Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of student perceptions of the teacher's personality on students' mathematics learning motivation. The research method is descriptive correlational with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Merangin. The sampling technique was random sampling. Data collection used the questionnaire method for variables X and Y variables. Data were analyzed using spearman rank correlation with a significant level of 5% and followed by simple regression. The results of the calculation of Spearman rank correlation are obtained as big as, whereas for simple regression a linear equation is obtained. The correlation coefficient of 0.455 states that each addition of one score or the personality value of the teacher will give an increase of 0.455. For the significance test obtained F count <F table or 0.4736 <1.77 which means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe mathematical communication skills using the cooperative learning model of the power of two and four types better than conventional learning. The study used a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study population was all eighth grade students of SMPN 51 Merangin which numbered two classes with samples class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. The instruments used are test questions mathematical communication skills in the form of descriptions. The results of data analysis requirements indicate that the data of the two sample classes are not normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing uses two-independent formula samples with U-test (Mann Whitney). Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that Sig. greater than α or 0.038 <0.05 in the one-party test. Because Sig. <α then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, so that it can be concluded that mathematical communication skills using the synectic learning model are better than conventional learning of class VIII students of SMP 51 Merangin.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical connections using cooperative models oftypes connecting, organizing, reflecting and extending (CORE) better than conventional learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study design was a post test only control design with a population of class IX students totaling 5 classes. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The selected sample is class IXC and class IXE. Data collection techniques use tests in the form of essay questions. Analysis techniques for testing hypotheses with t-test, because the data are normally distributed and homogeneous variance. From the data analysis it can be concluded that the mathematical connection ability using cooperative models oftypes connecting, organizing, reflecting and extending (CORE) is better than using conventional learning models of class IX students at Merangin 2 Public High School.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the mathematics learning outcomes of students using a realistic approach is higher than using conventional learning. The research method used is the experimental research method. The population in this study were Grade VII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Merangin, while the sample used in this study was VIIB class as the experimental class and VIID class as the control class. Data collection uses a questionnaire method with a Likert scale to motivate students, while the problem-solving ability with essay questions. The data analysis method for motivation with the t-test, for test analysis is by the t-test, before carrying out the t-test on the similarity of the two averages, the normality test and the homogeneity test first. Then the hypothesis test aims to find out whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected. Hypothesis testing is done using the z-test. The results of the research data analysis show for learning motivation of class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Merangin in following mathematics learning after using a realistic mathematical approach better than motivation to learn mathematics before using this realistic mathematical approach with an average initial motivation of 2.38 and final motivation of 3.08. Whereas the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Merangin using a realistic mathematical approach were higher than conventional mathematics learning outcomes with an experimental class average of 80.46 and a control class of 57.79.

Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in human life, so it requires an understanding of the mathematical concepts that are good for mathematical material. But in reality, students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still quite low. Based on the learning outcomes obtained by students there are still many who are below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). Therefore, to overcome the existing problems, the probing-prompting learning model is used which will be able to improve the understanding of the mathematical concepts of class VIII students of SMP N 46 Merangin. The research method used was PTK. Subjects in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 46 Merangin 2014/2015 academic year were 19 students. Data is collected using technical written tests and observations of students during the learning process. Based on the results of the study, it was found that understanding the mathematical concepts of students experienced a fairly good improvement compared to before. This can be seen from the learning outcomes obtained by students each cycle. The average learning outcomes obtained by students are: cycle I of 62.37 with the number of students completed 4 people. Increased in cycle II to 78.95 with a total of 13 students completed. in the third cycle student learning outcomes increased to 14 people with an average value of 84.47.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce learning devices and LKS based on a realistic, valid and effective approach to realistic mathematics education. This learning tool is expected to be able to improve student learning activities and outcomes. This type of research is development research using a 4-D model consisting of 4 stages, namely 1) defining, 2) designing (design), 3) developing, and 4) disseminating (disseminate). The contextual mathematics learning tools developed are Student Worksheets (LKS) and Learning Implementation Plans (RPP). Validation is done by experts in mathematics education, basic education and language. The practicality of learning devices is investigated by observing the implementation of learning, filling the practical questionnaire by students, and conducting interviews with students and teachers. To see its effectiveness is done by observing the activities and student learning outcomes. The collected data was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning tools of the realistic mathematics education approach (PMR) produced were valid in terms of their constructs and contents for Class VII of Merangin 14 Middle School. Contextual mathematics learning tools can be said to be practical in terms of the implementation of learning and effective on the activities and learning outcomes of students for class VII. Learning tools for realistic mathematics education approaches (PMR), have been tested and implemented. Based on the results of the trial and implementation it can be said that the learning tools approach to realistic mathematics education (PMR) are valid, practical and effective

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes using the Group Investigation (GI) learning model of statistical material. The research method used is classroom action research. The research subjects were class XI students of TKJ SMK Negeri 11 Merangin with a total of 23 students, 15 of whom were male and 8 of them were female. The object of the research is the Investigation Group (GI) learning model. The design of this study consisted of planning, implementation, evaluation and observation, and reflection using three cycles. The results of this study obtained an average of mathematics learning outcomes in the first cycle of 62.17, in the second cycle of 69.78 and in the second cycle 70.22. For classical learning completeness in the first cycle, that is 43.48%, the second cycle is 65.22% and in the third cycle is 78.26%. For teacher activities on silkus I, which is 69.22%, on silkus II is 100% and in cycle III is 100%. And for student activities on silkus I is 51.44%, in silkus II is 65.20% and in cycle III is 82.96%. It can be concluded that by implementing the Group Investigation learning model in the learning process it is proven that it can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of students of SMK Negeri 11 Merangin in the 2015/2016 Academic Year both in completing learning and learning activities.

Abstract

This research of background overhador by understanding of mathematical concept use model study of probing-prompting based  problem posing better than the understanding of mathematical concept use conventional study of class student of VIII MTs Al-Munawwaroh Bangko year 2016/2017. This research type is research of experiment with population 90 people. Technique withrawal of sampel use sampling random simple. Chosen sampel is class of VIII A/Pa as experiment class and class of VIII B/Pa as class of  kontrol. Technique collecting tes of is understanding of mathematical concept which in form of problem of essay at cube items and log. Technique analyse data used to test hypothesis is test-t of data analysis of tes final experiment class obtained by ean 39,24 varians 49,85, while control class obtained by mean 32,88, varians 43,17. Result of hypothesis test obtained, thitung = 2,79 and ttabel = 1,68 because thitung > ttabelof hense Ho refused and Ha accepted. Conclusoin of this research that is understanding of mathematical concept use study of probing better than the understanding of concept use convensional study of class student of VIII MTs Al-Munawwaroh Bangko year 2016/2017.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of mathematics using the Talking Stick learning model better than conventional learning. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method with a population of class VII students of Merangin 10 Middle School. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. The selected sample is class VII F as the experimental class and VII G as the control class. The technique of collecting data through tests of mathematics learning outcomes in the form of essay questions with the number of six items in the quadrilateral material. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis was the t-test assisted by the IBM SPSS Statistics 21 program. From the analysis of the final test data in the experimental class it was obtained an average of 60.43, while the control class averaged 50.79. The hypothesis test results are known to be sig <  or 0.008 <0.05 , Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that the learning outcomes of mathematics using the Talking Stick learning model are better than the conventional learning of class VII students of SMP N 10 Merangin.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the procedure of development of interactive multimedia learning and to produce flash-based program of parametric statistics material in Inferential Statistics Course, and to know student's response. The research method used is development research, with material selection procedure, user determination, determining program indicator, arranging scenario, making design appearance, making prototype, testing, and evaluation. The program is validated by material experts and media experts then tested. Assessment of material experts concluded that the program is very feasible to use with a percentage of 95%, and the assessment by the program media experts declared very feasible with the percentage of 84%. The student's response to the program is excellent with a percentage of 86.98%. The conclusion of this research is the interactive multimedia of parametric statistical material using flash program in the course of Inferential Statistics is very good and feasible to be used as learning media.
