Abstract

Cerebro vascular diseases (CVD) also known as stroke is the event losing of brain function that is caused by the termination of blood supply to the brain. The deprivation of oxygen supply will result in depleting nutrition to the brain. The primary symptom will be the muscle weakness. The muscle weakness on hand can be treated with a grasp exercise for the post-stroke patient. This researched aims to understand the difference of muscle strength scale before and after grasp exercising for the post ischemic stroke patient. The research design applies quasi-experiment with pretest and posttest on two groups design. In this research, there are 67 respondents will be used as samples by applying purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is observation paper of the muscles strength scale. The bivariate analysis uses paired t-test with significance level α(0.05). The  result of this research indicates a significant difference in the muscle strength scale before and after the exercise on ischemic stroke patient with the score p<0,0001. In conclusion, this research finds that the grasp exercise can effectively increase the muscle strength of the stroke patient and recommends the grasp exercise as a part of nurse independent intervention in providing nursing treatment. Keywords: Stroke, muscle strength, grasp exercise.

Depression also negatively impacts stroke outcome with increased morbidity, mortality, and poorer functional recovery. This study aims to examine the characteristics of patients who can be associated with depression experienced in patients before and after 1 month undergoing a stroke rehabilitation program in the first 3 months after a stroke onset. This study used descriptive correlative with cross sectional approach, total sampling were 22 respondents using purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria for stroke patients who had the first or second stroke, had hemiplegia in the upper and / or lower extremities less than 3 months, had a Muscle Manual Testing (MMT) score <4. Exclusion criteria for patients with Trans-ischemic attack and patients with a history of depression. The assessment tools contained demographic questionnaire, Aphasic depression rating scale (ADRS) and MMT. The results showed that age, educational background, and caregiver contributed to the score of depression (p < The health service center hoped will form a group of stroke survivors as a form of social support so that patients have more opportunities to communicate and support each other, and thus improve their physical abilities, and emotional well-being. Keywords: Post-stroke depression, ishemic stroke, ADRS

Abstract

Reproduction health is a biological process where a new individual is born. Wheres, anesthesia is a whole or partial loss of taste sesation caused by pathology in the neuron system of individual; anesthesia can also be defined as a technique in a medicine delivery (inhalation intravenous, or local) causing numbs partially or bodily for a certain period of time. This research aims at finding out wathers there is a correlation (correlations) between anesthesia and reproduction health disorders of health workers in operating room. This study belonges to analytic studi with cross sectional approach. This studi was done at roman catholic charitas hospital. The research samples were 52 health workers in a operating room at the hospital. The primary an secondary data were taken from questionnaires. Chi-Square (ɑ=0,05) and logistic regression werw used for data analysis technique. This research was done on June 22-30, 2015. At the end of the research, the univariate analysis results showed than there 63,5% of the respondens (Age>35), 88,5% (Highly Educated), 63,5% (Work Period ≥1 years), and 59,6% (Anasthesia Exposure) who did not suffer from the health reproduction disorders. Meanwhile, the bivariate analysis results indicated p values of the variables, i.e. Age (p value=0.021). work period (p value=1.000), education (p value=1.000, Work period (p value=0-020),  and anesthesia Exposure (p value = 0.003). the multivariate analysis results showed that age (p value=0.45) became the best predictor that can make the health workers suffer from reproduction disorders. It can be concluded that there were correlation between Age, work period and Anathesia Exposure with reproduction health Disorders. However, there was no correlation between Education and Health History with Reproduction Heath Disorders. As suggestions, the hospital should conduct any innovative program in order to avoid any secondary effect of the usage of anesthesia to the health works. Abstract

Target of hypertension management is normal blood pressure or at least in stable condition. Stabilize blood pressure can be obtained if patient done regular checkup to monitor and evaluate his/her health condition. Regular checkup behavior influenced by patient attitude to making decision of his/her blood pressure control and family support to that decision. This study aimed to identify intervening variable between attitude and family support to regular checkup behavior of hypertensive patient in Talang Betutu Public Health Center. This study used analytic survey to 44 hypertensive patients with purposive sampling by questionnaire. Path analysis with logistic regression approach used to conduct conceptual model of influence between variables. Logistic regression result showed there was significant influence between attitude to regular checkup behavior (b: 2.616; p: 0.001) but not between family support to regular checkup behavior (b: 0.238; p: 0.756). Path analysis given model that attitude being intervening variable between family supports and regular checkup behavior so family support had indirect correlation and influence to regular checkup behavior. Thus, nurse education strategies pointed to increasing awareness of hypertensive patient about his/her health condition and effort to maintain blood pressure in control or stable as precaution and decreasing risk of complication.   Keywords:hypertension, attitude, family support, regular checkup behavior, logistic regression, path analysis

Abstract

The incidence of breast cancer in Indonesia has increased from year to year as many as 12,014 cases (28.7%). If this cannot be controlled, it is estimated that by 2030 there will be 26 million people suffering from breast cancer and 17 million people who will die. The number of breast cancer case that is still quite high is caused by the low awareness of women to do examination immediately if there is something different in their breasts. One of the early detection efforts is by doing Breast Self- Examination (BSE). This research was aimed at finding out the relationship between the level of knowledge of Breast Self- Examination (BSE) and BSE behavior as breast cancer early detection effort of Nursing undergraduate students of Health Faculty of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta. The research was quantitative in nature with descriptive correlation design and cross sectional approach. The sample taken used purposive sampling with 68 respondents. The instrument of the research used questionnaire about BSE knowledge and BSE behavior and the result would be analyzed with Pearson statistical test. The results showed that the majority age of respondents 20.78 years old, obtained information facilities from other people and mass media, had knowledge average of 16.95 and the behavior average of 24.56.The research result showed that there was significant relationship between BSE knowledge and BSE behavior proven by the p value of 0.028 (p < 0.05). The Pearson correlation value was 0.266 showing positive correlation with weak correlation. There was a relationship between BSE knowledge and BSE behavior. The higher the level of knowledge of BSE, the better BSE behavior. The nurses could increase the attention to the health education to increase the BSE behavior.   Keywords: Knowledge, Behaviour, Breasts Cancer, Breast Self- Examination (BSE)

Abstract

Hypertermi is a condition when an individual experiences or risks experiencing a continuous increase in body temperature of more than 37.8 ° C (100 ° F) orally or 38.9 ° C (101 ° F) per rectal due to external factors. Hypertermi is the onset of symptoms in a disease, which begins with an increase in body temperature in the patient, and the usual initial action is to do a warm compress because warm compresses can lower the body temperature of patients with hyperthermia. Knowledge is the result of knowing that happens after someone observes a particular object, while attitude is a feeling of support or partiality or a feeling of not supporting or not favoring the object. Nurses who provide nursing care should have knowledge, and a good attitude in lowering body temperature. The impact of a lack of knowledge, and the attitude of nurses will result in an optimal decrease in heat in patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nurses' knowledge and attitudes towards the action of warm compresses in hypetermic patients in the Aster Childhood Disease Room at TK.II Hospital Dr.AK. Gani Palembang. The design of this study is quantitative descriptively, while the number of samples is 19 people. Samples taken using nonprobability sampling technique with accidental sampling method, the data used is primary data using a questionnaire, the respondents studied were nurses in the Aster Room, the time of the study during August 2017. The results obtained that the level of good knowledge is 73 , 7% (14 people), and nurses who have positive attitudes as many as 16 people (84.2%). The advice that can be given is to further improve the knowledge and attitudes of nurses about the action of warm compresses. Keyword : Knowledge, Attitude, Hypertermi, Warm Compress

Abstract

Diabetes melitus (DM) is a chronic disease that requires self-care. The main problem of health care in Indonesia is the lack of optimalization on the culture of patient self-care. One program that aims to facilitate knowledge and skills for diabetes patients is self-care Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME), that based on independent nursing theory by Orem "Self-Care". This study aimed to determine the effect of knowledge post diabetes self management education (DSME) implementation to self-care on patient diabetes melitus. The study utilized quantitative post test quasi experiment design with simple random sampling technique. Total sample of intervention group which is consisted of 56 respondents who received the implementation of DSME and control group which is consisted of 44 respondents who received no implementation of DSME. The statistical analysis using Independent T test resulted significant difference in self-care patient diabetes mellitus (p=0.000<0.05) between those two groups. It is expected that health care workers facilitate the self-care of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through the use of DSME implementation which has been shown in improving the knowledge and self-care to prevent further complications.
