Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe mathematical communication skills using the cooperative learning model of the power of two and four types better than conventional learning. The study used a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study population was all eighth grade students of SMPN 51 Merangin which numbered two classes with samples class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. The instruments used are test questions mathematical communication skills in the form of descriptions. The results of data analysis requirements indicate that the data of the two sample classes are not normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing uses two-independent formula samples with U-test (Mann Whitney). Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that Sig. greater than α or 0.038 <0.05 in the one-party test. Because Sig. <α then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, so that it can be concluded that mathematical communication skills using the synectic learning model are better than conventional learning of class VIII students of SMP 51 Merangin.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical communication skills using the cooperative learning model type make a match better than conventional learning class X SMA N 5 Merangin. This study uses a quantitative approach, an experimental method with a population of students in class XA, XB, XC and XD. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling technique. The sample chosen was XB class as the experimental class and XC class as the control class. The technique of collecting data through tests of mathematical communication skills with essay questions on three dimensional space material. Requirement test results of data are normally distributed and homogeneous variance, then the data analysis technique used is the t-test (independent sample t-test). From the analysis of the final test data on the experimental class obtained an average of 46,172, while the control class obtained an average of 35,893. Hypothesis test results obtained tcount = 8.533 and = 1.673, because tcount > then Ha is accepted namely mathematical communication skills using the cooperative learning model type make a match better than conventional learning class X SMA N 5 Merangin The recommendation of this study is the Make A Match type cooperative learning model that is better applied in the learning process in three dimensional space material, because this learning model can make students more active and able to develop themselves.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem solving abilities using the Questions Student Have strategy better than conventional learning of class VIII students of SMP 7 Merangin 2015/2016 Academic Year. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method with a population of eighth grade students of SMP N 7 Merangin in the 2015/2016 Academic Year totaling 74 people. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling. The selected sample is class VIII A as the experimental class and VIII C as the control class. Data collection techniques through tests of mathematical problem solving abilities in the form of essay questions with the number of five items in the cube and beam material given in class VIII B. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is the t-test. From the analysis of final test data in the experimental class obtained an average score of 51.17, variance of 7.281, while the control class obtained an average score of 46.52, variance of 10.108. Hypothesis test results obtained, tcount = 1.84 and ttable = 1.68. Or 1.84> 1.68 this means tcount > ttable so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that mathematical problem solving abilities using the Questions Student Have strategy are better than using conventional learning by class VIII SMP N 7 Merangin 2015/2016 Academic Year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning outcomes of SPSS Computer Application courses using blended learning models better than conventional learning. The study used a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study population was all biology education study program students which numbered two classes with sample B as the experimental class and class A as the control class. The instruments used are the learning outcomes test questions in the form of descriptions. The results of data analysis requirements indicate that the data of the two sample classes are not normally distributed and have a homogeneous variance. Hypothesis testing uses two-independent formula samples with U-test (Mann Whitney). Based on the results of the analysis of research data shows that Sig. smaller than α or 0.007 <0.05 in the one-party test. Because Sig. <α then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of SPSS Computer Application courses using the blended learning model are better than conventional learning of biology education study program students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to describe the mathematical problem solving ability using a model of learning cycle is better than conventional learning. The approach is quantitative research with experimental method. The population of this research is class VIII SMPN 12 Merangin. The sampling technique using simple random sampling after the population meets the requirements. The technique of collecting data through the test, with the instrument in the form of essay to measure mathematical problem solving ability in the material loop. Data analysis techniques to test the hypothesis using Independent Samples t-test with SPSS 20. From data analysis of final test on experimental class gained an average of 32.89, while the control group gained an average of 24.44. The results of hypothesis testing known value oft = 7.122 and ttable = 1.675 with α = 0.05 and df = 51. Because tcount> ttable then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. The conclusion of this analysis, mathematical problem solving ability using the model learning cycle is better than conventional learning. Based on that suggested using the model of learning cycle in mathematics particularly in the matter of the circle.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical connections using cooperative models oftypes connecting, organizing, reflecting and extending (CORE) better than conventional learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The study design was a post test only control design with a population of class IX students totaling 5 classes. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The selected sample is class IXC and class IXE. Data collection techniques use tests in the form of essay questions. Analysis techniques for testing hypotheses with t-test, because the data are normally distributed and homogeneous variance. From the data analysis it can be concluded that the mathematical connection ability using cooperative models oftypes connecting, organizing, reflecting and extending (CORE) is better than using conventional learning models of class IX students at Merangin 2 Public High School. Keywords: cooperative learning modelstypes connecting, organizing, reflecting, and extending (core) and mathematical connection abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship and the influence of attitudes toward learning outcomes in mathematics. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method that connects two variables, namely the variable learning attitudes as independent variables and mathematics learning outcomes as the dependent variable. The population in this study were class VII students of SMP Negeri 23 Merangin, totaling 102 people. Sampling uses simple random sampling technique by drawing. Determination of sample size using the Taro Yamane formula with a sample size of 51 respondents. Learning attitude data collection uses a Likert scale questionnaire with 4 answer choices, and documentation techniques for learning outcomes data. Before being analyzed the transformation of learning attitude data, data normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnof, linearity using theF formulacalculated, and hypothesis testing using Pearson Product Moment correlation, significance (Z-test), determination coefficient (KP), simple linear regression equation, and regression significance test. Based on the test requirements analysis, stated data on learning attitudes and learning outcomes are normally distributed and linear. The results of data analysis using the Pearson Product Moment (PPM) formula. From the formula, it is known that the correlation coefficient is 0.375 and the rvalue istable 0.281, so that it can be expressed rcount ˃ rtable or 0.375> 0.281. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Furthermore, for the significance of the Z-test it produces a value of 2.67 at the significance level of 5% and dk = 49 obtained by Ztable of 1.96. Because Zcount ˃ Ztable or 2.67> 1.96 means that there is a significant effect with a large contribution (coefficient of determination) 14.06% and a simple linear regression equation ŷ = 58,698 + 0.265X. So that it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between learning attitudes towards the learning outcomes of mathematics in class VII students of SMP Negeri 23 Merangin. Keywords: Influence, Learning Attitude, Learning Outcomes.
