Abstract

This study aims to describe the values in the works of short stories "Homeland" by Martin Aleida. The method used is descriptive method. The type of research is literature research. The object of research is the short story of "Land of Water" by Martin Aleida the best winner of the compass of 2016. Data technique by searching data about the variables that are short stories, looking for items and short stories that contain the values of characters, character values, analyzing and interpreting data in accordance with the keywords created, grouping the value of characters, describing the value of characters contained in the short story and the conclusions of the analysis of the values in the short story. Data analysis techniques using content analysis. The pattern of withdrawal of the conclusion used the deductive pattern or inductive short story later. Through this research, the values of character education that exist in the short story "Fatherland" is the love of the homeland or spirit of nationality, responsible, honest, caring for the environment, independent, and affection.

Abstract

The Reviews semiotics poetry Indonesia by Sukmawati Soekarnoputri is one of literature work form the expression of the human person through experiences, thoughts, feelings, ideas, passions, beliefs in a concrete form of images that evoke charm with the tools of language. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, Descriptive analysis method is research method used to illustrate the problems that occur in the present or in progress. To create literature work authors usually make use of semiotics in his work. One of the poems analyzed is poetry “Ibu Indonesia” who wants to convey to readers about the pride of poets on the civilization of an island region, sea called the Indonesian nation. Any literary works in the form of poetry can be said one genre of literary works that many use the mark as aesthetic builder. The researcher focused the semiotic review of poetry in terms of significance and interpretant. “Ibu Indonesia” which is seen from the significance (meaning) contained in this poem we as a young generation do not forget the struggle and culture of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study discusses the comparison the language acquisition of two years old  different gender. The purpose of this study is to find out the utterances spoken by two children in the phonological aspect. This subject research is one boy and one girl, the age of both are two years old who is in research anvironment.the kind of this research use descriptive qualitative,because this research to show the result of research based on the fact that exist is empirically alive to the speakers the language acquisition process in childrens’ phonological aspects. the technique used to collect data by method of research pointing some picture of animal and fruit and make effort so that both of the child are mentioned the picture that have been provided by reserachers. After obtaining the data, then the data transcrioptioned into the written and the table that the researchers easly to review ing and describing change in phonemes uttered by both of child. The result of this research to show that from 20 speech of utterances by child two years old are sampled in this research, the change of sounds more likely occur in girl than boys. It can be seen from the result data of research that the boy is able to say (Cicak) clearly, while for girl when she says the word (Cicak) is only able to pronounce the end of vocabulary become (cak). The conclusion obtain is the process of language acquisition can be ionfluenced by gender.

Abstract

A poem is a kind of literature that is interested in all society. Not only for reading it, but some of them are interested to produce a poem. In the language thing, poem tends to free,  unbounded with the particular rules. The use of analogical terms makes us difficult to comprehend the hidden meaning inside it. This research is done to describe the meaning of the poem that saw with using semantic analysis that focuses on analyzing lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, reference meaning, and analogical meaning. The research method that we used is a descriptive qualitative method. The result discussion showed that poem can be analyzed using semantic. This poem tells the love story.

Abstract

Writing is one aspect of language skills used by humans to communicate or convey messages indirectly, The purpose of this study is to know: the activities of teachers and students on learning to write a description using CTL (contextual teaching and learning); significant difference between before and after learning write description using CTL method; and student responses to learning to write a description using CTL method. The research method used is experimental method. The sample of research is the fourth grade students of SDN Cengkong 1. The result of this research shows that this can be proven from the value of t arithmetic count (32.2) t table (1.67) with 95% confidence level (0,05). Thus it is true that there is a significant difference, between the students' ability to write the description of the treated method other than the CTL method with the writing ability of the students treated with the CTL method). The results of teacher activity observation can be done 85% and 80% student activity is done. Based on the results of the questionnaire calculation given to the students, showed a positive response that is equal to 76%, meaning that students feel happy and welcomed about the application of CTL approach in learning to write a description. Based on the research data there are differences between  initial and final test results with an average initial test score of 44.13 and a final test of 73.4. Based on hypothesis test results obtained sig value: 0.000 then smaller than 0.05, so there is a significant influence from the use of CTL approach to the ability to write a descriptionKeywords: write description, CTL (Contextual Teaching Learning) AbstrakMenulis merupakan salah satu aspek keterampilan berbahasa yang dipergunakan manusia untuk berkomunikasi atau menyampaikan pesan secara tidak langsung, Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: aktivitas guru dan siswa pada pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan metode CTL (contextual teaching and learning) ; perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran menulis deskripsi yang menggunakan metode CTL; dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan metode CTL. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas IV SDN Cengkong 1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  ini dapat dibuktikan dari nilai t hitung hitung (32,2) t tabel (1,67) dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% (0,05). Dengan demikian benar bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan, antara kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskripsi yang diberi perlakuan metode selain metode CTL  dengan kemampuan menulis siswa yang diberi perlakuan metode CTL). Adapun hasil pengamatan aktivitas guru dapat terlaksana 85% dan aktivitas siswa 80% terlaksana. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan lembar angket yang diberikan kepada siswa, menunjukkan respon yang positif yaitu sebesar 76%, artinya bahwa siswa merasa senang dan menyambut dengan baik tentang penerapan pendekatan CTL dalam pembelajaran menulis deskripsi. Berdasarkan data penelitian adanya perbedaan hasil tes awal dan akhir dengan rata-rata nilai tes awal 44,13 dan tes akhir 73,4. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh nilai sig: 0,000 maka lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan pendekatan CTL terhadap kemampuan menulis deskripsi.  Kata kunci : menulis deskripsi, CTL (Contextual Teaching Learning)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the moral values contained in five short stories by Kuntowijoyo in a collection of short stories recorded in a book titled "Forbidden to love the flowers". This research is descriptive qualitative research that is data collecting technique by utilizing library study so that it can describe intactly moral value contained in five short stories by Kuntowijoyo. The results of this research have been done is to know the moral values in each Kuntowijoyo short story and researchers analyzed five short stories, namely: 1) short stories are forbidden to love the flowers contain moral values about a serenity, tranquility and peace of soul; 2) a dog's short story contains a moral value about the importance of a tolerance; 3) a short piece of wood for God contains a moral value of sincerity and intent; 4) fish shorts in jar containing the moral value of reexamining the beliefs of a society; 5) short stories fishing fish in the river contains moral values to be wise again to respond between the desires and feelings of others.

Abstract

This article tries to express the concept of character education in Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) and Curriculum 2013 on Indonesian language level of junior high and high school. This research uses descriptive-analysis method. Pillar of character that is focused; (1) religious, (2) environmental care, (3) social care, (4) honest and (5) responsibility. The results showed that at the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP) at the junior high level the character education aspect has an average percentage of 90.42%, while the SMA level is 88.38%. As for the curriculum in 2013, the aspect of character education of junior high school has an average percentage of 95.00% while at the level of SMA 83.22%. These results indicate that character education inculcation is more at the Junior high school.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the Interscience of the intrinsic elements of the short story "Kembang Gunung Kapur" by Hasta Indriyana using structural analysis methods, and (2) to describe the moral values contained in the short story, both religious moral and social criticism. The short story "Kembang Gunung Kapur" is examined through data collection steps; (1) to read the short story "Kembang Gunung Kapur" intensively, (2) analyze the integrity of the intrinsic elements of the short story and describe it, then (3) to analyze the moral elements that the author wishes to convey to the short story and to describe it. After going through the process of research structural analysis and moral values, seen effort Hasta Indriyana which combine the elements of the intrinsic short story well, so the message of moral value contained in the short story can reach the reader.

Abstract

Literature is a work created by someone who will be published later, so the work he has made can be enjoyed by many people. A literary work written by an author whose purpose to read by others, in a literary work that has been created must have to contain the values that can be taken by readers. Among the many literary works we have read that we find interesting are the poems of "Keluarga Port" by WS Rendra. Poetry is a literary work that reveals the thoughts and feelings of a poet to the problems that exist in himself and his environment. It can also be studied from themes such as romance, religion, and feelings. Knowing that this article will analyze the nilaireligius on the "Portrait of the Family" portrait by WS Rendra. The focus of this article's discussion is the religious aspect that appears in the entire poem by using the critical methodology proposed by Teun A. van Dijk, by paying more attention to aspects of language, discourse, and communication process. This "Family Portrait" poem can give rise to an interpretation that will produce interpretations in understanding the overall religious meaning.

Abstract

The use of gadget in society currently cannot be separated in daily live activity, especially for students. This electronic gadget gives and provides specific information that we need.  Surely, this make student’s ease to find matter about any subjects. The purpose of this research is to know how far is the effect to students of IKIP Siliwangi Bandung about their study result.  This research is a descriptive qualitative research, so the effect of gadget to IKIP Siliwangi Bandung students are shown completely and detailed. The Instrument to take data was using online questionnaire that was distributed to whole IKIP Siliwangi Bandung students, with 41 respondents that fulfill five aspect on the questionnaire, use Guttmann scale to analyze the data. From 41 respondent the results are; commonly gadget effect to students about 48,53%, study by gadget about 55,12%, study without gadget about 35,7%, the effect of gadget about their study result about 46,34%, and the effect of study without gadget about 46,95%. The result shown that gadget is giving effect about the way students study, but is not effecting the result of study.
