The Indonesian Journal of Social Studies was founded in 2018 in order to offer the disciplines in the field of social science education a representative scholarly publication. The journal represents a sophisticated image that is characterised by its theory and research orientation, interdisciplinary approach, internationalism and originality as well as by a rigorous anonymous peer review. The Indonesian Journal of Social Studies is a journal published every 6 months, namely July and December, published by the Department of Social Studies, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. IJSS has e-ISSN 2615-5966. This journal is expected to become an accredited and reputable journal in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to emphasize the characteristics of social studies for civic education practice in Japan through a case study of junior high school 3rd grade practice of Ĺ“human rights learning through participatory hands-on learning and to show comparative viewpoints on social studies in Indonesia. The following points became clear as a result of this research. First, through the unit of social studies and civic education, students could have fun and realize the value of human rights by adopting a participatory experiential approach to learning with the inclusion of workshops and simulated trials. This point is one of the important characteristics of citizenship in a democratic society. Second, in a social studies and civic education class, the students actively respected others opinions and learned from each other by actively participating in group activities and discussions. This point forms the basis of the citizenship necessary to form a democratic society. The above two points are thought to have implications for the social studies for civic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is one important aspect of customer service in a company that engaged in services. This research was conducted to observe the influence of interpersonal communication of Go-Jek Indonesias customer service on customer loyalty in Jabodetabek and what other factors may come into play to achieve such a result. The principle theory used in this research is the theory of interpersonal communication with customer loyalty as the supporting theory. The research method used is the quantitative explanative method, by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents of Go-Jek Indonesias users who have contacted the customer service. This research uses the Likert scale as the measurement scale. The results of the research found the contribution of interpersonal communication of Go-Jek Indonesias customer service value equals to 37,3% on customer loyalty in Jabodetabek, with a result of regression coefficient value equal to 0,552 and constant value equal to 32,444.

Abstract

Contextual Learning Teaching and Learning as a learning concept that helps teachers link the material taught with real-world situations of students so that the knowledge possessed will be applied in the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning Contextual Teaching and Learning social studies subjects to increase student motivation and learning achievement. The method used in this research is qualitative with qualitative descriptive research. The results showed that: the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model made students more active because the material taught was connected directly to the daily lives of students so students could more easily understand the material applied. Students are enthusiastic about the questions given by the teacher with different answers based on experience. Improved learning achievement because students understand not memorize.

Abstract

Globalization has caused a local-scale value system to move along with the accelerating rate of globalization being accepted as a universal value system. One is philanthropy, practiced by various institutions and social organization. Tri Hita Karana as a relational concept of human relations, environment and God prevailing in Bali, it is interesting to observe through the construction pattern social which includes institutionalization, legitimacy and socialization. The purpose of this study is to contribute critically, holistically and comprehensively on philanthropic practices in cooperation social responsibility programs carried out through social construction. This study used a qualitative method with a purposive determination of informants. The results showed that the social construction of Tri Hita Karana was carried out on the practice of philanthropy through the pattern of institutionalization, legitimacy and socialization.

Abstract

Tujuan Penulisan Artikel ini dimaksudkan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan kajian literature dalam bidang komunikasi pemasaran terpadu yang memfokuskan pada implementasi promosi dengan menggunakan media social Instagram. Aplikasi proyek dilakukan pada perusahaan yang memiliki permasalahan mengenai ekuitas merek, melalui implementasi aktivitas pemasaran media social diharapkan dapat meningkatkan awareness pengunjung wisata. Penelitian proyek ini dilaksanakan melalui metode penelitian kualitatif, dengan mengaplikasikan model kualitatif dari Bogdan & Taylor melalui metode wawancara dan observasi. Interview dilakukan dengan pihak internal perusahaan, ahli media sosial, ahli graphic design, dan konsumen. Studi pustaka dilakukan untuk melengkapi data penelitian yang dianalisis menjadi tiga tahap, yaitu; pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, dan interpretasi data. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa peningkatan awareness tidak hanya dilakukan dengan content merek dan produk saja, namun perlu memperhatikan visualisasi Instagram, visualisasi instagram sangat menentukan respon netizen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pengelolaan aktivitas pemasaran melalui instagram dapat dijadikan salah satu alternative meningkatkan awareness pengunjung wisata, khususnya pengelolaan menggunakan metode 4c (context, communication, collaboration, dan connection) yang di kelola melalui editorial plan.

Abstract

This article is discusson entrepreneurial learning activities using WhatsApp application and entrepreneurial video media, including student responses to entrepreneurship learning in written texts enacted on WhatsApp, and the entrepreneurship learning responses in the video production process was delivered on WhatsApp. This study employed a qualitative approach. We recruited 400 students from STKIP PGRI Jombang, STKIP PGRI Nganjuk, STKIP PGRI Tulungagung, and UNWAHA to participate in the study. Findings suggested thatthe majority of the students attained sustained motivation in entrepreneurship learning. They also engaged in creative learning using video in the WhatsApp enactment. Our study calls for pedagogical decisions for teachers to employ this learning model in other classroom subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to anticipate radicalism and terrorism by instilling religious, tolerance, love for the country that exist in rebo wekasan tradition through modules in learning activities on class VII MTs. Daruttaqwa Suci with validation of the Silabus, RPP, rebo wekasan tradition module, module testing. Testing the student questionnaire module with 25 questions (religious-10, tolerance-8, love for the country-7). The completeness of learning outcomes VII A2 and VII B2 using multiple choice has increased by 13, 09%, a difference of 9.41 (VII A2) and increase of 10, 64%, a difference of 10.44 (VII B2) so that modules is very effective in learning . Hypothesis non-parametric Kruskall Wallis a significant value of 0.000 if the P value <0.05 then H1 accepted, Ho is rejected, mean difference in value before and after being given the module. Based on the results of data analysis, learning the rebo wekasan tradition module in instilling religious, tolerance, love for the country on the material of the influence of social interaction on the formation of social institutions is effective in anticipating radicalism and terrorism.

Abstract

From the case of the arrest of the perpetrators of the smuggling of one tonne of methamphetamine from China on the Wanderlust ship in Banten, and previously on March 1, 2017 in Medan, the perpetrators of narcotics smuggling from China were also caught with the type of methamphetamine weighing 12.72 grams, ecstasy as many as 3,702 pills, happy five as much as 454 points can provide clues about the existence of an organized motive from China to control Indonesia through narcotics or at least become a major player in the narcotics market in Indonesia. If traced through history, the opium culture in Indonesia is not a native Indonesian culture but was born as a result of the influence of Chinese migrants. This study aims to prove the pattern carried out by Chinese migrants in Indonesia related to narcotics from the colonial period to the present as well as the development of the culture of using opium from each period as well as regulation through the law against narcotics abuse.
