Abstract

Residential high-rises are unique properties that differ from landed properties such as bungalows or terrace houses. They are unique insofar as, after the properties have been occupied, facilities must be jointly managed by residents. The continuous growth of high-rise residential buildings specifies that there is a need for effective ownership and property management system to instill a valuable living experience among high-rise residents in this country. Looking at this scenario, this research takes an initiative to develop a mobile application that supports streamline information with assistive features to improve communication and information sharing for high-rise residential management in Malaysia. This aim is achieved by answering three research objectives, including identifying user requirements, designing the application prototype and developing the artefact and evaluating the artefact. The study was conducted together with LT Sdn Bhd, the property management company responsible in managing and maintaining property related matters of Seroja Apartment. An adopted conceptual framework for property management based on the sustainable indicator dimensions for property management and applicable features from existing mobile application to develop the artefact has been proposed. The conceptual framework was proposed based on literature review and nature of work observed on site. Lastly, the study successfully validated the proposed adopted framework against the artefact, the MyLT mobile application.

Abstract

A microfinance institute (LKM/ Lembaga Keuangan Mikro) is a company that focuses in providing funds to small, early-stage, and emerging firms or small medium enterprises. A company that is engaged in financial sector and works under the surveillance of OJK/ FSA (Financial Service Authority) always has some questions whether this company really needs to implement IT Governance best practices or to what extent it does. The research in PT Sarana Jabar Ventura as one of the microfinance institutes using COBIT 5 framework for the domain of EDM (Evaluate-Direct-Monitor) & APO (Align-Plan-Organize) has shown that the existing practice is not adequate enough to align the business to IT and to manage its risk optimally so the IT solution will be beneficial for the business. Therefore, it is necessary to design the IT governance practice here, based on the seven enablers of COBIT 5 which are categorized into 3 aspects: process, people, and technology. The results of this research are design recommendations as follows: IT policy, procedures, organization structure, job description and the supporting tools and technology. It is expected that the company will implement the results in the near future. Keywords—COBIT 5, IT governance, microfinance institution

Abstract

Intense competition in Indonesia forces private companies in the defense industry to be more competitive. PT. Z is one of the largest private defense products and equipment manufacturer in Indonesia. To retain competitiveness, PT. Z must provide defense products and equipment with the best quality and deliver it on-time. The quality and on-time delivery of products and equipment fulfillment rely on the performance of employee at PT. Z. Over the last few years, employee performance at PT. Z constantly decreased. The decrease of employee performance can be caused by several factors including work environment, occupational health and safety, and job satisfaction. This research will examine the effect of work environment (WE), occupational health and safety (OHS) and job satisfaction (JS) on employee performance (EP). The analysis was carried out using the PLS-SEM with 120 samples taken from production and engineering division at PT. Z. The result shows that there are positive and significant effect of WE on EP, WE on JS, OHS on JS, and JS on EP. JS also mediates the effect of OHS on EP. On the other hand, OHS does not have a direct effect on EP and JS cannot mediate the effect of WE on EP.

Abstract

Service-learning pedagogy provides practical learning experience for students by integrating community service with academic learning. However, experience is not enough, reflection on that experience is essential to produce new understanding. The concept of collaborative reflection has been recognized recently however, there is lack of research on how to structure guided collaborative reflection to view the process of knowledge building and how technologies can support it. To shed light on this issue, this study proposed a computational workflow of structured collaborative reflection which is adopted from integrated collaborative reflection model and implement a prototype (i.e. named as ‘Co-Reflective’) to proof the concept how Computer Supported Collaborative Reflection System (CSCRS) is supporting collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. For this purpose, design science research methodology was employed in this study. The evaluation of Co-Reflective is provided where we asked our participants to evaluate their experience and give feedback about system. Based on the positive feedback of participants we conclude that Co-Reflective can effectively support for guided collaborative reflection activities to promote collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. Implementation of Co-Reflective not only addresses the limitations of current technologies but also contribute in the body of knowledge by presenting the concept of integrated collaborative reflection model that promotes collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. Keywords—collaborative knowledge building, collaborative reflection, Computer Supported Collaborative Reflection System (CSCRS), service learning.

Abstract

There are so many graduated people from university, and it affects the number of unemployment who are educated and have specific knowledge in some field. In the other side, in our new education curriculum, students have to learn much by their self. The teacher only needs to monitor them. They do not teach at all. Students usually search the review their courses from the internet which are not valid at all because it is usually opinion from the author. Therefore, the educated person is essential to support education in informal learning. In this paper, authors made an innovation of website which can be used to confront educated unemployment with students to share and learn a specific knowledge. By using a website (such as a common website for marketplace), both of unemployment and student can get the benefit, such as knowledge and skill for students, and also profit/income for unemployment. This informal learning process would be held either online or offline, which unemployment as a teacher and students meet to do learning process. This website would provide benefits for all entities which involved in business processes, such as salary from the student for the teacher and profit from sharing with the teacher, promotion on the website, and sponsor of the website for the service provider. Keywords—Education, students, unemployment, website.

Abstract

XYZ is a pasteurization milk processing company that produce milk drink from pure cow milk. PT. XYZ don’t sell their product directly to end user, instead they distribute their product to many companies which serve milk for their employees or operators in lunch time. So, their customer is mostly a manufacture company from various kinds of industry. They have about 40 customers and most of them are outside Bandung. However, the delivery may not be done as planned. The average on time delivery is around 96%. it is below PT. XYZ target which is 98%. The impact of the delay itself is vary between customers. Because when delay occur, each customer has their own regulation that has been settled in agreement contract. Based on the delay recapitulation above, there are several factors that caused this problem. Delay in departure is the most influential factors. It is because PT. XYZ don’t have fixed schedule of delivery and they miscalculate the departure time because of improper route determination that also leads to longer travel time. This case is categorized as Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogeneous Fleet and Time Window (VRPHFTW) that will be solved using one of meta-heuristics algorithm which is Two Phase Tabu Search Algorithm to minimize travel distance. In the end, the travel distance can be minimized 19.48%. Keywords—Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogenous Fleet and Time Window (VRPHFTW), Meta-Heuristics, Two Phase Tabu Search Algorithm.

Abstract

PT INTI engaged in telecommunication, has long become a supplier of network construction with a large scale that is national. Therefore, PT INTI has a lot of material and spread all over the city in Indonesia. Previously, PT Inti still uses semi-manual way to do their material recording. The material recording is done by using Microsoft Excel which will be sent by electronic mail (email) if needed. But it is vulnerable to errors because the data contained in is not integrated. To overcome this, PT INTI wants to have a web based application called INTI Maintenance to manage financial materials such as material input, material search, material removal, material search, material data printing, to finance such as request addition, change of request status, delivery, and residual balances of each city. INTI Maintenance web-based information system financial module is built with open source software that uses PHP as the programming language, MySQL as the database, and Windows as server computer. The final results achieved in the material management information system in this module have advantages in assisting PT INTI employees in managing financial data and validation for material delivery using receipt of delivery material.
