Abstract

Raffia rope is very popular because of its many uses, in other words it is a versatile tool. In general, raffia ropes are widely used for various matters such as business in agriculture, as a binder, as a decoration for crafts, as hangers for clothes, sewing sacks, as reinforcement materials, and many others. Raffia straps are available in the form of rolls. At this time, there are still many processes of rolling raffia still using manual methods such as direct hand rolling or using traditional methods that still use a lot of human power so that it is considered ineffective and inefficient. Because there is still a lot of traditional process of rolling the rope or using hands, the idea arises to make a raffia rope rolling machine using a motorbike and transmission. Technically appropriate technology is a bridge between traditional technology and advanced technology, therefore socio-cultural and economic aspects are also dimensions that must be taken into account in managing appropriate technology. From the desired goals, appropriate technology must apply methods that are resource-efficient, easy to maintain, and have minimal minimalistic impact. The aim of this research is to design, make and test rapia rope rollers so that they are suitable to be used to help facilitate the work of the community in the process of rolling rapia. Abstract

This cracker dryer is made considering that there are still many cracker industries that use solar thermal energy directly to dry raw crackers before the frying process, so that the cracker production results will decrease due to inefficient drying process, therefore all obstacles are always experienced when using energy sunlight can be overcome by using a cracker dryer using gas (LPG). This cracker dryer has dimensions of length 550 mm x width of 450 mm x height of 1000 mm and size of drying rack with a length of 500 mm x width of 400 mm x height of 25 mm. This tool has 4 drying racks with a capacity of each rack 1.5 kg. This dryer uses the principle of convection that is utilizing heat energy generated from the heat of the fire produced through a gas-using stove (LPG), the radiated fire produces heat that enters the drying cabinet. Hot air is locked in a drying room, so that the heat can help the drying process of crackers

Abstract

The pump is a device that can lift water from a lower height to a higher place, but because there are many pumps in the market that use electricity as a power plant and the selling price is quite high for rural communities, an appropriate pump is needed and cheap. Hydram pump is one alternative, where the workings of this tool can raise the water to a higher place with energy or power that comes from the water itself. Making Hydram pumps itself is relatively inexpensive, simple and durable. Hydram pumps are very popular because they work without using energy, so it is suitable for use in villages that do not have electricity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the height of the incoming water and the diameter of the outlet pipe on the height of the outlet water at the hydram pump. In this study the height of the incoming water was varied as high as 0.5m, 1m and 1.5m while the diameter of the aoutlaet pipe was varied by 0.5inc, ¾ inc and 1 inc. From this experiment it was found that the height of the incoming water and the diameter of the outlet pipe significantly influence the height of the outgoing water, of the two factors most influential on the height of the outgoing water is the height of the incoming water

Abstract

Casting is a manufacturing procces that use mold and molten metal to make parts. Geometry of the mold is almost same with the product. Shape of sand mold is negative shape of product that according to desire pattern. Making procces of mold must following right composition of sand mold. After through some test, strength of sand mold is depand on composition of mater. Value of the test on table 1 (89% sand, 9% water glass, and 2% water, has tensile strength 0,66 N/mm2 ) and compared to table 3. (85% sand, 9% water glass dan 2% water, has tensile strength 0,415 N/mm2 ). Based on the test, mold with 100% new sand has better collapse is mold with composition 94% new sand, 4% water glass, 2% water, has tensile strength 0,417 N/mm2, but, muld with 50% new sand 50% recycle sand has better collapse is mold with composition 45% new sand, 45% recycle sand, 6% water glass, and 4% water, has tensile strength 0,474 N/mm2.

Abstract

In the recent years,almost every house, has domestic refrigerator wich still use CFC-12 refrigerant as the fluid.When the leakage happen, the refrigerant causes the demage of ozon such as forming the ozon side then radiation of ultra violet from the sun ray in high intensity reach the surface on each directly and it is dangerous for the human life. The Hidrocarbon refrigerant (HCR-12) is considered as one of alternative, wich is environmentally friendly,more energy to save and without modification, to replace the CFC-12.This research compare the performance of household refrigerator using the CFC-12 refrigerant and HCR-12 without the modification of refrigerator.The result shown from the COP, that the refrigerators work for both of refrigerant is relatively the same and the quality of the ice product from HCR-12 is better than CFC-12, because the amount of the energy wich is absorbed by HCR-12 during the evapouration process is bigger than CFC-12. Analyzing the amount of refrigerant weight fullfilled to refrigerator, HCR-12 only uses 40 % from CFC-12,If the price of both refrigerant is the same,the use of HCR-12 is profitible than the use of CFC-12

Abstract

Industry era 4.0 allows the use of cyber technology, both physical and non-physical, in all aspects of life, including the toy industry. 3-dimensional printers as a key technology industry 4.0 plays an important role. Before it is printed using a 3D printer, it becomes a real product ready to be marketed, first the product is simulated to find out if the toy product can move according to the kinematics that we design. This analysis includes the displacement, velocity, and linear and angular acceleration of the Monobike component. In this research, the analysis of component movements is limited to Link 3. In this study, a toy that can mimic the motion of an object as precisely as possible is determined, which is a monobike toy. Monobike mechanical toys mimic human activities of pedaling a bicycle. The methodology in this research is as follows: 1) Determine the dimensions of the monobike component, 2) Determine the monobike drive components, 3) Make a monobike kinematic diagram, 4) Perform kinematic analysis using the position vector of the monobike component, 5) Perform displacement, velocity calculations , and theoretical acceleration with Excel, 6) Perform kinematic analysis with Solidworks, 7) Comparison of theoretical calculation results and Solidworks simulation results. Based on the results of theoretical research and Solidworks simulations, the values ​​of displacement, velocity and acceleration are close. The average error for linear displacement is 0.261%, linear velocity 0.852%, linear acceleration 0.7664%, angular velocity 0.372%, and angular acceleration 0.492%. Kinematic analysis in monobike mechanical toys theoretically using Excel and simulation with Solidworks software, the results are more or less the same, so it can be said that this research is accurate. Solidworks is recommended as software that can be used to simulate movements in kinematic analysis.

Abstract

Experiments have been carried out to obtain the decomposition of cobalt carbonate cobalt oxide to be used as raw material for the manufacture of calcium cobalt oxide thermoelectric materials. The experiments were performed by heating cobalt carbonate powder material (CoCO3) from Kanto Chemical with a temperature of 1000°C. Heating aims to obtain Co3O4 phase. Co3O4 phase is what will be used in the manufacture of thermoelectric materials based on the phase diagram of the system Ca-Co-O. The results of X-ray diffraction CoCO3 materials are heated to 1000°C showed that Co3O4 phase has been formed. Analysis quantitative diffraction pattern shows the diffraction peaks are the property throughout the Co3O4 phase. The crystal structure of Co3O4 is Face Centered Cubic (FCC) with space group F d -3 m. Lattice parameters of the diffraction pattern is the result of smoothing a = 8.0838 Å.

Abstract

Mata pisau mesin irat bambu berperan penting dalam menentukan kualitas produk industri kreatif bambu di desa Kebonagung Kecamatan Padangan Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Alat pemotong harus memiliki karakteristik menghasilkan kualitas pemotongan baik [9] . Kualitas pisau mesin irat bambu dapat dilihat dari hasil potongan dan life time. Faktor yang mengurangi kualitas dan life time mata pisau adalah gesekan dan panas. Cara meningkatkan kualitas dan life time dapat dilakukan dengan memperbaiki sifat mekanisnya. Perbaikan sifat mekanis dapat dilakukan melalui heat treatment, surface treatment, coating dan lain-lain [5]. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas mata pisau mesin irat bambu dengan mengetahui perubahan sifat mekanis melalui perubahan struktur mikro, nilai kekerasan optimal, dan kekuatan tarik maksimal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan analisis skala laboratorium. Proses heat treatment mata pisau irat bambu dilakukan pada temperatur 725°C dengan holding time 10 menit, 20 menit, 30 menit, proses tempering pada temperatur 600°C selama 20 menit. Hasil uji struktur mikro mata pisau dengan holding time 30 menit memiliki ukuran butir logam yang lebih halus dan merata. Nilai kekerasan tertinggi adalah 59,13 HRC pada mata pisau dengan holding time 30 menit. Nilai rata – rata modulus elastisitas tertinggi adalah pada specimen dengan holding time 20 menit yaitu 6,87 N/mm2.

Abstract

Human needs with wood continue to increase along with the increasing population, on the other hand Indonesia has a very large supply of wood. One way to overcome this is by substituting the use of wood from composite board products from wood or non-wood waste materials such as sawdust, coconut fiber, OPEFB fiber, bamboo fiber, bagasse and others. Composite board manufacturing technology is strongly influenced by the temperature, time and pressure contained in the hot press, either the system works manually or mechanically. The use of a hot press machine has so far been simple using an electric heating element from an iron element. For a n area of 40 cm x 40 cm board molding required 2 iron elements, the heat generated is not optimal (up to 1200 C), to heat the board to 1500 C the heating element often breaks / burns, this is certainly less efficient. Stripe heater type electric heating element is a flat plate heating element (Hot Plate) which can be used to heat a flat surface on pressing lignocellulosic material. The purpose of this research is to engineer and design and manufacture small scale heat press for 40 cm x 40 cm mold size, to test hot press and to test the physical and mechanical properties of composite boards. From the results of the manufacture of hot pressing tools obtained tool size 100 cm x 60 cm using iron profile u size 12 cm x 6 cm x 6 cm with a thickness of 0.4 cm. The pressure unit consists of a base plate measuring 40 cm x 40 cm x 1.5 cm, a pressure plate measuring 40 cm x 40 cm x 0.8 cm, a heating element measuring 40 cm x 40 cm x 0.5 cm using a power of 1.5 Kw each one. The suppressor component uses a hydraulic jack with a pressure of 50 tons. The heating element circuit is contained in the electrical panel box consisting of MCB, sign lights, thermocouple, amperemeter, and electrical wires. From the results of the heat test on the surface of the pressure plate obtained heat spread evenly on the entire surface of the plate and the pressure applied to the pressure plate is able to withstand the pressure from the hydraulic jack with a flat surface shape.

Abstract

The rains will make a serious problem for the transportation sector in Indonesia, especially in areas that do not have permanent access roads (asphalt or concrete roads). Heavy vehicles such as oil palm trucks will go into the skid when crossing muddy dirt roads, and it makes an impact on the logistics delivery process. It is necessary for designing a support system, especially on the part of the wheel, to reduce the risk of skidding or rolling. Anti-slip shoe wheels of the colt diesel double (CDD) type truck is used on the rear-wheel-drive as a tool for handling slippage. Calculations and corrections are performed for maximum traction of the ground rolling resistance at ≥ 396 kg. Furthermore, the value of soil cohesion and soil shear angle was determined from the previous studies. In this study, a calculation simulation was carried out to obtain the design of the main components of an antislip wheel of a truck, which is in the form of a traction rod fin using steel UNP SNI 07-0052-2006 with a fin depth of 4.5 cm and a length of 20 cm. These dimensions are effective enough to increase the truck wheel traction of 8 tons when used to cross muddy roads with a maximum water content of 59.6% and a minimum cohesion value of land (C) of 0.108 kg/cm2
