Abstract

Poor personal hygiene can be a factor supporting the development of skin diseases such as scabies. In Indonesia the scabies disease numerous in boarding school. One of the things that support the transmission of scabies is personal hygiene students who are not good. The study aimed to determine the relationship of personal hygiene with the incidence of scabies on students Al Falah male boarding school students at sub-district of Liang Anggang in the year 2016. This research is an analytic observational with cross sectional design. The sample of research are students of Al Falah for boys boarding school Sub-district of Liang Anggang as many as 127 people. Data analysis using statistical Chi-square test (X2). The results showed among 127 students, 59 of them in a poor condition of personal hygiene 53 of them categorized affected with scabies (89.8 %). While the remaining 68 students were in a good condition of personal hygiene with 23 of them having scabies (33.8%). X2 test results showed that there was a significant relationship, personal hygiene with the incidence of scabies on students boarding school Al Falah for boys Sub-district of Liang Anggang in the year 2016 at p-value = 0.000. Efforts should be made to reduce the incidence of scabies among others: showering twice a day using clean water, use personal belongings are not mutually borrowing, keep clean hands and nails, hygiene clothing and cleanliness of the bed.

Abstract

Menstrual pain can reduce activities. A preliminary study showed that 80% of the students of STIKES Aisyiyah Surakarta experienced the menstrual pain. A non-pharmacological intervention to reduce the menstrual pain can be done through the execution of warm compress and back massage. The aim of this study was to investigate the difference of pain reduction between warm compress and back massage on menstrual pain among the students of STIKES Aisyiyah Surakarta. This was a quasy experimental research with the non-randomized control group pretest posttest design. Thirdty students STIKES Aisyiah became the research subject. The result of Paired T Test showed that the mean of warm compress= 2.400, with the p-value= 0.000 was greater than that of back massage= 1.267 with the p-value= 0.002.This indicated that there was a difference between the two methods as the warm compress was more effective than back massage on reducing menstrual pain. In time to come, midwifes should conduct counseling on menstrual pain with natural and safe warm compress.

Abstract

Tomato (Lycopersicum commune) contains potassium and lycopene which has the effect blood pressure. The study aims to understand the effect of tomato juice in menopause women with hypertension. This was a pre experimental research. The population was menopausal women and hypertension case amount 11 persons, using total sampling. The research instrument was observational paper dan sphigmanometer. The research result was analyzed by normality test of Shapiro-Wilk test. Statistical test with Wilcoxon test. The research result shown there is no difference mean value between blood pressure before and after treated by tomato juice. They are 6,00 mmHg (systole) and 1,82 mmHg (diastole). Data analyzed by It is 0,05. obtains p value systole 0,072 and diastole 0,334 where p value < α, this H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. The analysis result shown there is no difference between blood pressure before and after treated by tomato juice at Posyandu Kantil sub-district of Mojoroto, Kediri. Based on the research result revealed there are still many shortcomings that research do so very influential on the final result, and is expected to be study in the future.

Abstract

Menstrual pain occurs due to the imbalance of the hormones which will cause the uterine muscles to contract and lead to colic pain. Approximately 50 % of women worldwide and 90 % of Indonesian women suffer from menstrual pain. Pharmacological therapy is the most popular treatment used to relieve menstrual pain. Unfortunately, it leads to indisputable side effects on health. Therefore, safety alternative treatments such as dysmenorrhea gymnastics are signifficantly needed to improve bloodstream in the uterus and produce endorphins which can relieve menstrual pain. The aim of the study wasto determine the effectiveness of dysmenorrhea gymnastics to relieve the level of menstrual pain. The method of study is systematic review on 14 studies of the efectiveness of exercise dysmenorrhea gymnastics to relieve menstrual pain. The results obtained are dysmenorrhea gymnastcs can relieve menstrual pain with a mean value of 4.006. Conclusion: dysmenorrhea gymnastics can relieve menstrual pain and better done in the afternoon.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding until 6 month is very important for baby. The proportion of mothers who exclusively breastfeed their babies up to 6 months remains low. Factors influencing the exclusive breastfeeding namely sociodemograph factors , factors pre / post delivery , and psychosocial factors. This aims of this study to identify determinant factors of exclusive breastfeeding on mother. This research method is a systematic review , by analyzing the various studies on exclusive breastfeeding. There are 17 studies. The results obtained occupational factors most studied with significant results ( median OR = 1.265 ). Psychosocial factors that have significant relationship is support of her husband (average OR = 4.716 ) and family support ( average OR = 1.770 ). Conclusions : factors influencing the exclusive breastfeeding is occupational factor. Socialization and support from people nearby, health workers, and all parties is needed for exclusive breastfeeding for six months can be achieved.

Abstract

Indonesia according to the Global Health Observatory (GHO-WHO) report 2010, entered the group of countries with the lowest alcohol consumption (<2,5 liters / person / capita). It should be understood that the situasion of alcohol abuse in Indonesia is relatifly complex. The influence of local traditions as well as the lack of policies related to production, distribution, and consumption of alcohol is believed to be a time bomb. This paper aims to capture the general description of the problem of alcohol abuse in Indonesia, to analyze the determinants of the problem through 4 aspects (social, economic, cultural, and environment), to analyze the the issue through the SWOT method, as well as an opportunity to formulate remedies through CARAT approach. The method used in this paper is the descriptive analitycs through an analysis of secondary data. From the study obtained information that in the period 2008-2010 the number of alcoholic beverages are relatively fixed and not significantly changed (0.6 liters / person / capita). The national prevalence of alcohol abuse in 2007 was 4.6%, which is the highest number is the province NTT (17.7%) while the lowest is NAD (0.4%). Through SWOT analysis, strengthen policies and regulations on the production and distribution of alcoholic beverages become a strategic choice for the problem of alcohol abuse soloution. And through CARAT approach, Indonesia is expected to overcome the problem of alcohol abuse in the next 1-2 decades.

Abstract

As one of the particulate chemicals, dust could occur in most of the production process and can create interference for workers health and safety. As one of the air pollution sources, dust could became a potential hazard which exist in room maintenances. Protection to workers is a must in order to reduce the risk of respiratory tract syndrome that often could be found in this cases. The aim of this study is to conduct a risk assessment to dust exposure in room maintenance, which held by contractors in PT. X (Persero) building in Surabaya. This is an cross sectional study with obsevation approach. The object of this research is the repairing works. The results indicate that the activities which could produce dust, such as: walls sanding using sandpaper, the tiles dismantle, sawmilling, the wood fiber refining, grinding, mixing and stirring cast materials, and room cleaning. Dust produced from a variety of works including sanddust, cement, lime, wood and dust mixed with paint. The results show that three types of works considere as high-risk activity (value > 12-25), 3 types of work consider as midle risk activities (value > 5-12), and one activity considered as a low-risk work (grades 1-5). The dusk factors controlling should be held regularly, in order to minimize the risk leveln againts the workers.

Abstract

Infant massage is a traditional child care whose efficacy has been proven. Therefore, the mothers need to get a health extension on the correct infant massage techniques so that they can do infant massage practice autonomously. This research aim to investigate the effect of infant massage extension on the infant massage practice by mothers in Tugu village, Jumantono sub-district, Karanganyar regency. The research used pre-experimental research method with the one group pretest-posttest design. Its samples consisted of 57 respondents and were taken by using proportional random sampling technique. The data of research were collected through checklist and analyzed by using the Wilcoxon test aided with the computer program of SPSS. Prior to the infant massage extension, the average score was 10.8, the highest score was 14, and the lowest score was 8. Following the extension, the average score was 25.6, the highest score was 29, and the lowest score was 21 as indicated by the score of Wilcoxon test in which the score of ZÂ was -6.583 and the significance value was p = 0.000. Infant massage extension had an effect on the infant massage practice by mothers.

Abstract

Hypothermia became one of the primary cause on the high babies mortality in Indonesia, with the occurrence percentage reached 6.8%. Hypothermia which became the cause of death was directly related to the low-level knowledge and attitude in the 0 to 28 days infants treatment. The research aimed to investigated the relationship between the mother’s knowledge on hypothermia with the their attitude in preventing hypothermia in infants at the ages 0 to 28 days Magersari Magelang Public Health Center working area. This is an observational analytic research with cross sectional design. Fifty-nine respondents acted as research sample and choosed with total sampling as a sampling technique and questionnaire as a research instrument. The Spearman’s Rank was used to analyzed the data. Respondents with a good knowledge about the hypothermia reached 32 peoples (68.2%) and 33 peoples (71.7%) have a positive attitude in the hypothermia prevention in infants with the ages 0 to 28 days. Spearman analysis generated 0.001 ρ value ( ρ < 0.05 ). The value of the correlation ( r ) reached 0.850, with the meaning there was a relationship between the mother knowledge of hypothermia with mother’s attitude in hypothermia prevention in infants at the ages 0 to 28 days.
