Abstract

andemic times make students feel stressed during home learning. They admit that they are stressed and confused to do various activities that support their productivity. The pressure they experience during this home based learning results in their passivity when learning. This is the background of this research. The data collected proved that students experienced stress during home learning process. The results found that 90.67% of students were bored, 81.67% of students were not productive and often complained. This study aims to find the best solution in dealing with student stress during the home learning period. The research finally found that the games method was very suitable for the students' current conditions, because 89.33% of students are very happy with this method. This research uses questionnaire sheets, observation sheets, and interview sheets in the data collection process. The data that has been collected is processed using descriptive statistical data collection techniques. This research was conducted at the Lentera Harapan Tomohon School, North Sulawesi. This research was conducted for two weeks from November 02, 2020 – November 13, 2020. The subjects of this study were 90 grade VIII students. This research finally succeeded in finding a method that was suitable for the current situation. Keywords: Stressed, Home Learning, Games

Abstract

Introducing English from an early age should be supported by adequate media and infrastructure. Learning should be arranged in such a way as to give birth to learning activities that are important and fun. Therefore, it requires perfect and efficient teaching methods. Research on "Introducing English to early childhood through singing with the TPR method" aims to introduce English by singing to early childhood at al-Hidayah Kindergarten, Greged District, Cirebon. The method used is a descriptive analysis of activities carried out by fostering the ability to recognize English in early childhood. The process is carried out using several methods such as singing while playing and singing, with movements using learning media. The conclusion is that by using the singing and playing method, early childhood children can easily recognize the vocabulary, and can accidentally add to the vocabulary of the child.

Abstract

This study aims to see an overview of the adaptations that students have made to learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in biology subjects at Ponorogo 1 Public High School. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method with data collection carried out through online questionnaires using the google formula to 361 students of Ponorogo 1 Public High School from Class X, XI, and XII MIPA related to the implementation of biology learning. Based on online questionnaires, 67.31% of respondents had difficulty understanding the learning material because they did not meet directly with the teacher so that 50.14% of respondents tried to always come on time to participate in online learning. The application that mostly like by 68.70% of respondents is google classroom. While 93.91% of respondents can apply independent learning, and 77.56% of respondents feel happy with online learning.

Abstract

The background of this research comes from the viral post of Mang Oleh’s homemade named Odading cake. Well-known uniquely reviewed by a man named Ade Londok. The controversial diction that is used by Ade Londok is very interesting, unusual, and of course, amusing. His entertaining figure with his unusual review style made this man from the city of Bandung go viral. Previously, it was well-known that Ade Londok was promoting a typical Bandung home made cake called Odading in an amusing manner. He promoted Odading with his mixed accents, between Sundanese and Indonesian. He also slips in a tickling rhyme so that it makes his figure interesting to be viral. The approach used in this research is critical discourse analysis that used a video of Ade Londok and the script of his speech as the source to collect the data. The findings show that the content used Abstract word, Special word, Popular word, and Jargon. It can be concluded as in its original, primary meaning, refers to writers’ or speakers’ distinctive vocabulary choices and style of expression.

Abstract

In Bandung district many Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are not familiar with entrepreneurship education due to limited access to it. Meanwhile, the potential of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is enormous, especially in the culinary field. In fact, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can contribute as much as 57.8% of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) revenue. Of course, this phenomenon will affect the business activities of business actors, one of which is the difficulty in developing marketing in their business. This study aims to determine how the influence of entrepreneurship education on marketing development in the culinary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Bandung District. Data were taken using quantitative methods through a preliminary survey of 50 respondents of culinary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bandung District. The results show that there is a positive and significant influence of entrepreneurship education on the development of the culinary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) market in Bandung District. The facts prove that all respondents studied relied on self-taught methods to learn business, without any special education about entrepreneurship given. Therefore, this phenomenon results in the difficulty of marketing development carried out by culinary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bandung District due to the absence of entrepreneurial education obtained by culinary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bandung District.

Abstract

This research was conducted because HOTS is a significant factor in achieving the learning process in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, HOTS is a solution that students become active and participatory in the learning process, teachers not only explain learning in front of the class, but students must be more active to describe the problems that were found during learning, therefore, the researcher wanted to investigate how the HOTS process was implemented in teaching English at X grade of MTI Pasia in the 2019/2020 school year. The purpose of this research to know how the English teacher at X grade of MTI Pasia apply HOTS in Teaching english process, especially in developing productive and receptive skills according to the level of critical thinking.This type of this research was a qualitative descriptive study, the instruments of this study were documentation (document analysis) and observation sheets to collected the data. The subjects in this study was X grade English teachers at MTI Pasia in the 2019/2020 academic year. The results of this study obtained from the document analysis and observation sheets found that, the English teacher at X gradeof MTI pasia did not apply HOTS in teaching English and learning process. The English teacher only applied HOTS to the learning design, it was not apply to the process in learning, this happened not because it was caused by online learning due to COVID 19 pandemic, but it was happened because the teacher did not encourage learning to be effective during thepandemic, the teacher should still be able to improved the learning process using technological advances,even though it was still a long of perfection than face-to-face learning.

Abstract

This study is intended to find out the strategies used to assess the students and some challenges faced by lecturers in ESP classes at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The researchers were interested in finding the types of assessment and how lecturers conduct assessment during pandemic era. An exploratory sequential mixed methods design was used in this study to answer the research questions. Both quantitative and qualitative design were used to deepen the data. The subjects in this research were English lecturers who taught ESP classes in several majors at UIN Maliki Malang. The results from data collection revealed that the assessment which employed by lecturers was fit with the characteristics of students. The differences of assessment were caused by the students’ dissimilar characteristics and their background. Finally, this study addressed suggestions for English lecturers, stakeholder and future researchers regarding the assessment to run in online class. Assessment must be created and developed well for the students before they join the lesson and the lecturer has to use several strategies to handle in case if one of the assessment tools does not work.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effect of using indirect corrective feedback to eliminate grammatical errors in students' writing. This research was conducted at SMKN 1 Padang Panjang because most of students still encounter problems in mastering writing text especially grammatical aspect. Most of the students' writing was founded many of grammatical error. Then, the students still did not get the appropriate feedback of the teacher toward their errors. And, the teacher also did not give the spesific feedback or treatment to help the students in reducing the error. This research used pre-experiment research. The researcher used one-group pretest posttest design. To determine sample, the researcher used purposive sampling technique. The data got from the pre-test and post-test in experiment class. To analyze the data, the resercher used the normality test and homogeneity test by using SPSS Statistics20 and to test the hypothesis the researcher used t-test formula and consulted the result into t-table with level of significant a=0.05. From the result and accounting the post-test of experiment class,it was founded that using indirect corrective feedback in eliminate grammatical error had better result than without indirect coreective feedback. It can be seen by comparing the t-obtained (2) that higher than the t-table (1.706).

Abstract

This research was motivated by the disruption of the student learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic at MTI PASIA. This research was conducted to know how the level of student satisfaction in class X, XI, and XII at MTI PASIA on learning from home using E-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.The design of this research was survey and the instrument used is a questionnaire. The subjects of this research were students of class X, XI and XII with a total of 167 students and students who will be used as research samples as many as 118 students. The instrument validity test was carried out by distributing instruments to 3 experts as instrument validators and to analyze the data using quantitative descriptive techniques with percentages.Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, the title of this research is the level of satisfaction of students learning English from home at MTI PASIA during the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers conducted research to know how the level of student satisfaction in learning English towards the objectives and learning components. The results obtained that the level of satisfaction of student towards learning objectives and learning component are 45.92%, teacher 48.30%, student 48.68%, material 50.78%, method 49.83%, strategy 48.89%, media 49.65% and evaluation 49, 48%. Theaverage answer was 48.94% or ≥40% -≤70% and that means they are quite satisfied, according to data interpretation that has been determined.

Abstract

The educational system across the world has been affected due to outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, this new phenomenon forced teachers and students to do teaching and learning process from home. The purpose of writing this study was to investigate the students' perceptions of online learning has been implemented and the factors that influenced these perceptions. Therefore, this survey asked 60 students in Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Migas Balikpapan to convey their perception on the effect of online during Covid-19. The finding of this study revealed that students positively accepted this new learning system although they’ve found some problems such as difficulty in using application and lack of the internet connection, etc.
