Abstract

[The Effectiveness of Offline Learning Post Pandemic in Mathematics Courses]. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the post-pandemic offline learning model at INSTKI in mathematics courses. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, where the population is all INSTIKI students who receive mathematics courses using the post-pandemic offline learning model. There were 60 INSTIKI students as a sample of research subjects, who were selected by cluster random sampling. Full offline learning is carried out by research subjects face-to-face with lecturers in class. Questionnaires were distributed for data collection via google form media, and analyzed with descriptive statistics. Evaluation of the effectiveness of re-implementing offline learning is seen from the aspects of satisfaction and understanding of the material being taught. From the aspect of satisfaction, the return to implementation of this offline learning model had a positive impact, as seen from 81.67% answering very satisfied, 11.67% satisfied, and 5.00% feeling quite satisfied. Only 1.67% felt dissatisfied and no one felt very dissatisfied. From the aspect of understanding the material being taught, it also shows good results with the return of offline learning. 63.33% answered that it was easy, even 18.33% answered very easily, and 15.00% answered that it was quite easy to understand. Only 3.33% found it difficult, and no one answered that it was very difficult to understand the material being taught with this offline learning. So it can be concluded that the return of post-pandemic offline learning is effective,when evaluated from the aspect of satisfaction and understanding.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to obtain the eligibility of the POGIL e-worksheet to improve students' critical thinking skills on reaction rate material in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria. The type of research was research and development using the ADDIE development model with three stages, Analyze, Design, and Development. The research was obtain validity from the validation sheet in terms of the eligibility of content, presentation, language, and design getting mode ≥ 3 so it was declared valid. Practicality was obtained from a response questionnaire supported by a student activity observation sheet. Overall practicality of the response questionnaire has 89.09% (very practical), while the learner activity observation sheet getting mode = 1. Effectiveness was obtained from the pretest and posttest of critical thinking skills supported by student learning results. The result of the critical thinking skills test got N-gain, 0.929 Interpretation, 0.722 Analysis, 0.694 Evaluation, 0.556 Inference, and 0.933 Explanation and obtained a significance value of 0 in the paired sample t-test so it was concluded there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills in reaction rate material after using POGIL e-worksheet. The learning outcomes test data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test has 0 probability value, then it can be concluded there is an increase in student learning outcomes in reaction rate material after using the POGIL e-worksheet. Based on the results of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, the development of the POGIL e-worksheet is feasible.

Abstract

This research intends to create a student worksheet that can be used to help students enchance their critical thinking skills. Validity, practicality, and effectiveness are taken into consideration when evaluating the viability of a student worksheet. The validity of the student worksheet is evaluated by specialists. Practice was based on student responses supported by activities during learning. Meanwhile, effectiveness was based on improving students' critical thinking skills in terms of classical learning completeness, N-gain, and non-parametric statistical tests. This research employed the Research and Development method devised by Borg and Gall, with 18 students from grade XI SMAN 20 Surabaya serving as research subjects. The research instruments used were validation sheets, response questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, and pretest and posttest question sheets. The results indicated that the student worksheet was usable. The evaluation results show the validity of the student worksheet, which received a score mode of 5 with a very good category. The practicality of student worksheet is seen from the positive response of students with a range of 88.9%-100% which is categorized as very practical. It is also supported by activities that are more relevant than irrelevant activities. The effectiveness of student worksheet is shown by the 89% completion of classical learning, medium and high N-gain criteria with successive percentages of 38.89% and 61.11%, and hypothesis tests with Sig. < 0.05 values.

Abstract

Monotonous learning will make students passive and only recipients of concepts. The purpose of this research was to describe the learning model missouri mathematics project (MMP) in improving learning outcomes in computer mathematics courses.This research was carried out on campus Institut Bisnis dan Teknologi Indonesia (INSTIKI). The subjects in this study were first semester students majoring in Informatics Engineering Class C for the 2022/2023 school year has 30 students. Data collection methods used are interviews, observation, questionnaire and test methods. Data analysis technique using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the increase in mathematics learning outcomes for students majoring in informatics engineering from cycle I obtained an average score on the mathematics test of 67.23 with a total of 30 students taking the test. Of the 30 students, 21 students still scored in the poor category and 9 in the good category and increased in cycle II with an average score of 73.83 with 30 students taking the test. Of the 30 students, 18 students still got grades in the good category, 7 students got the fair category and 5 people in the less category. Whereas the results of student responses to the MMP learning model received a positive response of 80% and a negative response of 20%.

Abstract

The problem with test instruments made by teachers tends to test more aspects of memory without honing the ability to think at a high level of students is what prompted this research. The purpose of this study was to develop a high level thinking test instrument designed for grade IX students on the theme of environmentally friendly energy. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) consisting of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision and product trials. This research resulted in the form of a high level thinking test instrument. The test instrument has been tested for feasibility based on expert validation obtaining a validity level of 98.36% (very valid) with details of material expert validation of 97.77% and science teacher experts of 98.96%. Based on the test of test instruments on 105 students measured by Anates software version 4.0.5, the results obtained 20 valid questions with moderate difficulty, reliability of 0.85 (high reliability) and good differentiating power as many as 5 questions and sufficient differentiating power as many as 15 questions. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test instrument with an overall product efficiency value obtained based on student responses is 89.12% (very efficient).  The results of the development of test instruments can be used for further research that will measure the level of ability with high level thinking in class IX students on the theme of environmentally friendly energy.

Abstract

Process skills and creativity in physics learning are associations of thinking. These two things are the main components of physics and the goals demanded by the 2013 curriculum. One learning model that can be applied to improve science process skills using a guided inquiry model based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This study aimed to describe the implementation of the guided inquiry model and STEM-based science process skills, as well as the effect of the STEM-based guided inquiry model on students' science process skills in the material of light waves in class XI IPA. This research method uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results represent that the STEM-based guided inquiry model was very well implemented. Students' science process skills have increased after applying the STEM-based guided inquiry model. The STEM-based guided inquiry model has a significant effect, with the paired t-test results showing that in the experimental class, the count≥ table is 17.42 ≥ 2.06, while the control class is 10.00 ≥ 2.06. The independent t-test results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes indicated with count> table, that is, 5.65 > 2.01.

Abstract

Gotu kola (Centella asiatica L. Urban) contains the active ingredient saponin, an asiaticoside compound that acts as an antibiotic and spurs the production of collagen I, a protein that accelerates the wound healing process. The purpose of this study was to formulate a gel material from ethanol extract of gotu kola herb that meets the requirements of a good gel. In this study, gotu kola saponins were obtained from the extraction process carried out using a stirred extractor at 65°C, 350 rpm and 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 minutes. Identification of saponins was done using FTIR (Fourier Transform InfraRed). The gel formulation was made with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. A mass transfer coefficient of 0.01240 min-1 was obtained. The IR spectrum results showed the presence of O-H groups, C-H alkane groups (CH2, CH3), C=O carbonyl groups and C-O ester groups. The results of the evaluation carried out with the three gel concentrations in the organoleptic test, pH test, viscosity test, stability test, adhesion test and spread ability test met the requirements of a good gel.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the implementation of the virtual lab-assisted guided inquiry model to analyze the results of increasing critical thinking skills in class XI students after implementing the virtual lab-assisted guided inquiry model on the material of light waves. GroupDesign. The subjects used in this study were 60 class XI students. The instruments used in this study were pretest and posttest question sheets. The data obtained in this study were tested by prerequisite tests on pretest and posttest values which included normality tests and homogeneity tests, then different tests were carried out with dependent t-tests, independent t-tests and N-Gain tests. Based on the results and discussion of the research, it can be concluded that the results of increasing the critical thinking skills of class XI students in the light wave material after implementing the virtual lab-assisted guided inquiry learning model experienced a significant increase and are in the high category. In the control class, the results of increasing the critical thinking skills of class XI students in the light wave material after the implementation of the conventional learning model experienced a significant increase and were in the high category. There is a difference in the results of increasing critical thinking skills in the experimental and control classes as shown by the independent t-test which produces    = 5,72  2.

Abstract

This research developed learning media based on animated videos, namely AFIKA. AFIKA specifically focuses on impulse and momentum as a learning topic. This study proposes to enhance student learning outcomes and confirm the feasibility of applying AFIKA in class. This study describes the validity assessment, the evaluation of learning implementation using AFIKA, and the learning evaluation results obtained from the pre-test and post-test assessments. This study applied the PIE development model, which comprises three stages: Plan (planning), Implementation (implementation), and Evaluate (evaluation). Data was collected through the expertise of validators to determine the validity of the media; Observers were responsible for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of learning activities in the classroom; Students provided feedback through response questionnaires, and their performance was assessed through pre-test and post-test evaluations. This study got 32 students from class X-3 of One of the Islamic High Schools in Gresik as the participants. The research instrument utilized a Likert scale to measure the scores. The findings of the conducted development research indicate that the AFIKA media, focusing on the topics of impulse and momentum in physics, achieved a validity score of 98.99% across material, media, and language aspects, indicating a high level of validity. Implementing learning activities using AFIKA media in class X-3 was highly successful, achieving a percentage of 98.66%. The overall response from students towards AFIKA media was positive. There was an improvement in the learning outcomes of class X-3 students in the physics of impulse and momentum after the implementation of AFIKA media, with an average N-Gain of 0.288, indicating a low level of improvement. The results suggest that AFIKA's animated video media on impulse and momentum material is practical and suitable for implementation. However, it may have a limited impact on increasing learning outcomes, which various factors could influence.

Abstract

Learning media has a very vital role in the learning process. Learning media that are in accordance with current learning are technology-based media. Learning by using technology has the advantage of being able to provide learning opportunities anytime and anywhere. This study aims to analyze the results of the validity of the DaDi Pinter application as a media-based learning mobile learning to improve cognitive learning outcomes in dynamic fluid material. This study uses the ADDIE development method. Three stages are used: analysis, design, and development. The analysis phase is carried out by analyzing the material, needs, and habits of students. The design stage is carried out by designing the appearance and content of the DaDi Pinter application. Furthermore, the development stage is carried out by validating and revising the DaDi Pinter application based on input and suggestions from the validator. The validity of the DaDi Pinter application was assessed using a scale likert. Media experts and material experts assess the validity of the DaDi Pinter application. Media validation assessment is seen from the appearance design, program operation, navigation, and usability. Material validation assessment consists of aspects of material quality and material usefulness. The data analysis technique was carried out by calculating the validity results of the DaDi Pinter application from 3 validators. The results showed that the validity of the DaDi Pinter application on the media obtained an average percentage of 96% with a very valid category. The results showed that the validity of the DaDi Pinter application was 98%. Based on the results of this validity, the DaDi Pinter application is very valid and can be used in learning.
