Abstract

Background: Nausea and vomiting are often ignored because they are considered as a normal consequence at the beginning of pregnancy without knowing the great impact they can cause. The incidence of nausea and vomiting occurs in 60-80% primigravida and 40-60% multigravida. If nausea and vomiting in pregnant women is not immediately carried out further action causes pregnant women to be malnourished so that the fetus does not get adequate nutrition and can have an impact on the fetus it contains. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of JSJ massage (Jin Shin Jyutsu) on Emesis Gravidarum on pregnant women in PMB Ika Mardiyanti, Jedong Cangkring Village, Prambon Sub-District, Sidoarjo District, East Java Province, Indonesia.Method: This study used an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was taken by consecutive sampling. The method of collecting data uses primary data, by applying JSJ Massages (Jin Shin Jyutsu) and performing anamnesas against emesis gravidarum experienced by pregnant women. Data analysis using McNemar Test and Mann Withney U Test. Results: The results showed that respondents aged low risk (20-35 years) were 20 respondents (66.66%); had good nutritional status (LILA> 23.5 cm); as many as 25 respondents (83.33%); and had low risk parity (children <5), as many as 21 respondents (70.00%). Statistical analysis with McNemar Test obtained ρ = 0.125> α = 0.05, meaning that there was no effect of JSJ massage on emesis gravidarum. The Mann Withney U Test results obtained ρ = 0.217> α = 0.05, meaning there is no difference between the intervention group and the control group. Conclusion: The results showed that there was no effect of giving JSJ massage to emesis gravidarum in pregnant women. It is expected that midwives will increase information and education communication (IEC) about the handling of emesis gravidarum both pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically so as not to become pathological and have an impact on the mother and the fetus. Keywords: Massage Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ), emesis gravidarum, pregnant women.

To maintain the baby's body temperature to remain normal, an effort must be made. Hypothermia baby handling in BPS is to provide a warm light to increase the baby's body temperature by giving 100 watts of light. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) on the body temperature of newborns. Methods: The research design used was experimental research with the design of the quassy experiment. The independent variable is the body temperature of newborns without Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD). The dependent variable is the body temperature of a newborn with Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD). The population of all maternity women is 20 people. The sample from this study were 16 maternity respondents. Sampling using accidental sampling method. The research was conducted at BPS Heppy Rina, S.ST, Seduri Village - Mojosari and BPS Fifit, S.ST, Panjer Village - Mojosari. Data collection uses primary data. The instrument used is a thermometer and checklist. Data is presented in the frequency distribution table and analyzed using the Willcoxon test. Results: The results showed that almost all newborns without IMD had hypothermia (43.74%), most newborns with IMD had normal body temperature (37.5%), Willcoxon test results ρ 0.025 <0.05, then H1 was accepted which meant there was an influence of initiation Early Breastfeeding (IMD) on the body temperature of newborns at BPS Heppy Rina, S.ST Seduri Village - Mojosari and BPS Fifit, S.ST Panjer Village - Mojosari. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study obtained early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) affects the body temperature of newborns. Background: Speech delay is a problem that occurs in society commonly found in children. One of the factors affecting language development is the early sensory perception stimulation. Objectives: This study was purposed to analyze the correlation between early sensory perception stimulation and language development in children aged 12-24 months. Methods: This observational study was conducted using a cross-sectional approach. It involved 34 parents and their children aged 12-24 months as the population, in which 32 parents and their children were taken as the samples using simple random sampling technique. The independent variable was the early sensory perception stimulation, whereas the dependent variable was language development. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire and observation sheets. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation test with the significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The results of this study showed that nearly all of the respondents (89.5%) provided their children with the early sensory perception stimulation sufficiently. Consequently, most of the children (62.5%) experienced language development sufficiently. Moreover, the correlation test using Spearman's rank test showed that Sig. = 0.000 (p < 0.05) illustrating that p <α so that Ho was rejected. This result showed that there was a correlation between early sensory perception stimulation and language development in children aged 12-24 months. Conclusion: The early sensory perception stimulation which is given well to children will result in optimal language development. Hence, the health workers, especially the nurses, are expected to provide the family with a counseling program about the importance of giving the early sensory perception stimulation to children to optimize their language development.
