Abstract

This study aims to produce a reasonable digital simulation and communication module to improve the communication and collaboration skills of vocational students. This research is an R&D research with the 4D model, Subject The research is 30 students of SMK N 7 Padang. The instruments used in this research consisted of validation form of digital simulation and communication module, student’s response questionnaire form, form of the learning process with a project-based learning model, self-assessment of collaboration skill, peer-assessment of collaboration skill, observation sheet of collaboration skills, and observation sheet of communication skill. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative analysis for data of module validation and student's response. Quantitative analysis for collaboration skill training of self-assessment; peer-assessment; and observation sheet data and communication skill training of observation sheet data that for both of them by percentage calculation; gain score calculation; U Mann Whitney, and for the percentage of the learning process. The result showed that the module that has produced was reasonable to improve communication and collaboration skill of vocational students, where students communication skill training have moderate categories, it is 47,96% from “less” to be “good” with the significant difference before and after using the module score, by signification value (Sig.) was 0,000, student’s collaboration skill training have moderate categories, it is 31,54% from “enough” to be “good” with the significant difference before and after using the worksheet score, by signification value (Sig.) was 0,000 and the module got the student’s response with very well categories (A).

Abstract

Education is one of the most important things in human life. It can be categorised into formal and informal education. The former one is carried out in an institution called school. Lately, the issues regarding the low quality of education in Indonesia has been discussed. To date, Public demands on the quality of education have always been highly anticipated by various parties. The quality of education in formal education certainly involves the teacher, as the main foundation for creating high-quality generations. The role of the teacher is inseparable from the teaching profession in improving Human Resources (HR). Currently improving teacher quality can be seen from the performance and professionalism of a teacher which can be done with supervision. Supervision is an activity that is certainly designed to improve the quality of teachers in certain institutions. However, at this time supervision is said to not have a major effect on improving teacher performance and professionalism in carrying out their duties. This can be seen by the teacher only teach well when there is supervision at the time. The effect of improving the quality of education is not experiencing a good quality improvement. The low performance and professionalism of teachers based on teacher competency makes teachers incompetent. This should be done by the teacher without any connection at the time of supervision. Therefore, there is a need for supervision that has an impact on teachers’ performance and professionalism.

Abstract

This study aims to develop e-learning based modules to increase student motivation in Simulation and Digital Communication subjects at SMK N 1 Padang. The research method used is research and development using the Borg and Gall model which is limited to five research steps namely the data collection stage, the planning stage, the product development stage, the initial field trial stage, and dissemination. The object of the trial in this study was students of class X Machining C Engineering at SMK N 1 Padang, amounting to 33 people. The research instruments used were material expert validation sheets, media expert validation sheets, professional teacher response questionnaire, student response questionnaire, multiple-choice question instrument, and student motivation questionnaire. The results of the material expert validation showed 82.81% (very good). The results of the validation of the media experts showed 79.13% (very good). The results of professional teacher simulation and digital communication responses covered all aspects of the material and media at 86.71% (very good) and the results of student responses were obtained 80.20% (very good). The results of the student learning motivation questionnaire showed 85.13% (very good). To find out the increase in the achievement of knowledge competence is done by giving pre-test, treatment, post-test (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design) through the T-test, the results of the assessment on digital citizenship material obtained N-Gain 0.85 high category. Based on the data above, this study shows that the development of e-learning modules in Simulation and Digital Communication subjects can increase student motivation.

Abstract

This problem is motivated by children who are always forbidden to play with their peers outside the home on the grounds that parents are afraid of children addicted to play and become lazy to learn, this is very contrary to early childhood education, because the child's world should be a world of play. Parents will definitely provide the best parenting for their children, and parents have their own parenting, including authoritarian parenting. This authoritarian parenting style of parents will usually rule with all the lives of children and do not give children to choose what they want to do, including in children's social interactions, parents will forbid children to play for all reasons. That way the child will have a personality that can the child unable to interact with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Today's challenges are very diverse, the rapid development of technology cannot be avoided by society. It is undeniable that technology is like an obligation to be possessed by every human being uncomplicated by early childhood at this time, the many uses of technology by early childhood become a problem today. Digital literacy is an effort in empowering the community so that people can follow the movement of the times including the early childhood education at this time, education today must be able to provide innovation because the age continues to develop continuously because practical education will continue to occur and is unique for each individual and society in different situations at different times. Early childhood was born in the age of technology, they are often fascinated by games and new technologies, this greatly affects patterns of human life both in terms of thought patterns and behavior. With digital literacy learning in the early childhood stage, it is hoped that this nation can achieve the expected progress.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the supervision of the performance evaluation of school principals in cluster 1 in primary school Batang Gasan, Padang Pariaman District. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach by describing the supervision of the principal's performance in the learning process. Data collection techniques used were observation and interviews with a total of 8 principals. The results showed 60% of school principals as supervisors were very successful in conducting supervision activities with many changes that occurred in the school.

Abstract

The world of play is the world of early childhood by playing children interacting with their playmates using tools, namely language, with the language of the child being able to express the contents of their hearts and minds so that other people are able to understand what the child means. We can know that early language development in children begins at birth. Children's language development is intended to enable children to communicate verbally with the surrounding environment so that parents and adults can provide optimal language stimulation in accordance with the stages of early childhood development. Environmental impact and parenting are very influential so that it becomes the cause of children's language development thus language development will be better if the child gets a stimulus and guidance from his own parents, many things parents can do such as developing aspects of language development through storytelling, playing with children, communicate actively with children because first and foremost education is the family environment.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how academic supervision by school principals which can improve teacher professional competence in public. This research used an action research approach with descriptive method. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation study. The subjects of the study were elementary school teachers at SDN 14 Belanti Barat Padang. Data were analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the academic supervision of school principals can improve the professional competence of teachers at SDN 14 Belanti Barat. This can be seen from the achievement of the average value before and after being given guidance as it has increased in the first cycle the average value is 71.8 and in the second cycle is 78.64.

Abstract

Academic supervision is a series of activities to help teachers develop their abilities in managing the learning process for the achievement of learning objectives. This study aims to determine how the planning, implementation, and obstacles of academic supervision by the school principal in improving the professional competence of teachers at MIN 4 Padang Pariaman. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation study. Research subjects were the principal, vice-principal, and teachers. Data were analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that academic supervision planning was prepared at the beginning of the new school year by involving vice principals, and teachers. The goal of planning the academic supervision of principals is the ability of teachers to manage to learn, starting from planning, implementing, and evaluating student learning outcomes. Academic supervision is carried out prior to communicating to teachers, conducted twice in one semester, or four times in one school year. The academic supervision techniques used are class visits, teacher meetings, teacher working groups, and training. Barriers to academic supervision still lack the school administration staff. The existence of external activities that are sudden, so that the supervision schedule that has been prepared previously is also disrupted. Teachers who are unable to attend the scheduled class visit. Teachers who are supervised feel scared and stiff when supervised. There are still some teachers who do not master information and communication technology.

Abstract

The most important influence in the family environment is the role of parents about how the family functions and parenting that parents do to children.
