Abstract

Due to children's lack of knowledge and attitudes about how to save themselves during an earthquake, school-age children are one of the vulnerable groups who become the most victims during an earthquake. One of the efforts to minimize victims of school-age children during an earthquake is to provide self-rescue simulation training during an earthquake. This study aimed to describe the knowledge and attitude preparedness of school-age children in the face of an earthquake after being given a simulation of self-rescue during an earthquake in RW 02, Kelurahan Pasia Nan Tigo. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study amounted to 32 school-age children using the total sampling technique. The data was collected by spreading questionnaires of knowledge and attitudes about self-rescue preparedness during an earthquake by LIPI/UNESCO/ISDR in 2006. The results showed that almost all School-age children understood self-rescue preparedness during an earthquake (84.4%), and most of them had positive behavior (75%). The recommended that the member of RW 02 Kelurahan Pasia Nan Tigo could collaborate with BPBD Padang City to hold regular self-rescue drills or simulations during earthquakes.

Abstract

The incidence of tuberculosis according to the WHO Global Tuberculosis report 2016, tuberculosis occupies the second position with the highest TB burden in the world. Pulmonary TB is an inflammatory disease of the lung parenchyma caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pulmonary TB can cause respiratory system disorders. Breathing is a condition in which air containing O2 enters the body and removes CO2 from the body as a residue of oxidation. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the orthopnea position on the reduction of shortness of breath in pulmonary TB patients in RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. Research design. Quasi-experimental with a two-group pretest-posttest design approach. To determine the effectiveness before and after the orthopnea position to decrease shortness of breath in pulmonary TB patients. The sample was 50 respondents, 25 for the intervention group, and 25 for the control group, using the purposive sampling technique. The study found that the mean value in the intervention group was 26,64 decreased to 21,36 and the control group was 24,80 to 24,88. Dependent test results in the intervention group obtained a value of p = 0.000 or p < 0.05 and the control group obtained a value of p = 0.161 or p> 0.05 so the intervention group had an effect and the control group had no effect. Suggestions are the effectiveness of respiratory frequency in pulmonary TB patients while the control group only measures the respiratory frequency, there is no effectiveness in pulmonary TB patients.

Abstract

Breast milk is a nutritional choice with the best quality and quantity for newborns. Lack of milk intake in infants can cause malnutrition. Most of the infant mortality in the world is caused by malnutrition. Postpartum mothers in Indonesia experience many problems with milk production. Several factors affect breast milk production; one of the most important is the food consumed by postpartum mothers. Indonesia is a tropical country, so there are many types of plants or fruits that can help increase milk production and levels of the hormone prolactin. Plants that increase milk production include soybeans. The research design used in this study was quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample for this study was all postpartum mothers who met the inclusion criteria, which included as many as 15 people. Purposive sampling was used in this study. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that most respondents were in the working area of PMB Diana Tamdem Hilir Pasar and experienced an increase in milk production after being given soy milk, with fairly smooth milk production of 14 people (93%). The results of the different tests with a p-value = 0.001 indicate that there is a difference in milk production before and after giving soy milk extract. In conclusion, consuming soybean milk is very effective as an alternative for postpartum mothers who have a large amount of milk production and can increase the exclusive breastfeeding program

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are open sores on the skin layer to the dermis, which usually occur on the soles of the feet. Wounds that arise in DM patients due to complications of microangiopathy and macroangiopathy. Peripheral neuropathy will cause loss of sensation in the distal area of the foot. The length of time a person suffers from DM will cause microangiopathic complications so diabetic neuropathy will cause ulcers on the feet. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support in the healing process of diabetic ulcers with patient compliance in undergoing treatment at the Asri Wound Care Center clinic in Medan using a descriptive correlation research design with a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study was 36 respondents using an accidental sampling technique. The results of the Spearman rank test (rho) with a p-value = 0.004 with a coefficient value of 0.467 then p-value <a (0.000 <0.05), meaning that there is a relationship between family support in the healing process of diabetic ulcers with patient compliance in undergoing treatment at the Asri Wound clinic. Care Center Medan. Abstract

The IUD is a modern contraceptive designed in such a way as to its size, material, and active period. Then placed in the uterine cavity as a contraceptive effort to prevent fertilization and stop the egg from implanting in the uterus. This study aimed to determine the distribution of frequencies, relationships, and factors that were more dominant, namely age, education, knowledge, attitudes, and husband's support for IUD contraception. The type of this research was an analytic survey with a cross-sectional approach; the population in this study was 171, namely all mothers who did not use IUD contraception in the Rantauprapat City Health Center. working area Data analysis used univariate, bivariate with a chi-square test, and multivariate with a logistic regression test. The results of the study using the chi-square test were seen from the results of age (p-value) = 0.001, <0.05. Knowledge (p-value) = 0.000 <0.05 and attitude (p-value) = 0.003 <0.05. Then there is the influence of age, knowledge, and attitudes with the low use of IUD contraception and the most influential attitude factor seen from the results of multivariate analysis with a regression test value of <0.25. The conclusion of this study is that there is an influence of age, knowledge, and attitudes toward the use of IUD contraception in the working area of the rantauprapat city health center. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, will be more active in promoting types of contraception, especially regarding IUD contraception.
