Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the psychological dynamics in children's boarding schools, which focus on the problems of the psychological well-being of young students who are felt to be in the boarding school environment as well as the challenges of boarding schools in fulfilling the psychological well-being of students in the perspective of gender-friendly boarding schools. This research is qualitative research with the type of Field Research and uses a phenomenological paradigm. The research subjects were students of school age, namely 6-12 years. Through interviews, observation, and documentation, data was collected for both the santri and the caretakers of the boarding schools (kiai or nyai). Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, through four steps, namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results showed that there were still some conditions for students who experienced psychological turmoil during the adjustment period, such as homesickness, self-acceptance, difficulties in establishing social relations with other friends problems of independence, especially for low-class students and at the beginning of the boarding year. A gender-biased perspective was found in fulfilling children's rights in Islamic boarding schools, such as the assumption that looking after women is more difficult than men, women have to take extra care of themselves and their morals while men are labeled as difficult to manage, and tend to be naughty. Besides that, the fulfillment of nutrition and balanced nutrition is not found in Islamic boarding schools with the reason for developing the principle of zuhud (simplicity). This is what makes it a particular challenge for Islamic boarding schools to help the growth and personal development of students so that they feel comfortable and happy in the boarding school with all the activities and activities that bind students, both male and female students. This challenge is very important to be captured by pesantren managers such as forming child-friendly pesantren.

Abstract

Women’s contributions and roles in coastal communities are frequently overlooked. Through a gender-based empowerment strategy, gender-based coastal zoning can result in an integrated and long-lasting implementation of coastal area management and increase coastal community resilience. This paper aims to emphasize the need of considering the demands and behaviors of women and to determine the effect of gender mainstreaming in coastal zoning on coastal area resilience. The method used in this paper is descriptive research as to conduct the potential for conducting analysis related to the role of women in coastal areas, the tools used by researchers is zoning method based on the results of the literature study, the trend of gender involvement in coastal and marine areas is still dominated by men (64%) and women (36%). The findings in this study shows Both women and men have different roles and it is undeniable that they are still interrelated in exploring fishery and marine resources. The economic resilience of coastal communities (fishers) is highly dependent on the presence of fish. The existence of fish is highly dependent on the presence of coral reefs, mangrove forests, and non-mangrove forests or coastal forests as green belts. There is a causal relationship between fish and their environment, the role of women in coastal areas is mostly found in inland coastal areas with the types of activities of production, product processing, marketing, and resources collection, the efforts to close the gap are to use the use of marine spatial planning by defining the use of space and traditional user rights through the participation of women to make them more empowered.

Abstract

This paper analyzes strategic policies for preventing child marriage in Rembang Regency. This evaluative research uses interviews, questionnaires and literature studies for data collection. The study results show that the gender-integrated policy of child marriage prevention in the Rembang district can be seen in regulations, budgets, strengthening of child groups, institutions and cooperation. Sufficient budget and human resources, including the openness of information systems, are the strengths of the policy on child marriage prevention in this area. Programs are still partial; weakness in monitoring- evaluation; weakness in gender mainstreaming commitment; gender biased organizational culture; budget politics that often change; and the fewer activity children's forum are weaknesses in this policy. There are national and international policies; orderly population administration; gender and child disaggregated data; Information Technology; collaboration with NGOs and the private sector an opportunity that must be considered for the success of this policy. Another hand, attention must be on policy threats, namely: low education; high poverty; patriarchy; child marriage traditions; ngemblok tradition; information technology; changes in the age limit for marriage; minimal community involvement; gender insight uneven and; understanding of child rights is low. Child marriage prevention policies have an impact on target groups, non-target groups, and direct and indirect costs. Optimization of child marriage prevention policies should be carried out using scheme 1, maximizing strengths to minimize threats; scheme 2, optimizing gender equality in regional apparatus organizations and; scheme 3, monitoring-evaluation is carried out periodically and structured. These schemes must pay attention to the five "appropriate" namely the appropriate choice of policies and programs, implementation, targets, environment and process appropriate.
