Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred massively in Indonesia had an impact on distance / online learning that must be done to reduce physical interaction between lecturers and students. Distance learning that has been done is still one-way communication. Development of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) as a learning platform that can support distance learning. The purpose of this research is to develop MOOCs as support for distance learning, to determine the quality of the MOOC, and the level of MOOC satisfaction. The research method used is the ADDIE development model with phase analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. The results of the research at each stage are: analysis stage needs analysis and problem analysis on the need for distance learning solutions with active two-way communication. The design stage made a MOOC design with RPS, materials, videos, enrichment questions, and quizzes at every meeting. The development stage develops each menu stage in the MOOC from the expected competencies to the quiz. The implementation stage, validation of experts, and validation of small groups of students. The evaluation stage evaluates MOOCs both in language, layout, content, and user satisfaction. The conclusion of the study is that MOOC was developed with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The MOOC quality from the validation results obtained an average of 80,8 in the good category. The results of the user satisfaction level of MOOC Basic Natural Sciences were 78% with a good category

Abstract

Education is one of the supporting factors to improve the quality of human resources and is shown by the higher standard of education and along with progress in the 21st century. In this century, we know the term generation millennial, in general, it is found among students who are approaching adulthood and already have many communication devices inform of the smartphone. The use of a smartphone as educational media that is not maximally used.-based electronic teaching materials for android students is not available until now although there are currently very few to use. The purpose of this study is to produce an e-book based on android the structure and function of animal tissue that is valid and practical. This type of research is research and development. The method used in this research development is to use a plomp model. The object of the study consisted of one biology teacher and 35 students of Class XI MIPA at SMAN 3 Padang. Based on the results of this study produced e-book based on android on the material structure and function of animal tissue that showed an average value of 86.56% (very valid) based on validator ratings, practicality assessments by biology teachers showed an average value of 96.25% (very practical) and practicality assessment of field tests by 35 students obtained an average value of 86.66% (very practical). So, it can be concluded that the e-book based on android on the material structure and functions of animal tissue developed is very valid and very practical to use.

Abstract

Practicum was a subject that was applicable to theory. In inorganic chemistry practicum, students were trained to apply concepts through independent experiments. This experiment was motivated by several obstacles, including: difficulty in materials and practicum tools, practicum waste management, and facilities availability. This obstacle was challenged by opportunities in the form of using tools and materials, the used of digital technology, and the space for student creativity. Therefore, the design of an inorganic practicum was an independent practicum that starts with preparing a project, did the experiments to communicating the output. The research method was objective-oriented evaluative. The research sample was the fifth semester students of the chemistry education study program, FKIP, Nusa Nipa University. Data collecting was by interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Data was analysed in descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the average ability of students in preparing projects, implementing, and communicating practicum results was 87.50%; 83.77% and 89.58%. The average ability was classified as good, which was indicated by the creativity in creating practicum, using materials in everyday life and utilizing digital technology in creating practical outputs

Abstract

Learning in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic is carried out using media that can help, especially in the assessment section, learning can be done using a variety of assistive media such as the quizizz application. This study aims to determine the Differerential Item Functioning (DIF) contained in the physics questions used for tests at SMP Al-Irsyad City of Tegal and SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Tegal City in class VIII of the material pressure on substances. This study uses an approach  quantitative with primary data taken through quizizz. The population of this research is the answer sheets of the eighth grade students of SMP in the city of Tegal. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample of students taken was 200 respondents from SMP Muhamadiyah 1 in Tegal City and SMP Al-Irsyad in Tegal City. The analysis technique uses the Rasch modeling with the Wald test. The results of the study concluded that the items detected by DIF in the eighth grade science test set were substance pressure, namely items number 1 and 17 and benefited male students, while items 11, 12 and 15 benefited female students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the actual field conditions regarding the use of existing thematic teaching materials, the need for the development of thematic teaching materials, to get the form of thematic teaching material development and to determine the effectiveness of developing HOTS-based thematic teaching materials on students' creative thinking abilities. The method of this research is Research and Development (R&D) with research subjects of class IV students at MIN 4 and MIN 7 districts of Magelang. The stages of R&D use the ADDIE development procedure. Data collection using interview and questionnaire techniques. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Field conditions have not yet been found on HOTS-based online thematic teaching materials, 2) HOTS-based online thematic teaching materials are needed by teachers in their learning, 3) Teaching materials that have been developed are suitable for testing in learning, 4) Results test the effectiveness of the use of thematic teaching materials with the Wilcocon test obtained a difference of 23.64 meaning an increase in pastest scores against pretest. Standard deviation 4.63 an increase in all students, obtained a value of Z = -5,185 and p-value = 0,000 t 4,788 then with these results it can be concluded that the development of HOTS-based online thematic teaching materials effectively increases the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

Light material and optical equipment are materials that have conceptual and procedural characteristics so that they require practical activities, but this practicum is still rarely carried out due to the limitations of laboratory equipment and materials, the availability of school facilities and infrastructure that are not adequate In the learning process the teacher uses learning media, namely power points and learning videos that are delivered using the lecture method. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by the Virtual Laboratory on the understanding of the concept of light material and optical instruments for class VIII SMPN 24 Bekasi. To identify these problems, researchers using a quasi-experimental method (quasi-experimental), with a nonequivalent control group design. This study obtained the result that the guided inquiry learning model with the help of virtual laboratory media had an effect on increasing the ability to understand the concept of light and optical instruments. This is indicated by a significant increase in students' ability to understand science concepts, oral communication, collaboration, and problem-solving after following the guided inquiry learning process with the help of virtual laboratory media with an average of 8.49 in the experimental class while in the control class 7.91.

Abstract

Earth Science System in the Community is a learning model relevant to the 2013 curriculum and can improve students' critical thinking ability. The research aims to determine the effect of EarthComm learning models assisted by Avenza Maps application on students critical thinking ability. This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research was held at High School 2 Mojokerto in the even semester 2019/2020. Data analysis using Independent Sample T-Test with IBM SPSS Statistics 22 for Windows. The results showed there was quite a significant difference between the critical thinking ability of the experimental class and the control class, evidenced by the value gain a score of the experiment class (28.11) more significant than the control class (19.89). EarthComm learning model assisted by Avenza Maps application affecting the students critical thinking ability because the syntax of EarthComm invites students to observe directly in the field. Through direct observation, students can feel and understand what is happening in the field to improve students' critical thinking ability. Suggestions are given to (1) the teacher of Geography subjects, hopefully, able to implement EarthComm learning model assisted by Avanza Maps application about the Earth system material that demands critical thinking capabilities in it; (2) further researchers, it is advisable to replace or add other bonded variables

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools that has not been optimal in involving students actively will have a negative impact on science process skills and learning outcomes. Students will be actively involved in learning if the applied learning model involves students to experience the learning process as a whole. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles.. Retrieval of data using the observation sheet and learning outcome test questions. The results obtained indicate that the learning process with Quantum Learning can improve the science process skills of students. Increasing science process skills on average obtains very good criteria. The improved science process skills include; 1) Formulating Problems, 2) Formulating hypotheses, 3) Observing, 4) Collecting data, 5) concluding, 6) Communicating. Furthermore, the learning outcomes obtained by students using the Quantum Learning model can increase learning outcomes from cycle I by 73.68%, increasing to 89.47% in Cycle II. So the Quantum Learning learning model can improve the process skills and learning outcomes of students in grade V Elementary School.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect off Problem Based Learning in science learning on cognitive outcomes of 7th grade at junior high school on the topic of water pollution. This research is an experimental research. The research sample was selected by random sampling technique. The research data was collected through pre-test and post-test using cognitive learning outcome instruments. Analysis data using t-test. The results showed the Problem Based Leearning significantly improved on cognitive outcome this can be seen from the increase in the post-test in the experimental group compared to the control group (74.43>68.23). Based on the resultd of these studies indicate that the use of Problem Based Learning affectes the learning of science on the cognitive outcomes of 7th grade at junior high school on the topic of water pollution.

Abstract

One of the scientific approach activities is asking questions but not every student is actively asking questions which can trigger curiosity about learning. This study aims to measure the making questions ability of fifth-grade elementary school students in the city of Bandar Lampung on the subject matter of respiratory organs and functions in animals and humans. This descriptive survey research used a multistage cluster sampling area combined with the stratification. The design of this research is cross-sectional. The type of data in this study is quantitative data obtained by measuring the ability of students in making questions and the results will be interpreted in the form of a percentage which is then categorized based on the category of students' ability in making questions. The making questions ability of students in this study can be measured according to the indicators of assessing the quality of the questions. The results of the calculation of the data that have been obtained show that the ability of grade V elementary school students in making questions is in high category with a final percentage of 70.97%. The results of quality of student questions based on 4 indicators obtained the percentage from the highest to the lowest, which is 24.6% on the focus indicator, 17.1% on the grammar indicator, 15.6% on the relevance indicator, and 13.6% on the cognitive level indicator. The cognitive level is influenced by age and level of education, grammar is influenced by the limited vocabulary factor that is owned. It can be concluded that the difficult to arrange questions with good and correct vocabulary relevance with influenced of students' inability to think more critically and deeply so it is difficult for them to make questions that are relevant to everyday life or other fields of science and the focus is influenced by interesting learning media and interactive learning methods
