Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure and social functions of the expression prohibition of the human body and drugs in the village of Talago Gunung Village Barangin District Sawahlunto. The theory used in this research is folklore theory. This research type is qualitative research with descriptive method. Data obtained from oral sources and words informants community of Talago Gunung Village Barangin Sub District Sawahlunto equipped with the recording phase, then transcribed into the form of writing. The transcribed results are translated, as well as the collection of data on the story environment conducted by recording, observation and interview techniques. Data is validated by triangulation technique,furthermore, the data were analyzed by data inventory, classification / data analysis, discussion, conclusion, and reporting. The result of this research is social structure and function of people's trust expression prohibition society of Talago Gunung Village Barangin Sub District Sawahlunto, can be concluded that there are 52 expression prohibition, that is 45 phrases which is structure of two parts and 7 phrase which is structure of three parts. Furthermore, there are 6 expressions which serve as a function of the reinforcement of religious emotion or belief, 2 as a function of the imaginary projection system, 36 educational functions, and 52 expressions of prohibiting and enjoining and entertaining functions are not found in the data.Keywords: structure, functions, expression, prohibition

Abstract

This article portrays the culture of entertainment, consumerism, pragmatism, secularism or profane lifestyle, hedonism, taste uniformity and instant culture in Ika Natassa's Critical Eleven metropop novel. The research is qualitative research and using descriptive method.  Based on the results of data analysis found the portrait of urban communities in the novel metropop Critical Eleven as follows. First, entertainment culture, such as music, traveling to places of interest, shopping, sports, partying and more browsing the internet and chatting with friends through social media. Secondly, the culture of consumerism, such as buying expensive goods for toys and collectibles, the use of well-known brands as their fashion, "hunting" food in famous restaurants and shopping, and for the particular needs of urban societies more attentive to the quality and costliness of goods. Third, pragmatism, society becomes antifondationalist, antirepresentationalist, and antirealist. Fourth, secular or profane lifestyle, religion is not so important in today's life. Fifth, hedonis, like living full of entertainment, royal or consumptive, and make fashion as a self-image. Sixth, the uniformity of the sense, that makes the community no longer have a distinctive culture. Seventh, instant culture, teaches that life needs a process to achieve success.Keywords: urban community, metropop novel, literature

Abstract

This study aims to (a) describe the verb form of foot activity in Minangkabau language, (b) describe the process of derivative verbs of foot activity in Minangkabau language, (c) describe the type of verb of foot activity in Minangkabau language. This research is qualitative research and using descriptive analysis method. Methods and techniques of data collection using method refer with noted and record techniques, then used the skill methold wilh advanced skill technique. Result of this study, First, the verb form of foot activity in Minangkabau language in Padang City consists of two forms namely the original form, and the derived form. The derived verbs are grouped again into (a) mandatory affixed base verbs, (b) basic affix verbs grouped arbitrarily, (c) bound affixed verbs, (d) recurring verbs, and (e) compound verbs. Second, the process of derivative verbs of foot activity in Minangkabau language in Padang City consists of four (1) transpositions, (2) affixation, (3) reduplication, and (4) compounding. Third, the type of verb foot activity in the Minangkabau language in Padang City is divided basid on the point of view (1) the number of nouning nouns, (2) the relation of verb with the accompanying are grouped into two, namely intransitive verbs, and transitive verbs. The types of transitive verbs are grouped into three, namely (1) monotransitive verbs, (2) bitransitive verbs, and (3) ditransitive verbs. Based on the viewpoint of the relationship of verbs with nouns, grouped into four, namely (1) active verbs, (2) passive verbs, (3) anti-verbs, and (4) anti-passive verbs.Based on the viewpoint of the number of nouns that accompany. Based on the viewpoint of the interaction between the auxiliary nouns are divided into two, namely (1)reciprocal verbs and (2) non-resolved verbs.Keywords: verb, foot activity, Minangkabau language

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the performance of the use of EBI on the status of Facebook mayor in West Sumatera. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data research in the form of writings written by some mayors in West Sumatera through Facebook account. In this research, author focuses some writings from the Mayor of Padang, the Mayor of Padang Panjang, the Mayor of Payakumbuh, and the Mayor of Solok. Data collection is using documentation method, that is: (1) printscreened writings the Mayor of Padang (period 2016—2017), the Mayor of Padang Panjang (period 2016—2017), the Mayor of Payakumbuh (period 2016—2017), and the Mayor of Solok (period 2015—2016); (2) transcribes all the Facebook posts; and (3) observe and determine the data that includes the performance of EBI. The exanubatuib of data validation in this research uses a detailed description technique. Data are analyzed with this following steps. (1) identify and transcribe the data, (2) classify, (3) calculate, (4) interpret the data, and (5) conclude the data. The conclusion of this study is the performance of Indonesian in terms of use of EBI on Facebook mayor in West Sumatra is very low (16.4%) of 499 speeches. The biggest mistake is in the use of capital letters and the smallest is in the use of quotation mark one.Keywords: EBI, language error, spelling, mayor, Facebook

Abstract

This study aims to describe the performance of the use of communication politeness in terms of the use of the principle of language politeness by the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra in Facebook. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data in this study are writings written by the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra. Data were collected in the following manner, (1) to capture the screen of the writings of the Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra (period 2016-2021) on Facebook account; (2) transcribes the entire Facebook post; and (3) to observe and determine data that includes the performance of Indonesian politeness. The examination of data validation in this study uses a detailed description technique. After the data collected, then analyzed with the following steps, (1) identifying and transcribing data, (2) classifying, (3) calculating, (4) interpreting data, and (5) summing up data. The conclusion of this study is the performance of Indonesian politeness in the writings in the Governor and Vice Governor of West Sumatra very well. This statement is evidenced by the corresponding speech language utterance of 519 sentences (98%) and non-corresponding nine sentences (2%). Conformity of the use of the principle of communication politeness that many found is the maxim of conclusions and incompatibility of the use of the principle of communication civility that many found is the maxim of praise and humility.Keywords: politeness, governor and deputy governor, facebook

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of (1) personality pleasure, (2) recreational prestige, (3) group fun, (4) juvenile delinquency, (5) hypoactivism, and (6) urban teenage cultures in a teen lite novel, The Unfunniest Comedy by Wiwien Wintarto. The data are the phrase, clause, sentence, that shown a problem of urban teenage life in a teen lite novel, The Unfunniest Comedy by Wiwien Wintarto. The results of the study are (1) the representation of personality pleasures in novel is depicted by reading tabloids and watching movies, (2) the representation of recreational prestige in a novel are teenagers shopping activities, houses in residential areas, luxury restaurants is visited for meals, their owned vehicles , cinema as a place of entertainment that must be visited, and work in the entertainment industry, (3)  the representation of group fun in a novel are teenagers who can be told an opinion in a group and set up rules in association, (4) the representation of juvenile delinquency  in a novel is against the status of skipping school and leaving training obligations, (5) the representation of hypoaktivism in a novel is teenagers’ dependency on others in daily activity, (6) the representation of cultural in this novel is teenagers’ behavior that mimics their idol. Keywords: novel, teenlit, urban teenagers

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the form of violence against women; (2) to describe the causes of violence against women; and (3) to describe the impact of violence against women in the drama of Marsinah monologue by RatnaSarumpaet. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The data in this study are sentences and direct speeches of figures that can be interpreted or interpreted as violence against women. Sources of data in this research is the script of Marsinah monologue drama Menggugat works RatnaSarumpaet. The research stages are done by following steps: (1) reading drama script and (2) inventorying data. After data is collected, then analyzed by the following steps: (1) classifying data; (2) to interpret data; and (3) make a conclusion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the indicators of violence against women in Marsinah monologue drama Scriptures sued by RatnaSarumpaet include: (1) violence against women is divided into five, namely exploitation, powerlessness, marginalization, cultural imperialism, and violence. Violence is divided into two, namely physical violence, including persecution, rape and murder, and internal violence, including humiliation and threats. (2) the cause of violence against women is divided into two, namely internal and external factors; and (3) the impact of violence against women is divided into two, namely the impact of violence against the physical, including fractures, bruises, and severe injuries, and the impact of nonphysical violence, including fear, humiliation and low self-esteem. Keywords: violence, women, Marsinah Menggugat

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the pleasures of the personality, (2) describe the prestige of recreation, (3) describe the pleasure of the group, and (4) describe juvenile delinquency in novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The data of this research is the element of the novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. The source of this research data is novel teenlit Love in B Minor by Anindita. Data analysis technique is done through four stages, namely first, inventory. Second, identifying and classifying data through speech / action of characters and narrators abstracted as urban teen profile data covering personality fun, recreational prestige, group fun and juvenile delinquency. Third, interpret the data. Fourth draw conclusions and make a report. The results include 14 personality pleasure data, 8 recreational prestige data, 10 joy group data and 2 juvenile delinquency data in novel teenlit Love In B Minor by Anindita.Keywords : urban teenagers, teenlit novel, literature

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure by regent in West Sumatera (Regent of Dharmasraya, Regent of Pesisir Selatan, Regent of 50 Kota, Regent of Agam, Regent of Pasaman Barat, Regent of Pasaman, Regent of Sijunjung, Regent of Solok Selatan, and Regent of Mentawai) in Youtube. This study is a qualitative study using descriptive method. The data in this study is a sentence obtained from the speech of regent in West Sumatra. The data collection are as follows, (1) to identify speech of regent in West Sumatera which is included in the Indonesian language performance in terms of using the regent's sentence structure in West Sumatra, (2) transcribing the speech of regent in West Sumatra which has been downloaded through Youtube, (3) observing  and giving the data code. Technique of data validation in this study is using technique of detail description while describing or explaining the detail data to be analyzed. Techniques of data analysis in this study are as follows, (1) identifying data, (2) classifying data, (3) interpreting data, and (4) concluding data. The conclusion of this study is the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure by the regent in West Sumatra in Youtube. The statement is proved by the speech of using the appropriate sentence structure as much as 299 sentences with 84% percentage and incorrect as much as 58 sentences with a percentage of 16%. In other words, the performance of the Indonesian language in terms of using sentence structure in this study is dominated by the accuracy of its use.keywords: sentence,  sentence structure, regent, Youtube

Abstract

The research was done because of the heterogeneous of Indonesian society which create the varieties of language insed in daily life. It is known as jargon. Let’s see the jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera in their daily activities, especially in doing transaction of trading. They have special vocabularies called jargon. The purpose of this research is (1) to describe the form jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang West Sumatera. (2) To describe the meaning of jargon used by plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun subdistrict Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera. This research is a qualitative research that produces a descriptive data. It means the data analyzed and the result of the analysis is in a descriptive form, not in form of numeral of the efficiency of the relationship between variables. In this research, the data was taken from the daily conversation among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun by using listen method (record based technique). Based on the research about jargon in the trading transaction among the plant sellers in Lubuk Minturun sub district Koto Tangah Padang, West Sumatera, jargon can be classified into form and meaning. (1) Form, it can be words, phrases, or clauses. The word in jargon can be verbs, nouns, or adjectives. Phrases in jargon can be verb phrases, noun phrases, or adjective phrases. (2) Meaning, it has the lexical meaning and contextual meaning.Keywords : Jargon, Sellers, Plant, Trading transaction, Lubuk Minturun.
