Abstract

The trend of drinking coffee has resulted in an increase of coffee consumption around the world, including Indonesia. This study investigates the roles of sensory attributes, functional benefit, and brand ambassador towards the intention to repurchase which leads to brand loyalty of Luwak White Coffee. This study uses a quantitative approach by using primary data and distributed questionnaires to 100 employees of various corporations in Jakarta. The data was analyzed through regression analysis. The result of this study shows that functional benefit has a significant influence on both intentions to repurchase and brand loyalty. This benefit factor is the most important precedent to both repurchase intention and brand loyalty.  On the other hand, sensory attributes do not affect repurchase intention. This type of information can be important to predict or to explain the market response to luwak coffee products, and also to select which sensory attribute should be included in a sensory specification or must be considered in product quality control programs. Another important finding is that, contrary to our expectations, we do not find empirical support for the significant influence of brand ambassador on an intention to repurchase and brand loyalty. The explanation may be that customers currently expect the functional benefit in the form of healthier gastric-friendly white coffee. Moreover, the brand ambassador may not be too influential in the high buying decision among luwak coffee consumers. The relevant contributions that emerged from this study include not only bridging the aforementioned gap in the literature but also offering significant managerial implications to assist organizations to understand the importance of functional benefits toward repurchase intention and brand loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the experiences of fishermen's wives working in balancing the dual roles of work and family, as well as the factors that can influence it. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data analysis technique in this research uses the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. The researcher managed to conclude that there were five main themes including; a picture of life at work, the dynamics of life in the family, a picture of life undergoing multiple roles, the factors that influence the dual role of fishermen's wives and exploration of achieving balance in playing multiple roles. The role of being a housewife in a family and working to help the family economy begins when fishermen's wives choose to work after marriage. The encouragement of fishermen's wives to keep working after marriage is due to uncertain family income. This is also because their husband's catch depends on the season. Erratic season affects the fishermen's catch. One of the encouragement of fishermen's wives to work is to actualize their potential and abilities and to meet family needs

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of both internal and external factors that determine the dividend payout ratio of non-financial companies listed in the IDX High dividend 20 during the period of 2015-2019. The independent variables of the company's internal factors are return on assets, earnings per share, and debt to equity ratio. The independent variables of the company's external factors are interest rates and inflation. The control variable used in this study is firm size. There were 13 companies listed in IDX High Dividend 20 by using the purposive sampling method. Data analysis used panel data regression which was analyzed three times by grouping the dividend payout ratio, low dividend, and high dividend. The results showed that the return on assets had a significant negative effect on the combined dividend payout ratio with a probability value (0.0309) and high dividend with a probability value (0.0067) smaller than the significance level (5%), but had no significant effect on the low dividend with a probability value (0.3283) greater than the significance level (5%). Earnings per share has no significant effect on the combined dividend payout ratio with a probability value (0.4151), low dividend with a probability value (0.1164), and high dividend with a probability value (0.3835) greater than the significance level (5%). It can be concluded that return on assets earning per share, firm size, and debt to equity ratio have an effect on dividend payout ratio.

Abstract

Indonesia and the Philippines are the two biggest archipelagic countries in the world spanning more than 25,000 islands. This made both states rich in marine natural resources and were considered to be the global centers of marine biodiversity. With the said availability of aquatic resources, both countries have also experienced the exploitation of these assets by people aiming to make profit from overfishing and illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing practices. As such, the authors saw the merit of exploring the recently-implemented policies of both countries aiming to protect and preserve their marine natural resources. These were vital in assessing its effects on the human consumption of fisheries and triangulating the effectivity and efficiency of the said aquatic-related public policies. This study presented the concrete actions that both Indonesia and the Philippines took to battle illegal poaching by Chinese fishermen in the latter’s waters, prevent the marine exploitation of fishing operations from the former, and the establishment of community-based marine preservations that gave permanent employment to its population and improved their way of living.
