Abstract

Information is the core of all development processes, includingtheenvironment of Bangka Belitung University, where the learning process and the development of knowledge occur. The library of Bangka Belitung University as one of the technical implementing units, has a role in providing the information, especially the information that is credible, relevant, up to date and proportionate despite the funding, policy and management constraints faced by the library in carrying out the information. The presence of digital technology, internet and communication tools provides opportunities for the library of Bangka Belitung University in developing collections at the Bangka Belitung University Library. This study aimsto findout the efforts of the Bangka Belitung University library related to digital literacy as an effort to meet the information needs of the academic community of Bangka Belitung University? The method used was qualitative, and the datawere collected using the partisivan observation and documents. The study reveals three findings as follows: first, the Bangka Belitung University Library tried to build digital literacy competence for librarians through training activities, technical guidance and workshop, second, maximizing digital literacy competence in collecting, storing and disseminating information in the library of Bangka Belitung University and third, building digital literacy competence for users and / or students.

Abstract

The internet and the habits of people who prefer watching and listening become one of the opportunities that can be used for promotion. The library has been using library services and facilities, while information products can be used to guide people who can find out the information presented in the print collection. The method used to provide information on the promotion of information products through a visual process. Develop visual content-based promotion strategies that require visualization that can be used as resources. In addition to building visual content there are several elements that need to be known by a librarian or visualiser, such as regulation, balance, color, legibility and interest.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of librarians to increase reading interest in the digital era. The purpose of this study is to identify the things which should be done by librarians to build a reading culture in the present. This research is using qualitative method. Literature review is a research approach which is used to obtain descriptive analysis. The results of this study note that to build interest in reading in the digital era, librarians must be able to identify the needs of users, increase the availability of quality collections, build communication with the government, and participate in professional organizations to improve their competence.

Abstract

The achievement of librarian performance is closely related to the purpose of its agency. Librarians within the scope of the Ministry of Agriculture are librarians who are appointed through the selection of Civil Servant registration and regulated Performance by Minister of Administrative Reform Decree No. 132 / KEP / M.PAN / 12/2002 on Functional Position of Librarian and Credit Score. Achieving optimal performance requires a boost in running it. The motivation for work is a good driver factor not separated. This study aimed to analyzed how motivational factors significantly affect the performance of librarians scope of the Ministry of Agriculture. The study was conducted on 30 institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture with the number of respondents as much as 72 respondents. The result shows that motivating factors that affect the performance of librarians in the scope of the ministry of agriculture namely working conditions and salary/allowances. While the policy, quality of supervision, and interpersonal relationships do not affect the performance of librarians.

Abstract

Moving Librarian must be active and creative to improve their skills and develop the creativities to serve and providing the best for their institution. Research and innovations that are increasingly intense, must be immediatly captures and responded by librarians as information and knowledge manager. The purpose of this paper is to provide tips to librarians, how to utilized e-resorces for research and innovation for lecturers and researchers. The methode used in this study is deskription methode base on application/implementation of the author’s experience to present information from various e-resources for lecturers and researchers. The information that presented to the lecturers and researchers proven can produce innovation that are beneficial for our country development.

Abstract

Each college certainly has a lot of work that has been produced by all of its academicians. Various works are stored in a database in the form of digital content called repositories. University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Institutional Repository (IR) is a place to store various scientific works produced by UMM academicians. But there are still many who do not know the existence and function, this makes IR underutilized. The purpose of this paper is so that all academics can know and utilize the maximum possible IR facilities. The method used is qualitative. The focus in this study is to explain the use of institutional repositories as educational resources for the academic community of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Data collection techniques use observation and documentation. There was a drastic increase in IR access statistics in 2018. This shows that the socialization carried out by the library regarding the IR to its users has resulted. There are so many functions of IR that the academic community has not yet known that their use is not fully utilized. The functions of IR include searching for collections, uploading independent writings, and most importantly, as a source of learning for all academics.

Abstract

This research is about the relationship between the level of CALIS knowledge and satisfaction among international students: a case study at Library of Central China Normal University (CCNU). This research used quantitative approach that divided in two analyses such as descriptive statistic and inferential statistic. In the descriptive statistic, this study aims to describe the demographic information such as gender, age, major, country, and level of education. In the inferential statistic, the study obtains the relationship between knowledge of users and users satisfaction, then it obtains the effect of users knowledge and users satisfaction. The finding of this study has showed CALIS in CCNU library need to be further introduced to the international students. International students lacked knowledge of CALIS, therefore they didn’t know how to properly access CALIS. After the author conducted a survey to international students, the author found the students have the basic level of knowledge of CALIS, but when it comes to accessing the thesis, they have a constraint due to the Chinese language. Therefore, the information that they needed was not quickly available. In conclusion, the results of user accessibility indicated when knowledge of CALIS increased, the level of user satisfaction also increased. Likewise, when the user lacked knowledge, the level of user satisfaction also lacked.

Abstract

Bahasan mengenai generasi millennial saat ini menjadi trend karena perilaku mereka yang berbeda dengan generasi sebelumnya. Bagaimana dengan generasi pascamillenial yang saat ini sudah mulai terlihat?. Generasi pasca milenial yang biasa disebut generasi Zhed dan alfa mempunyai ciri yang unik diantara generasi millennials yaitu sangat mahir menggunakan teknologi. Tulisan ini akan mencoba melihat bagaimana perpustakaan dijalankan oleh generasi millennials untuk para generasi pascamillenials. Metodologi yang dipakai adalah deskriptif analis terhadap aspek pengadaan dan pengolahan informasi , aspek Pelayanan perpustakaan dan aspek kualifikasi Pustakawan di era generasi pascamillenial, data diambil dengan menggunakan forum grup diskusi dengan melibatkan pustakawan dari Inggris, Malaysia, India dan Jepang. Untuk mendukung data dilakukan studi pustaka dan wawancara dari pakar salah satunya adalah dari Library of Congress – Washington DC yang sedang berkunjung ke Indonesia untuk menghadiri Lokakarya. Data dianalisa dan diolah secara deskritif sehingga mendapatkan gambaran utuh mengenai bagaimana pengelolaan perpustakaan di tangan generasi millennials. Temuan yang diperoleh adalah ketiga aspek tersebut akan sangat berubah dengan hadirnya teknolgi kecerdasan buatan dan bigdata serta machine learning. Selain itu perpustakaan akan berperan penting sebagai hyper konektifitas pengetahuan yang berfungsi sebagai konektor pengetahuan kepada komunitas, pemerintah, individu. kesimpulan dari paper ini adalah pelayanan perpustakaan di era pascamillenial akan semakin kompleks dan kemampuan pustakawan yang akan banyak berubah dari dari banyak hal bukan hanya aspek teknis maupun aspek non teknis seperti kemampuan untuk mentransformasikan pengetahuan kepada pemustaka di tangan generasi pascamilenial.

Abstract

Knowledge sharing in University level happens at the core activites of University. Almost all academics in University are doing knowledge sharing. Knowledge sharing could be found at learning, teaching and community services process. College students and lecturers are the one who mostly doing knowledge sharing. In University, knowledge sharing become an important process because there are difference between learning and studying in High School and in Univeristy. This research used SECI Model to analyze knowedge sharing. SECI Model is used to analyzed the creation and transfer of knowledge developed by Takeuchi and Nonaka (1995). SECI is an acronym for Socialization, Externalization, Combination and Internalization. By doing knowledge sharing college students could get the exsisted knowledge and even new knowledge. The result of this research shows undergraduate students of library science at university of Indonesia batch 2019 are doing knowledge sharing and they are using LINE application as a media.
