Abstract

The problem in this study is whether the cooperative learning model type Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) can improve student learning outcomes in Biology subjects in 11th Grade Science Public High School 14 Tebo Jambi? This study aims to improve student learning outcomes from the domains of student knowledge, attitudes and skills through the Application of Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) Cooperative Learning Model in 11th Grade Science Public High School 14 Tebo Jambi.  The research was conducted at Public High School 14 Tebo Jambi, involving 30 students consisting of 15 boys and 15 girls who were registered in the 2019/2020 school year. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with a Kart Lewin research design consisting of two cycles. Each cycle held two meetings in the classroom and each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the learning outcomes in the realm of knowledge obtained a class average score in the first cycle of 63.08 and in the second cycle the class average score was 78.93 with a classical percentage of 78.57%. In the realm of attitude, the class average score for the first cycle was 66.31. Cycle II, with a class average of 74.86. And in the realm of skills, the class average score in the first cycle is 51.73. While in cycle II the class average value was 77.88. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in the domains of knowledge, attitudes and skills after the application of the Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model in Biology subjects in 11th Grade Science at Public High School 14 Tebo Jambi.

Abstract

Science Learning in MI Ma'arif Kumpulrejo 02 Salatiga has not used a variety of active and creative learning media. This causes students to be passive and the lack of student attention to the material delivered by the teacher. Evidenced by the low learning outcomes of students who have not yet reached the KKM determined by the school 65. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in science learning outcomes through Pop-Up book media in class IV MI Ma'arif Kumpulrejo 02 Salatiga. This research is a classroom action research conducted in three cycles, namely Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were class IV students, totaling 28 students. Data collection methods are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of Pop-Up book media can improve science learning outcomes in fourth grade students of MI Ma'arif Kumpulrejo 02 Salatiga. Improvement of students who have finished learning from Cycle I to Cycle II 25% and Cycle II to Cycle III 21.42%. Completeness of student learning outcomes in Cycle I 39.29% of students completing study with an average value of 56.07. In Cycle II 64.29% of students completed study with an average value of 68.92, and Cycle III 85.71% of students completed study with an average value of 80.17.

Abstract

In the education quality survey issued by the PISA (Program for International Student Assessment), Indonesia is ranked 72nd out of 77 countries. The Teacher Competency Test (UKG) results in Indonesia are still low and still far from being targeted by the government, especially in Aceh province Aceh at the national level is still heartbreaking by being the second lowest in Indonesia. Seeing the problems faced by education in Indonesia, to improve the quality of education, the quality of teachers must be improved first, one of which is by increasing the pedagogical competence of teachers. This study aims to know the pedagogical knowledge of physics teachers in SMA Negeri Lhokseumawe which includes aspects of learning planning, aspects of learning methods and aspects of learning evaluation. The research was conducted in the form of a survey with the population of this study was to take the entire physics subject teachers at SMA Negeri Lhokseumawe, totaling 7 (seven) schools with 28 physics teachers. The samples in this study were 3 schools that were taken by simple random sampling, namely 8 physics teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe, 3 physics teachers at SMA Negeri 5 Lhokseumawe, and SMA Negeri 7 Lhokseumawe with 2 physics teachers. The results showed that the physics teacher's knowledge on the learning planning aspect was in the category of having good knowledge, meanwhile the physics teacher's knowledge on the learning method aspect already had a fairly good knowledge, while the physics teacher's knowledge on the learning evaluation aspect also had fairly good knowledge. So it can be concluded that physics teachers in the pedagogical aspect are in a fairly good category, meaning that most physics teachers already have a pretty good knowledge of pedagogical aspects

Abstract

Science communication skills are the process of conveying information or data from observations or experimental results to be known and understood by others. Student worksheets are printed teaching materials in the form of guides for carrying out an investigation or problem-solving activities concerning the basic competencies that must be achieved and are intended to streamline learning and help students master understanding, skills, and attitudes. Student worksheets developed in this study think talk write (TTW) based student worksheets. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of TTW-based student worksheets in improving science communication skills. The research method used was an experimental design with a randomized control group pre-test post-test. Data collection was done by giving 18 items of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis was performed using the N-Gain test and one-tailed t-test. Based on the results of this study, it was found that an increase in the results of the N-Gain test was 58.68%, while the results of the one-tailed t-test showed that the TTW-based student worksheets could help students improve their science communication skills.

Abstract

Although many have raised the Inquiry learning model and the Number Head Together (NHT) learning model, there is no research on comparison of the two models in natural science subjects. This study aims to determine whether the learning outcomes of the 5th grade science students taught using the Inquiry Learning Model is better than using the Cooperative Learning Model Number Head Together (NHT) type in SDNegeri 66 Bengkulu City. This study used two groups, namely class 5A with 31 people as the experimental group and class 5B with 31 people as the control group. This research variable consists of independent variables namely Inquiry learning model and Number Head Together (NHT) learning model while the dependent variable is the science learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach. Data collection techniques using observation and multiple choice test questions. Data analysis techniques using the t test. Based on the results of the study found in the posttest results of class 5A students who use Inquiry Learning Model in the medium and high categories as many as 31 students (93%) get grades of 60 to 100 while the learning outcomes of class 5B that use Cooperative Learning Models Type Number Head Together ( NHT) as many as 31 students (81%) get a value of 50 to 90. It can also be proven by the results of the t test calculation that is tcount of 4.352 and the value of the table for df = 60 with a significance level of 5% is 2,000. From the analysis it was found that tcount is greater than ttable (4.352> 2,000). The results showed that the learning outcomes of Natural Sciences 5th grade students who were taught using the Inquiry Learning Model were better than using the Cooperative Learning Model Number Head Together (NHT) type at SDN 66 Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

Local wisdom has noble values that apply to community life, such as protecting and managing the environment in a sustainable manner. Human efforts in adapting, managing, and living in harmony with their environment are known as ethnoecology. The study aimed to analyze the conservation values of the Kasboyo lake ecosystem in Kampar district, Riau. This study used a case study design with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out in the Simpang Petai Village, Rumbio Jaya District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The research subjects consisted of six people consisting of traditional leaders, village officials, and local communities with snowball sampling. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles-Huberman model, including data reduction, display, and concluding. The results showed that the local community had an agreement with the prohibition of fishing, waste disposal, and environmental destruction. The local communities around the Kasboyo Lake area have applied conservation principles. Local community knowledge contains conservation values, including environmental care, creativity, and humanism. So it is hoped that this local wisdom can be used as a source of science learning to foster students' conservation character

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' mastery of concepts in Newton's Force and Law material by applying the Discovery Learning model to 10th grade students of Public Vocational School 1 Bireuen. The research used was quasi-experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Group Design. Data was collected in 10th grade TKRO (Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering) as an experimental class with 38 students and 10th grade TBSM (Motorcycle Business Engineering) as a control class with 38 students. Data obtained from the results of this study using SPSS for Windows Version 18. Based on the results of data analysis to see the results of mastery of students' concepts obtained an average value of 85.16 and the control class average value of 79.95. Data obtained from the test results are used to test the research hypothesis using the Independent Sample T-test and N-Gain test. From the results of the analysis obtained from the results of the Independent Sample T-test results of the initial and final test values obtained tcount> ttable is 3.901> 1.992 with sig (2-tailed) of 0.00 lower than 0.05. The N-Gain value in the experimental class was 42.24%. Whereas the control class was 38.96%. The results of the analysis of student responses using the Discovery Learning model obtained the percentage of strongly disagreeing at 8.2%, disagreeing at 12.3%, agreeing at 48.1%, and strongly agreeing at 31.2%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that with the Discovery Learning model the mastery of students' concept mastery especially on Newton's Force and Law material is more improved than using conventional learning models

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematical critical thinking and Self Regulated Cimahi 10 Public Middle School students, so that a learning approach is needed to overcome these problems. The alternative approach applied is the Brain Based Learning Model approach.The objectives of this researcher are: 1) to examine students' mathematical critical thinking skills; 2) reviewing the Self Regulated attitude of students who obtain Brain Based Learning learning with students who have expository learning; 3) examine there is a positive correlation between Critical Thinking with Self Regulated students who obtain Brain Based Learning and expository learning. The population in this study was grade VII students of SMP Negeri 10 Cimahi. The samples in this study were class VII-B (Brain Based Learning) and class VII-D (expository). The instruments used in this study were the Critical Thinking test and the student's Self Regulated questionnaire. The test used is a subjective type test (description). The way to analyze data is with IBM SPSS Statistics 18.0 for Windows. The results showed that: 1) the mathematical critical thinking ability of students who obtained learning based on the Brain Based Learning approach was better than students who gained expository learning; 2) Self Regulated  attitude, students who get Brain Based Learning are better than students who get expository approach learning; 3) there is no correlation between critical thinking with Self Regulated students who obtain Brain Based Learning and expository learning.

Abstract

Practicum and laboratory activities cannot be taken from biology learning. Activities require Laboratory Activity Designs and Student Worksheets as instructions for their implementation. Based on the results of a field study) that student worksheet measured in the field has several problems. Therefore, to overcome this, an in-depth analysis and reconstruction of student worksheet is needed. This study aims to describe the results of the analysis, trials and reconstruction of student worksheet osmosis to meet the requirements of the 2013 curriculum. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a sample of 8 student worksheet from the 2004 curriculum, school based curriculum and 2013 curriculum. The selected student worksheet uses purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was in the form of practical analysis, knowledge construction, and the relevance of the curriculum and content. Based on the results of the relevance analysis, most of the student worksheet are relevant to the curriculum. From the aspect of knowledge construction, student worksheet cannot yet describe the development of student skills. The results of the reconstruction that have been made have been assessed by experts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a sample of 8 student worksheet from the 2004 curriculum, school based curriculum and 2013 curriculum. Abstract

Students’ scientific literacy is very important to determine the extent to which students are literate about the scientific concepts that have been learned. Therefore, prospective physics teacher students must master scientific literacy to solve various problems from the real world as individuals and must interact in society and the environment as social beings. The purpose of this study was to analyze the scientific literacy skills of students of the 2019 class of physics education study program on chapter heat and temperature. This type of research used to achieve these objectives is descriptive qualitative with qualitative analysis. The subjects in this study were Lecturers in the basic physics course I and students of the 2019 class of physics education study program at Universitas Cenderawasih. Data collection techniques used in this study were tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research from the test instrument showed that the scientific literacy skills of physics education students class 2019 were still low. The results of the interviews strengthen the findings that there are still many physics education students of 2019 who do not have scientific literacy skills of concepts on chapter heat and temperature.
