Abstract

Caregiver burden is commonly used in nursing literature, however, a study exploring the caregiver burden of an advanced lung cancer patient has not yet been clearly defined. Therefore, this study Aims to develop an operational definition and analyze the attributes, antecedents and consequents of the theoretical concept of caregiver burden of advanced lung cancer. An electronic search from four different sources, such as online databases (PubMed, CINAHL (Cummulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health) Plus with Full Text, Chochrane Library, Google Scholar), journal articles, dictionaries and official health websites (both government and non-government). The paper adopted the framework by Walker and Advant. The attributes, antecedents and consequents of the concept were identified. The three attributes of caregiver burden were identified as Low Self- Efficacy, Multifaced Strain, and Overload. The antecedents included Caregiver’s characteristics, Health status, Insufficient financial resources, and social support. The consequences of the caregiver’s burden resulted in negative change, including decreased quality of Life, Health function, and psychological problems. A clear definition of caregiver burden was developed. The finding of this concept analysis can be used in Nursing practice, education and administration

Abstract

Filial therapy is a psychoeducational intervention designed to improve parent-child relationships, reduce problematic behavior in children, and reduce parental stress by including parents as therapeutic agents. Parent access-group sessions are facilitated by therapists who teach adult skills based on play therapy techniques, which parents then implement with their children under the supervision of a facilitator. The objective of this research is to determine differences in family stress between those who do Filial Therapy and those who do not receive Filial Therapy. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent pre-post-test approach with a control group. Identification of respondents according to the criteria, namely families with ABK and school-age children with special needs (7-12 years) at SLB Semarang. The instrument used was a questionnaire of Perceived Stress Scale. Before treatment, the average stress level in the control group was higher than that in the intervention group, 17.25 (Standard Deviation ± 5.01). The average stress level in the control and intervention groups before Filial therapy was carried out was relatively the same at 17.25 and 16.87. In contrast, after Filial therapy was performed in both groups, the stress level decreased by 15.62 and 10.00. The analysis using the independent t-test showed differences in the reduction in stress levels in the control and intervention groups before and after Filial therapy (p-value = 0.000). Conclusion: it can be concluded that filial therapy can significantly reduce the stress level of families with children's disabilities.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a neurological disease that affects the patient's perception, thought processes, language, emotions, and social behavior. The clinical manifestation that often appears in schizophrenic patients is self-care deficit (DPD). One of the efforts that nurses can make is to provide nursing care based on the theoretical framework developed by Orem. It is called the self-care theory, which has a complete explanation of the concept of self-care, self-care deficits, and nursing actions to overcome problems that arise so that the patient can be independent as optimally as possible, including the independence of the caregiver (caregiver) when the patient is at home. This study used a purposive sampling technique, a quasi-experimental pre-post test without a control design. The sample used was schizophrenic patients at Atma Husada Mahakam Psychiatric Hospital Samarinda, with 30 respondents. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, the t-value is 0.000, and the probability value (Sig.) is 0.05, so H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that self-care rehabilitation therapy by providing group activity therapy can increase the independence of schizophrenic patients. The average value of the patient's ADL ability after being given group activity therapy was 16.77, which was higher than the average value before the patient was given therapy, which was 12.27.

Abstract

One of the efforts to protect the community against Covid-19 cases is vaccination. However, in the preparation of vaccination, there are several negative issues related to vaccines, which make people doubt and even reject the effort. Predisposing factors include age, gender, occupation, income, education level, history of contact with people with COVID, and knowledge of vaccines, which can affect acceptance of vaccines. The purpose of this activity is to find out what factors affect public acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccine. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires via google form to the general public in January 2021. The total respondents were 411 respondents. The questionnaire uses the Public Perception Survey questionnaire for the Covid-19 Vaccine in Indonesia published by WHO and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Analysis using Chi-Square test. The survey results showed that 46.2% of respondents had not decided on and refused the vaccine, and 94.2% wanted to get information about the vaccine. Factors related to vaccine acceptance include age, work in the health sector, income level, education, fear of vaccines, the thought that there are many hoaxes regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, thoughts on vaccine safety, and thoughts on the dangers of vaccines. Accurate and scientific information, accompanied by easy access to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, is needed so that people with self-awareness carry out vaccinations to reduce the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Fifteen nurses who worked in the pediatric intensive care unit and the pediatric, maternal-child, and general wards of the Islamic Teaching Hospital in Indonesia were interviewed by telephone due to the COVID-19 pandemic period. Based on content analysis, five themes were extracted from the data: ways to assess pain vary, working with colleagues, attitudes toward pain-relief strategies, enhancing parental understanding and involvement, and desire to have age-specific pain management training for pediatric patients. The results revealed issues nurses face in real contexts. Pediatric nurses need pain management training to improve their knowledge and skills.

Abstract

Chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease that is caused due to an obstruction in a channel the airflow that much happening in Indonesia due to the high-risk factor exposure causes the onset of COPD as the habit of smoking and an unhealthy environment. Blockage in the airway that occurs in patients of COPD is usually characterized by shortness of breath. The various ways that can be done to overcome the shortness of breath are with nebulizer therapy. Nebulizer therapy action is undertaken in accordance with standard operating procedures (SPO) already determined, in the SPO mention the position at the time of the nebulizer therapy position fowler or semi fowler. This study aims to know the effectiveness of the grant the position of Fowler and semi fowler against the scale of the COPD patient shortness of breath while undergoing therapy nebulizer. Methode of this study is a quasy experiment in two groups using pre-test and post-test design. The study was conducted in General Hospital K.R.M. T Wongsonegoro Semarang with the total sample as many as 32 patients. The analysis using Mann Whitney with p-value 0.000 (p < 0.05) so that it can be concluded that there is a difference in the average scale of shortness of breath between fowler and semi fowler while undergoing group therapy nebulizer. The analysis showed that the position of semi fowler is more effective in lowering shortness of breath when compared to the position of fowler while undergoing therapy nebulizer.
