Abstract

The purposes of this article were to: 1) describe the form of invective in Minangkabau language, 2) describe the context of using invective expressions, and 3) describe the function of using  invective expressions in Nagari Kurai Taji South of Pariaman. The data of this study is the expressions used invective language of Minangkabau society in Nagari Kurai Taji South of Pariaman district. The data source of this research is the speech of informants in Nagari Kurai Taji South Pariaman district. The finding of the study is eksplained three things, namely 1) the form of invective, 2) the context of using invevtive expression, and 3) the functions of using invective expressions.The the form of invective consists of words and phrases. The form of invective can be categorized: nouns, verbs, adjectives. Cussthe contextof four, namely: (1)higher position speakers and familiar relationship, (2)a higher position speakers and donot close, (3)inferior speakers and familiar relationship, (4)inferior speakers and do notyet familiar. Function invective expression consists of:(1)express their resentment,(2)strong angerand extreme, (3)as ajo keor comedy purposes, (4)a means of expressing in timacy in relationships, (5)contempt, (6)expressed frustration and annoyance, and (7)as a means of disclosure as tonishment.

Abstract

This study is aimed to: (a) describe the story episodes in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia, (b) describe the episodes of the film Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus, (c) describe the comparison of episodes between the story in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia and the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus.This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Data of this research is the story episodes in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia and the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus. Technically, data was collected through three stages: the first stage is to read the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia that will be followed by watching the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus. The second stage is to inventoried, identify issues related to episodes in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia and the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus. The third stage is the data classification step into the data format. The data validation techniques is created by using technique of detailed description. Analyzing technique is done by interpret every period of episodes which is based on ecranisation theory.Results which obtained from this research is found 209 episodes in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia and found 185 story episodes in the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus. Story episodes that are equally exist in the novel of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan by Asma Nadia and in the film of Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan directed by Kuntz Agus, there're few changing in variety of events, characters and background which found 92 episodes inside the story. It happened due to the creativity from the director when adapting a novel into a movie.Keywords : novel, movie, ekranisasi, episode

Abstract

This article aims to describe: (1) The folklore structure of local legends of Baimpik Stone, (2) social function of local folklore legend of Baimpik Stone in Nagari Parambahan of Bukit Sundi District of Solok. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. Data gathered from informant through two stages, namely: (1) The recording phase of local folklore legend Baimpik Stone, (2) The stage of data collection about the storytelling environment. Data on the storytelling environment is gathered with recording, observation, and interview techniques. The data in this study was analyzed in four phases, namely: (1) data identification phase, (2) phase of data classification or analysis, (3) stage of discussion and the conclusion, (4) the level of reporting.  Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the folklore structure of local legends of Baimpik Stone in Nagari Parambahan Bukit Sundi District Solok consists of: (1) language style, (2) Point of View, (3) Figure and character, (4) background, the background of the local legend of the folklore of the Baimpik Stone is a backdrop of place, background, and social background, (5) plot/plot, Groove/plot in the folklore of local legend Baimpik Stone is a conventional groove, and has three stages namely, early stage Introductions, middle stage or midle, and final stage or breakout, (6) Themes, and (7) orders. Social function folklore local legend of Baimpik Stone in Nagari Parambahan Bukit Sundi District Solok: (1) entertain, (2) Educate, (3) bequeath, and (4) traditions.

Abstract

This researchdone to describe (1) the form of expression of emotions angry, sad, and happy in the Minangkabau language used in Nagari Tanjung Bingkung Subdistrick Kubung Regency Solok, (2) the context in which the expression of emotion angry, sad, and happy in the Minangkabau language in Nagari Tanjung Bingkung Subdistrick Kubung Regency Solok.This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Object of this study is the expression of emotion in the language of Minangkabau Society inNagari Tanjung Bingkung Subdistrick Kubung Regency Solok. Analyzed data taken with the following steps: (1) transcribe data from various sources into written language, that is, from the recorded data, interviews, and observations, (2) inventaritation shape emotional expression and context, (3) classify forms of emotional expression and context, (4) analyzing the data collected, and (5) formulating the research findings. Based on these results, it is concluded that there are three expressions of emotion in the Minangkabau language in Nagari Tanjung Bingkung Subdistrick Kubung Regency Solok, namely: (1) there are 41 angry expressions of emotion expression, (2) there are 37 sad emotion expressions, (3) the expression of emotion happy there are 30 expressions. Abstract

This study aimed to describe: (1) the structure of folklore in local legend Pincuran Tujuah in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Village Kapalo Koto Kecamatan Payakumbuah Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, (2) social function of Folklore Legend Pincuran Tujuah. The type of research was qualitative research used descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and recording of interviews with informants in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Kapalo Koto Village Payakumbuah Subdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota District. Based on the result of research, it is concluded the following things. First, Folklore Structure Legend Locally Pincuran Tujuah includes: (a) Characterization, consists of four characters, namely the main character and sideline. The main character is emak Gendong known as the person who has a patient and hard heart and while the side character is two children emak Gendong and neighbors who have a sense of jealousy to emak Gendong (b) Plot, the plot of legend Pincuran Tujuah is conventional groove, because a sequential event through regular causal relationships from the introduction of background, the main character, the entry into conflicts, and the ending of the story. (c) Background, this research is carried out in Nagari Koto Tangah Simalonggang Kapalo Koto Village Payakumbuah Subdistrict of Lima Puluh Kota Regency, and also there are also (d) Style of Language and (e) Less point of view is depicted in this legend story. Abstract

This study is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. Object of this research is the novel Cinta di Ujung Sajadah of Asma Nadia a novel family first printing, July 2012. Data collected with the following steps: (1) read and understand the novel, (2) marking the parts that indicate the existence of women in novel, (3) identify the nature of the character corresponding to the research problem, (4) to classify sentences and paragraphs that can show a picture of women in the novel. Data were analyzed with the following steps: (1) describe a novel structure, (2) interpret the existence of women as reflected in the figures of women in the novel, (3) concluded that the data has been analyzed and interpreted, and (4) report the results of research. Based on the analysis of data it can be concluded that the existence of the female characters in the novel Cinta di Ujung Sajadah of Asma Nadia works are grouped as follows. (1) The existence of women as a person is having a hard-hearted personality, has the establishment, independent, religious, and faithful, (2) the existence of women as members of the family are affectionate, patient nature, gentle, (3) the existence of women as members of the community is a concern for other people, the environment and other people's relationships, respect for others, and gregarious.

Abstract

The problem formulation in this research is how hedonism in novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa is. The purpose of this study were (1) describes the form of behavior of hedonism in the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa; (2) to describe the cause of hedonism behavior in the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa; and (3) describe the impac of hedonism behavior in novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. The data of this study are the story elements of the novel  Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. The data source for this study is the novel Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. There are four stages to collecting data. First , read the novel  Antologi Rasa by Ika Natassa. Second, do library research. Third, look for and record data related to research problems. Abstract

This article was written to: (a) present a description of the manuscript ofUraian Pepatah Adat Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito, (b) presents the text of the script interpretation of Uraian Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito, and (c) presents the text of Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito. This research is a philology research. The object of this research is Uraian Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito text. The research method used is descriptive method and the method of philological research that is adapted to the research stages. At the data collection stage used field study and literature study. The results of this research are (1) a complete description of the manuscript, (2) the transcription of literature that can be read and understood by contemporary society about the importance of the role of the penghulu in Minangkabau and the qualities that must be possessed by a penghulu, (3) text that has been adapted to Indonesian Spelling (EBI). In the text of the Description of Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu by Datuk Palito it is found a variety of old Malay and some Minangkabau language vocabulary that is maintained to keep the purity of the vocabulary.Keywords: change of script, transfer of language, text, philology

Abstract

The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis methods. This research data is a text in from of the words, phrases, clauses, sentences and discourse which represents conflicts of wong cilik, in the form of personal and between classes conflict in both novels. It is also looking for differences and similarities of the conflicts, and explaining the novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya as hypogram of novel Pengakuan Pariyem by Linus Suryadi AG. The results of the study are First, the conflict of wong cilik in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam there are nine conflicts of wong cilik, devided into six personal conflicts and three conflicts between social classes. Second, conflict of wong cilik in novel Pengakuan Pariyem there are seven conflicts of wong cilik devided into six personal conflicts and one conflict between social classes. Third, the difference of wong cilik’s conflict ini novel Pengakuan Pariyem: (a) the number of conflicts, (b) wong cilik’s conflict in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam comes from external factors, and (c) wong cilik’s conflict in novel Pengakuan Pariyem comes from internal factors; the similarities of wong cilik’s conflict in novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya and Pengakuan Pariyem is found on those novel’s conflict, novel Bila Malam Bertambah Malam by Putu Wijaya is a hypogram from novel Pengakuan Pariyem by Linus Suryadi AG. Keywords: representative, conflict, wong cilik, intertextual.

Abstract

This paper contains a discussion of people’s belief in the expressions of prohibition in Kanagarian VII Koto Talago Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten Limo Puluah Koto. This research is a qualitative by using deskriptive methods. The data of this study are the result of interviews about popular belief in expressions of prohibitions regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and childhood. After collecting and analyzing data from seven informants, there were 64 (sixty four) data about prohibition expression. The analysis of this article takes the form of social structure and function of people’s belief in the expression of prohibitions. The structure of the prohibited expression is divided into a two-part structure and a three-part structure. The social function contained in the prohibition is as education for the pregnant person. This can be seen from the door used as a place in and out the house, pregnant people should sit in the house so as not to prevent people who will go in and out the house.
