Gentala Journal Basic Education is a periodical scientific journal published in Indonesian language published by the Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Primary School Teacher Education Study Program twice a year in June and December. Abstract

The study was intended to describe the load of patriotic character on the fourth grade school elementary school student book the beautiful theme of diversity in my country. The design on this research is qualitative research. The type of research used is a descriptive qualitative. Research methods used are those of content analysis. The data retrieved on this study is the content of a character love of the motherland in the sentences found in the student book on IPS materials. The source of data on this study is the 2013 curriculum of the 2013 beautiful them of diversity in my country, the 2017 revision on the fourth grade school elementary school. The study was carried out from April to June. The data analisyis techniques involve data reduction, data display divided into two stages, the classifying of data, the descryption and interpretation of data, and the conclusions drawing/verification. An analysis of the fill character content found in the fourth grade school elementary school students book the beautiful theme of my country was found as many as 77 load of patriotic character covering 15 sentences in the first indicator, 22 sentences in the second indicator, 22 sentences in the third indicator, 9 sentences in the forth indicator, 5 sentences in the fifth indicator, 4 sentences in the sixth indicator. The sentences found in each material can grow and form a patriotic love character in the student. By teaching and delivering material that is sufficient.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the value of character education in obligatory songs. The kind of research used on this research is a descriptive qualitative. The data drawn from this study are the lyrics to national obligatory songs. This research was conducted on April s/d in June. The data-reduction technique results in a way that results in data reduction, data presentation that is divided into two stages of data rating and decryption and interpretation of data and verification. Analyse of the character education values found in the national anthem have been found as many as 84 values which include 2 religious values, 3 value of tolerance, 8 value of discipline, 8 of democratic worth, 1 of democratic worth, 13 of patriotic passion, 34 of patriotism, 1 value of achievement, 4 of peace-loving values, 6 of environmental concern, 2 of social concern, and 1 of responsibility. The character education values found in compulsory national songs contribute to growing and shaping character education values in lower learners.

Abstract

This research is purposed to improve critical thinking ability of students through Problem Based Learning (PBL) model application in Pengalusan 1 General Primary School. The media used to help this research is an audio visual media which is also a learning video. The type of this research is a class action research which includes 4 stages of activity in 1 cycle. The participants of this research are students of grade IV Pengalusan 1 General Primary School in 2nd semester of 2019/2020 school year, 28 students in total. The technic of data collection used consists of test and non test technic which involves observation and document. The result of this research shows that application of Problem Based Learning model is able to improve students’ critical thinking ability. The average of students’s ability in critical thinking is raised from 62.143 with percentage of completeness 50% becomes 71.4 with percentage of completeness 78.6%. The ability of critical thinking in students with problem based learning model can raise up through the syntax from problem based learning model which are in phase 1 student orientation of problem and phase 3 independent and club investigation. It is concluded that problem based learning model with the help of audio visual media can improve the ability of critical thinking in students of grade IV Pengalusan 1 General Primary School. Abstract

This study aims to improve the attitude of student responsibility in the Basic Concepts of Sociology, Anthropology, and History lectures by applying the Learning Cycle Model at PGSD FKIP UNIB. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR stages are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the application of the Learning Cycle model in the Basic Concepts of Sociology, Anthropology, and History lectures could increase students' attitudes of responsibility. The suggestion given is that other researchers are advised to examine attitudes other than responsibility, so that the development of student attitudes can be monitored periodically.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of effectiveness of textbooks based on a scientific approach in the Geometric and Measurement courses in the PGSD FKIP Sriwijaya University Study Program. The approach used is development research with descriptive quantitative methods. The data collection technique is a test. The test is used to collect data from research subjects, namely students in semester 3 (three) to determine the level of effectiveness of this textbook, namely giving tests before and after being given material in the textbook that has been developed. The results showed that based on the acquisition of pretest and posttest values, it was known that there was an increase of 48% with an N-Gain of 0.68. So it can be concluded that this textbook has effectiveness in order to help students better understand the material being studied in the moderate category.

Abstract

The headmaster as a leader has considerable responsibility for the development and progress of the school. This research describes the improvement of school quality, the principal's strategy for improving education quality. The development and progress of the school can be seen from the performance of the school headmaster and the headmaster is able to utilize the resources effectively and efficiently. As well as seeing and the task of the headmaster faced with the challenge to implement a planned and continuously organized education in developing the quality of education. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive design and case study type. The research results include: (1) The school principal's strategy in improving the quality of education is the fulfillment of school infrastructure, professionalism of teachers, (2) implementation of the Program to improve the quality of education in schools, (3) evaluation to improve the quality of education in schools, (4) Constraints faced by schools that are problems funding the school Program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the professionalism of elementary school teachers in implementing learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted at SDN Kebonjati, Sukabumi City which developed from July to September. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subjects used in this study were one teacher for class IV A at SDN Kebonjati and students for class IV A who opened 26 people. The data collection techniques used in this research were closed questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Pedagogic competence as a professional teacher consists of three indicators, namely the ability to plan the learning process, the ability to manage the learning process and the ability to evaluate (assess) learning. The results showed that the teacher's ability to plan learning and the ability of teachers to evaluate learning had been done professionally, but the teacher's ability to manage learning could not be done professionally. This is due to the constraints and limitations of teachers in carrying out the courageous learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the analysis of the attitude of responsibility in the implementation of the independent learning program during the COVID-19 pandemic in elementary school students. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection in the form of observations, interviews, and anecdotal notes. The result of this research is that 52.5% of 40 students have achieved all indicators of responsibility. Responsibility is self-awareness in carrying out duties and obligations without coercion. Online learning is an implementation of independent learning that has been carried out since the covid-19 pandemic. During online learning students carry out their responsibilities in the form of doing assignments given by the teacher, students even have the responsibility to help parents 47.5% of students who do not carry out their full responsibilities during online learning due to several factors, namely: boredom, poor internet network. not good, and the work piled up. Responsible students have good time management by setting priorities. Students who have a responsible attitude are accustomed to learning independently during online learning. The role of the family and the surrounding environment is needed by students in the implementation of online learning. This role can be in the form of mentoring while studying to guide students if they have difficulty doing their assignments. Schools and teachers should reduce assignments that burden students.

Abstract

The difficulty of learning multiplication counting operations is a difficulty that is still experienced by many students. It is interesting to do further research. This study aims to identify the difficulties in learning multiplication experienced by grade 3 students at SD Negeri Pandeanlamper 04 Semarang and identify the causal factors. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this study were teachers and third grade students of SD Negeri Pandeanlamper 04 Semarang. The results of the analysis show that (1) difficulties in learning multiplication counting operations include difficulties in calculation skills, difficulties in using the wrong process, difficulties in determining place values, difficulties in unreadable writing, and difficulties in understanding symbols, 2) factors that cause difficulties in learning multiplication include attitudes in learning, student interest in learning, student motivation in learning, student habits when studying, parental attention to student learning activities, teacher-student relationships, student and teacher discipline, media and tools available learning support, as well as school and classroom conditions. This shows that the difficulties in learning multiplication experienced by students are caused by internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

Multimedia learning can be used to help facilitate the process and understanding in learning, and increase interest in learning, this is because it is presented with attractive pictures and animations, accompaniment music and voice presenters, short duration of time, using a scientific approach in accordance with the revised 2013 curriculum. This study aims to: 1) Develop a scientific-based learning multimedia design for elementary students 2). Knowing the feasibility of scientific-based learning multimedia for elementary students, 3). The response of teachers and students to learning media as a result of development. This type of research is research and development (R & D). The development design model refers to the 4D model with 4 stages, namely: Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The research instruments used were observation sheets and questionnaires. The data obtained are in the form of qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is in the form of comments and suggestions from experts/validators of media and materials. Quantitative data were obtained from questionnaire scores with a Likert range scale. The feasibility of the product is assessed based on the feasible and very feasible product category with a percentage between 80-100%. Media that are already feasible are tested on small group and large group test subjects. The results of the assessment from media experts got 92% with very valid criteria, and from material experts it was 86.7% with very valid criteria. The results of the feasibility/practical assessment through student response questionnaires at the trial stage show very practical criteria
