play an important role in determining the quality of education, because teachers are in the frontline of the whole education process. This article offers a solution so that teachers are aware of the importance of the understanding of management in the teaching plan. Based on theoretical study concerning the management application in the development of mathematic lesson plan and the Government Regulation No 14/2005 article 8 as well as the statute of the Directorate of Teaching Profession, the presence of lesson plan in every process of teaching and learning is required by the system and is a part of learning management.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types of errors and factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving problems, namely in the understanding of the concepts of geometry, geometrical reasoning, and problem solving of geometry skills with geometry. This study uses a qualitative approach and the type of research carried out is descriptive, where to answer the problems used information from student worksheets collected through giving a number of questions as many as 4 questions to students with a duration of 30 minutes. The subjects of this study were 23 students of SMA XI IPA 3. The results showed that students were still weak in their ability to think geometry in visualization, analysis, and abstraction.
