Abstract

Power plants produce electrical energy that will be distributed to consumers. Hence, the power plant is expected to be in a condition which means it can reliably provide electricity continuously with good quality. So as to improve the reliability and continuity of service, the operation of power systems require a safety equipment or protection system to prevent disturbances that disrupt the system. Protection system is an important component to maintain the continuity and reliability of the distribution of electrical energy. Protection system serves to protect equipment from damage in the event of disturbances and minimize disruptions from spreading. With good protection system, the unwanted loss can be avoided, especially in the vital equipment such as generators and transformers. One of the equipment that plays a role in the protection system is a differential protection relays are used to protect generators and transformers. This relay protects the generator and transformer from internal disturbances such short circuit between phases or short circuit of phase to ground. This rele works based on the current setting and operating time has been determined so that it can work quickly and precisely targeted.

Abstract

PT PJB Muara Karang power plant is an industry with a large electrical energy consumption for auxiliary power. In ISO50001 itensitas Energy Consumption (IKE) is a great need to audit energy consumption. In the contract the company's performance also set a percentage of personal use should not exceed 6% of the electricity production. Currently Posentase usage of own consumption at power plant unit 5 is greater than the power plant unit 4. It is necessary for an energy audit for the usage of its own in order to decrease the percentage of personal use in the power plant 5 0.5% of the current conditions and find energy savings opportunities in the power plant unit 5.To analyze this problem using energy audits, analyzes the performance test method using "gate cycle" and testing the quality of the voltage source by using the power quality measurement analysis. Having found the equipment with the largest energy comsumtion fish bone tools used to find the main cause of this disorder.

Abstract

Development economy in the district of Tangerang increased significantly, especially in the areas of industrial. This pushes the level of demand for electrical energy is growing. To meet these needs, it is necessary to mobilize the distribution of electricity to customers as well as possible. In this regard, it takes the addition of new distribution systems in blocks that have not been connected to the distribution network of customers. Before you realize it must be done before the planning process to consider several aspects of the construction, operation, and maintenance of the system. There are some indications that influence the course and outcome of planning such as customer load calculation, load characteristics, network pattern, as well as the voltage drop distribution substation site selection, to obtain a satisfactory planning. Great power to be distributed to every warehouse or factory in Warehousing Arcadia Block G20 is 2.200 VA, 33.000 VA and 66.000 VA with equitable division. The planning process is influenced by the circumstances in carrying out development in accordance with the target of a predetermined time.

Abstract

Power transformers are one of the important equipment in the electric power system. Power transformers are devices with the largest investment in a transmission and distribution substations. Currently, the use of power transformers at Marunda substations on average has reached 80% of rated load. Then require maximum of cooling transformers, to restrain the rate of the winding and oil temperature rise. Result of the research were obtained with the addition of water cooling at power transformers can be reduce the heat due to the high ambient temperatures. The results showed a decrease in temperature of 3°C, so can be used to add transformers loading of 2,51 MW. While of water consumption was 2,052 m3 per day.

Abstract

In Indonesia, especially at PT PLN (Persero), SCADA has been known and started to be implemented in the control of electric power systems since the early 1980s in many other countries that are more advanced, SCADA application is growing in line with the development of computer technology and telecommunications. By the time the development is not as sophisticated SCADA now, there are thought to facilitate maneuvers on a system that is simple to use SCADA network we can supply additional power or power outage easily do so overloaded that did not happen. After implementing a SCADA system occurred saving time for 2906 minutes or 48.44 hours, and the frequency of outages 4 times less than that before implementing the SCADA system. This means that the reliability index SAIDI and SAIFI much better at the moment after the implementation of the SCADA system.

Abstract

In power systems, particularly in medium voltage 20 kV feeder that are its length exceeds 100 kms the same thing is found in many tissues PT. PLN (Persero) outside Java island for example in South Sumatra in feeder Tomat Mariana substation 105,094 kms in length and threshold voltage feeder receive Tomat at 16,397 kV. According to the standards established by SPLN: 72 of 1987 in the amount of 5% to JTM with radial configuration in this paper will discuss what steps need to be done to correct the voltage at the feeder Tomat Mariana substation with the help of ETAP 12.6.0 application using methods repair replacement Conductor , installation of capacitors and transformers Tap settings.

Abstract

Utilization of solar cell technology as a source of electrical energy in Indonesia is still not well developed whereas Indonesia is located on the equator so it gets abundant sunshine. Technology should be maintained for the future of technology is environmentally friendly, one PLTS. SPP is a power generation system that converts solar energy into electricity through a photovoltaic module that is included in the green energy to become a renewable generator. The results show for the time being the use of solar systems, especially at the train station to meet its electricity needs not be economically viable. This is due to the high investment cost of solar systems compared with the cost of electricity purchased from conventional sources. However, sensitivity analyzes carried outshowed solar systems became feasible in some conditions.

Abstract

A warship has its own power plant which directly supply and distribute to meet its electrical power demand. On a warship which operated by Satuan Amphibi Komando Armada Republik Indonesia Kawasan Barat TNI AL, KRI Teluk Celukan Bawang 532 has 4 diesel generators located in engine room. This 4 diesel generators have a parallel connection and alternately work with the change of electrical load. The change of electric load based on a warship operating conditions. Power supply on the warship needs to generate and maintain a constant electric voltage and frequency, as well as a sufficient power when a warship is docking, before sailing and sailing. A calculation of elecric loads is very important to choose the capacity and the number of generator used with limitedspace on a warship.

Abstract

Medium voltage feeders are a means for the distribution of electricity from substations to consumers. But in reality these feeders often experience interference, among other is interference onthe low voltage network, especiallyCircuit For Low Voltage Device. Circuit For Low Voltage Device (PHB-TR) is device used as a liaison, security, and dividers electrical power from an electric power source to the customer. Over time, the PHB-TR also decreased quality of service so that should be their efforts to overcome the problems in order to maintain or restore the initial achievement level and can operate with high reliability so that the continuity of the electrical service will be achieved. The disturbances that can occur in this PHB-TR as damage to the NH fuse, corona contained in ground plate, over current and damage to the measuring instrument.Additionally by overcoming the interference can secure the assets of PLN from the interferences and reduce the cost of replacing broken tools.

Abstract

With increasing energy needs of electricity for industry and new customers in the crowded settlements, especially along the coastal areas of Beautiful Kapok, readiness and availability of resources to increase the burden of customers need efforts and appropriate measures. One of the most easy and safe to transmit electrical energy is by Splitting the load. The aim in this study is to determine the way and site selection as well as calculate the imposition of new penyulang. The distribution of electric energy from the parent booths toward the consumers can do with the distribution of direct or indirect distribution. Via Penyulang 20 kV distribution with the selected cable channels-free cable is a requirement of the disorder, in an effort to increase the quality of the distribution. In the system of electric power supply, voltage general conditions let it send penyulang allowed (5%-10%) according to the standard PLN. While according to ANSI standard C84, paragraph 1 is (4% and-10%) under normal conditions. The current that flows through the penyulang must not exceed the limit of the ability distribution against the denseness of the load. So that the required voltage quality is better. As for who should be taken into account in determining the location of the new building of the penyulang is based on the Division of the burden, then choose the type of cable that well that is kind of XLPE cable 240 mm2 aluminum as a necessary investment.
