However, knowing learner’s English learning motivation is an urgent variable to be considered in creating conducive atmosphere classroom which will raise the learners to do more toward speaking achievement. The aim of this study is to know and describe the English learning motivation affecting students’ speaking ability of 48 students of XI grade of science program at catholic senior of Saint Ignasius Loyola Labuan Bajo, West Flores, Indonesia. Correlation design with purposive procedure applied in this research. Data were collected through questionnaire, interview, and students’ speaking document. Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the difference of students’ civics achievement between those who are taught by Think Pair Share model based on concept mapping and those who are taught by conventional learning model of the fifth grade students in Elementary School of Cluster I in Petang District. It is a quasi-experimental research using non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this research is 102 students in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District. The samples of this research are fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Carangsari as experimental group and fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Carangsari as control group. The data of civics achievement were collected by using multiple choice tests. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The result showed that tcount= 3,83 and ttable = 2,03 (tcount>ttable) which can be concluded that there are significant difference between the students’ civics achievement between those who were taught by Think Pair Share learning model based on concept mapping and those who were taught by the conventional learning model in grade V in Elementary School of Cluster I Petang District of Badung Regency in academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

Phonological awareness is ability to segment the syllables and phonemes heard in speech. It is also the most important behavioral index to measure the development of reading skill. Children who had problems or impairments in phonological awareness will perform high-risk for reading skill mastery which is the most important skill in early education level. The current study aims to evaluate the effect of Word-Sound Therapy in improving phonological awareness and speech production in single word segment level. The subject of the study is a child, 5 years of age, who met the diagnostic criterias for Phonological Disorder according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). The Word-Sound Therapy is used as an intervention which include series of phonological awareness tasks and inserting the speech production training between the phonological awareness activities to improve phonemic awareness. This research is using a multiple baseline across behavior design. The qualitative data analysis was conducted using behavioral approach, Response Antecedents Consequences-Strength (RAC-S). Visual inspection was also used to observe the emergence of target behaviors. Result showed that Word-Sound Therapy is improving child’s ability in identifying similarity and analyze the last phoneme in words. Result also showed that this therapy could be used for children at minimum 5 years of age, had normal IQ, and needs a phonological awareness intervention especially focused in rhyme detection and last phoneme isolation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the significant influence of Quantum learning based with mind mapping towards the results of science achievement of fifth grade elementary students of Cluster I in Kuta Utara district in academic year of 2017/2018. It was quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research was 339 fifth grade students in Cluster I in Kuta Utara district. The sample was chosen by random sampling. It was obtained that fifth grade A students of SD No. 7 Dalung (34 students) as experimental group and the fifth grade A students of SD No. 4 Dalung (28 students) as control group. The data were collected by using objective test of multiple choice. Around 40 items have been validated. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics of t-test analysis. Based on the result of t-test analysis, there were obtained tvalue = 6,778 and ttable (at a significance level of 5% with dk = (34+28)-2 = 60) = 2,000. This indicated that tvalue > ttable so it could be concluded that there was significant difference of science achievement between the groups taught by Quantum Learning based with Mind Map and the groups taught by Conventional Learning. It can be concluded that there was the effect of Quantum learning model with mind mapping towards the science achievement of fifth-grade elementary students of Cluster I in Kuta Utara district in academic year of 2017/2018.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Science Learning Model, Environment, Technology, Society assisted Environmental media on Science Competence of grade V students. The type of this research was quasi experiment with non-equivalent group design. The population in this study was the entire class V in the Srikandi cluster East Denpasar amounted to 362 students. The sample of this research was class V of SDN 5 Sumerta were 28 students as experimental group and class V of SDN 10 Sumerta were 28 students as control group. Data collected with multiple choice test instruments, then was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). Based on the data analysis, tcount = 2.500 and ttabel (5% significance level) = 2,000. This means that tcount = 2,500> ttabel = 2,000. There was a significant difference of science competence between groups of students who was taught by science learning model, Environment, Technology, Society assisted Environmental media and group of students which is learn through conventional learning. The average value of science competence of the experimental group ( ) is 79.00 while the mean score of control group students ( ) is 74.07. This means =79,00 > =74,07, so it can be concluded that the application of learning model of Science, Environment, Technology, Society assisted Environmental media influenced the competence of science. Based on the results of this study it is suggested that the results of this study can be used as a relevant study, especially as supporting the next research.
