Kajian Semiotika Sumping Sekar Kluwih Wayang Kulit Purwa Sugeng Nugroho

This article talks about the aesthetic and symbolic meaning of sumping sekar kluwih in Surakarta purwa shadow puppet eith hermeneutic approach and semiotic analysis. Based on the aesthetic study, the decision of sumping model depends on space aspect and proportion with other accessories which are accessories which are close and/or related to it covering : sanggul, irah-irahan and praba. According to symbolic study sumping sekar kluwih is used by the character in shadow puppet that have character, attitude,cleverness,supernatural power,behavior, and/or live journey which is : (1) more than character positively (Java: Luwih ing sapepadha);(2) unusual(java: linuwih); and (3) unnatural or excessive (java : Kliwat).Keyword : sekar kluwih, sumping of purwa shadow puppet, semiotics.

The less of the youth interest toward wayang is caused by the transmission system stagnancyof wayang and the decrease of commitment to make wayang closer to them. Besides, thetechnology progress and media publication bring the transparancy for the youth tofollow thetrend of instant arts outside their own culture. The effort to get their interest is bytrying to lovewayang progressively and simultaneously. Wayang development is based on theIndonesianvalues. It needs to design an alternative model of Indonesian wayangdevelopment as an effortto increase the youth interest toward wayang. Strategy of wayang developing is executed bydetermining the target; composing public segmentation; arranging model concept; buildingcooperation; designing the various model of wayang developing; socializing the model to thepublic; and keeping the continuity. The wayang developing is led to focus on the mannerseducation and the extension of the creative industry to sustain the nation building.Keywords: model of wayang developing, the youth, value, strategy, manners.

KAJIAN SOSIOPRAGMATIK TINDAK TUTUR ASERTIF DALAM ADEGAN LIMBUKAN S., Suratno

This study aims to describe the verbal interaction behavior in the dialogue of two female panakawanin wayang purwa performance by Ki Purbo Asmoro. The analysis is focused on (1) identifying thekind of assertive speech act, deciding the dominant speech act, (2) conveying the speechimplicature and describing the implementation of assertive speech act in relation to Griceâ€™s cooperative principles. The findings include once, the assertive speech act consists of: a. informing, b.telling, c. thinking, d. convincing, e. responding, f. ensuring, g. confirming, h. estimating, i.remembering, and j. implicating. The dominant assertive speech act from all the kinds is â€œinformingâ€ speech act. Secondly, based on the dominant conventional implicature and thirdly, there isintentionally infraction of Griceâ€™s cooperative principles in order to get the audiencesâ€™ sympathy aswell as to make them happy, and also to convey the explicit speech and to fulfill the politenessprinciples.Keywords: assertive speech act, implicature, and implementation.

The term of sanggit in Surakarta puppetry is well known and its existence cannot be separated. For the reason, a dalang should prepare sanggit lakon which will be presented when he would like to have performance because garap sanggit produces certain effect to the audiences. In Javanese view, lakon Baratayuda is still believed to be sacred for it has strong magic. That is why a dalang who would like to perform Baratayuda should be careful in making sanggit lakon that will be presented. Joko Santoso is one pf the dalang who often present lakon Baratayuda. How his sanggit lakon is and he is always constant or not in his presentation. This article would like to explain one of his sanggit is presenting Baratayuda for bersih desa in Turus Polanharjo, Klaten in 2002.Keyword : Baratayuda, sanggit lakon

This article will study the exploiting of language medium to get the certain effect of catur in the puppet plays. One of the language mediums that can be exploited in the form of the usage of sound language related to rime rhythm. The study of rime or purwakanthi involves purwakanthi guru swara, basa and sastra indicate that there is an existence of sound similarity at nearby words. It can strengthen the compability of rhythm and create the atmosphere and also certain impression. It can be happened because of contact of sharpened hearing sense that will be able to feel the beauty, compatibility in sound which emergency successive and oreder.Key words : purwakanthi, catur, puppet plays

This paper aims to uncover problems about: (1) How the effects of ecological changes on the life of the puppets of Thengul Ngawi and (2) How the effects of ecological changes on the aesthetics of the puppet show Thengul Ngawi. The problems that have been raised are then examined using an ecological and aesthetic approach to puppetry. The existence, life, shape and influence of ecological changes to wayang Thengul which includes the intensity of performances, functions and meanings in the community are examined using the aesthetic concept of populist puppetry. The results of the study that ecological changes occurring in the Ngawi region affect the wayang thengul art. The influence makes it a form of rural-style art belonging to the people of Ngawi, especially in Karangjati District.Keywords: Ecology, Arts, Puppet Thengul.

This research is based on the assumption that lakon Jaka Bluwo by Bambang Suwarno inwayang gedhog performance represents the Javanese knowledge sourced from mythology thatis universally received to interpret their world, both microcosm as well as macrocosm. For thereason, it needs to gain the messages contained in the wayanglakon. The material objectchosen in the research is lakon Jaka Bluwo that is one of Panji stories which is often presented inwayang gedhog and wayang topeng performance. The research aims to convey the messagescontained in lakon Jaka Bluwo using the paradigm of Levi - Strauss structuralism. The result ofresearch shows that the structuralism analysis produces a new meaning out of the meaning inlakon Jaka Bluwo. The meaning is a deep structure which is different from the performance aswell as dramatic structures which are empirically understood. Lakon Jaka Bluwo is guessed to bea Javanese way to describe the various knowledges about the balanced principles of human livesthat is one who is able to do the inner and outer dutiesequally.Keywords: Lakon Jaka Bluwo, Bambang Suwarnoâ€™s work, structuralism, Levi-Strauss.

Review of learning strategy in Praktik Pedalangan(puppetry practice) subject matter is based on many problems. The material given is hard enough so that the students final score is not good. The strategy taken overcome the problems is by applying active learning model. Try out shows that SAP (the lecture items) and GBPP (the guidelines for teaching programs)are compsed based on the previous SAP and GBPP. Teaching material is provided in a book while teaching media is provided in CD. Lecture strategy is executed with coqnitive sharpening system, verbal instruction, demonstration, interpretation,evaluation,and creativities. There is an increase in the final score of the students after the application of active learning strategy to Praktik Pedalangan III.Keyword : model, active learning, Praktik pedalangan(pupperty practice).
