Cakrawala menerima artikel ilmiah hasil-hasil penelitian, yang tentu saja harus didasarkan pada hasil penelitian yang mengetengahkan urgensi, manfaat dan tujuan penelitian. Selain itu artikel juga dapat memuat telaah kritis terhadap suatu hasil atau proses penelitian sosial yang sedang aktual. Artikel yang akan dimuat dapat pula mengemukakan hasil perenungan kritis dan menyeluruh menyangkut suatu teori, metode penelitian, ataupun hasil penelitian sosial.

Abstract

The life of an unmarried pregnant teen is a depressed one due to the racism and discrimination received by her. Depression during pregnancy influences the increasing of morbidity toward the mother and the baby. This is because the pregnant teen tends to harm herself and the fetus during the depression. Teenage pregnancies contribute 50% to maternal and child mortality.  The purpose of this research is to scrutinize the life experience of an unmarried teen girl in Baru Village, Ibu District, West Halmahera. Method being used is: qualitative research and phenomenology approach. Two pregnant teen girls are the participants, chosen using purposive sampling. Data is gathered by in-depth interview, analyzed using van Manen method (Hermeneutic Analysis). Validity test is using four criteria: credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability.  Result of the research shows that the life experience of an unmarried pregnant teen girl is a stressful and traumatic experience. Early stage of pregnancy is passed by responding the pregnancy in silent and thinking positively, along with great fear. Due to the demands of the ‘situation’, she pushes herself to adapt to the changes inside her and the social system around her. Related to the respond of her surroundings to her pregnancy, she tends to change the subject, avoid the subject or lying. Pressure felt by her comes from herself (guilty, shame, sorry, and anger) and her surroundings (excommunicated, slandered). Decisions made by her due to the circumstances: abortion (fail), commits suicide, gives the baby to adopt, or gets married. However, all the difficulties bring harm to the girl that influences her life: her status as a mother, more mature point of view, and trauma to pregnancy.  Keywords: Life Experience, Teen Girl, Unmarried Pregnancy.

Abstract

The issues of Christianization in Salatiga become the other side from a city that presumed was peacefully plural place. Begin from Salatiga impression as a Christian city because of the alleged huge housing Christian worship, The Christian domination in Salatiga cause of the largest Christian university faith-based local that lifted up named Satya Wacana Christian University, Until a long cases related to land disputes in Salib Putih at year end 2007 involving two groups of full of ambition on behalf of Islam and Christian that making the issue continues to roll in speculation without clarification. This research aims to analyze how Salatiga’s moslem perception in defining the issues and factors that affect the perception. In order to refine the analysis in the fields of communication, this research also uses the concept of Coordinated Management of Meaning to understand the construction of the perception being created every informant. The results showed that the tendency of perception lies in the context of the majority and minority. The difference lies in the perception is factors among people (informant) , factors on the object of perception, and the factors on the situation. The factors that influencing informant itself is attitudes, interests, and experiences. Factors that influence the perception of an object is the movement, size, and proximity. Abstract

The easiness of internet access facilities and the more sophisticated the facilities offered by the internet in the era of Information and Communication Technology today was accompanied by the emergence of phenomena that shows high interests in youth to use the Internet. of this phenomenon, the researchers wanted to see how the patterns of Internet usage by teenagers in Semarang District.  This research uses quantitative methods to conduct surveys using questionnaires distributed to respondents in various regions of the Semarang District. The number of samples representing the respondent populations studied were 464 respondents.  From this research it is known that more teenagers choose the Internet to search for information, in addition to the media most frequently used to access the internet is mobile. information most often sought by teenagers on the internet are looking for information about hobbies and entertainment. Keywords : teenagers, internet, information

Abstract

The new media give consequence to the study of communication sciences. Empirical facts showed that communication research often get stuck on the wrong footing basis in analyzing social conditions, but there is no doubt that the theory of communication should be in harmony with the development of technologies that facilitate society and interaction process. This study seeks to provide a description of how the development of the theory of communication and dialogue with communication problems emerging. David Holmes's view on the development of communication studies will overshadow this article. Abstract

Study on the behavior of Internet usage lately started a lot done. A study of Internet usage behavior seen in the perspective of the media system dependency theory in Indonesia is still hard to find. For this reason, so this research is done. Taking the subject of research is the empirical data because according to teens, the majority of Internet users are teenagers, so look at the behavior of adolescents within the perspective of the media system dependency theory seems interesting to do.The results showed that at the micro level, respondents chose the television media as the primary medium in bermedia activity, followed by the second after the Internet as a medium of television. But in terms of information retrieval, respondents chose the Internet as the main media in obtaining information, followed by television as a media both in the context of obtaining information. At the macro level, it is known that most respondents lived with the family of batih. In the perspective of the media system dependency an attribute theory, social environment gives influence to the respondents to select the medium used and determine which media are used to meet his needs. Other social systems are assumed to have influence is the participation of respondents in organisations in the school and outside the school. Note that the participation of respondents in organisations in the school and outside the school is a member of these organizations.Keywords: Media, Youth, Social System

Abstract

This research aims to find the role of power-actor in the illegal parking underworld around RSUP Dr. Sardjito area. By utilizing Gramscian and Foucauldian discourse analysis, this qualitative research with purposive sampling technique was able to reveal some findings: the power-actor in the illegal parking syndicate around RSUP Dr. Sardjito has been using their influence to establish illegal parking community, as well as its unwritten rules and regulations. The power-actor has the control over the distribution of the parking plots and they decide on who can allowed to work as illegal parking attendants, as well as to assign supervisors –whose role is to initiate and enforce the rules necessary to bind the community together and to protect its existence.Keywords: Illegal Parking, Gramscian, Foucauldian, Power-actor.

Abstract

Recently, there are a lot of study about communication done by scholars. Nearly all the aspects such as: Communicator, message, media, channel, communican are examined. Indeed it is very important and cannot be separated. However, we rarely pay attention to the communicators, so the study of communicators in science communication is very rarely done. This research tries to find out about how a Communicator make message, what is in the mind of the Communicator and how this might appear. This type of research is qualitative and using the paradigm of constructionism, and using methods of ethnography of communication, where researchers work directly, live together, feel what is perceived by the Communicator. Because this research is the research/study about Communicator, then the primary data will be one person that is leader of Padepokan Tjipto Boedaja as communicators.The result of this research is there are several stage in order to make message. First is exploration, in this stage a Communicator have realized what she made and how she will make it, Incubation at this stage ideas that had emerged last stored and absolute thinking, and wait for the right time for something. Second is Eliminated in this stage idea/message was born, Third, Execution, when the moment of inspiration or idea/message has appeared so someone will soon to make something. Here's what is known as the stage of Implementation (Fourth). By releasing any results during incubation. Either all the idea is good or less good, muntahkan everything without rest in a form of something planned and Fifth, Evaluation where the communicators will evaluate the ideas/messages he ever made.Keywords: Communicators, Creative Process, Message, Communication

Abstract

Intercultural communication activity would certainly not be separated from the cultural barriers that exist therein. This is due to the difference of values embraced by both cultures that mutually contact each other. This research aims to analyze how communication barriers between cultures is happening between Anna character that comes from the United Kingdom and King Mongkut's as well as the people that came from Thailand using the film Anna and The King as its object. Scenes in the film will be analyzed in qualitative descriptive. The results of the analysis showed that the communication barriers between cultures that happened to include the resistance barriers of perception, verbal and non verbal barriers. Keywords: Film, communication barriers between cultures

Abstract

Television is one of the mass media which represents the reality of people's lives. Television can illustrate various dimensions of life in society including the representation of a mother. On the impressions that a mother is portrayed as a rough figure, ruthless and dares to kill his son. The mother is also represented as a figure who is able to understand the needs and wishes of children. Television was able to bring the reality of life in various aspects and has a role for imaging to reality around us. Imaging reality of the figure of the mother in the ILC TVONE footage is in the form of sound and image. With the analysis of semiotik Peirce was chosen because investigators wanted to reveal how the depiction of the figure of the mother in the impressions. From the results of the analysis can be put forward that in the impressions it is represented as the mother figure, a rugged, ruthless and dares to kill her child, the mother figure in the impressions it contrary to representations of the mother in a society that is very fond of his son figure, full of warmth and hospitality, are able to understand the needs and wishes of children.Key words: representations, mother, television, semiotics

Abstract

The majority (76%) boundary between the Republic of Indonesia and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL) is a river. There are rivers upstream and or hilirnya are in the two countries. Water resources will thus be utilized by the two countries. In such situations it is necessary the presence of the State to guarantee the fulfillment of the water in the border region SO. Therefore this research was conducted to determine the presence of the State in the management of water resources in the border region in the 5 aspects: aspects of the conservation of water resources, efficient use of water resources, water damage, power control of information system of water resources (SISDA) and community empowerment. Exploratory qualitative research, carried out in the region of the River (WS) Noelmina in DAS Naekake in the village of Tasinifu, village of Naekake A, in district of North Central Timor Regency Mutis, river basin (WS) Benenain on DAS Alas in the village South-East of Kobalima Sub-district Pedestal District of Malacca, DAS Sarabau Village in Kecamatan Talao Tasifeto Timur Regency of Belu and the village of Asumanu district of Belu, Raihat and DAS Maumutin Raihat Belu District. The results of this research indicate the presence of the State is still very minimal/weak in management of the SDAS in the border region SO-RDTL.Keywords: State presence, water resources, water-damaged power facilities, water resource information system, community empowerment, the border region SO-RDTL.
