Abstract

Roland Barthes is widely known as a semiotic figure who succeeded in renewing the thoughts of his predecessor Ferdinand de Saussure by introducing the concept of myth. Myth is a second level of signification system, which is built from reading the first level sign. Barthes considers that the reading of signs does not stop at the level of denotative meaning, but also needs to be directed to probe the connotative meaning that is hidden or which is often unconscious behind the object. Reading the signs to the level of myth is also an attempt to dismantle the existence of ideology. Ideology in the context of reading signs is interpreted as a forced meaning to be accepted as something natural. In the end, reading the signs in Roland Barthes's approach challenges us to apply them to reading contemporary objects such as advertising, photography, film and others. Sign readers are challenged to combine interpretive models on two levels, namely reading denotative meanings in reading language levels and connotative meanings in reading mythical levels. Abstract

Aceh is a region rich in tradition. One of the traditions that continues to be practiced is the meandering tradition. But in practice this tradition has undergone innovation. The ancient traditions were carried out by bringing a meaningful message that has a high meaning and now this tradition is carried out by bringing a "betel tree" print invitation. This happened to Cot Lagan community of Woyla Subdistrict of Aceh Barat District, so there was a cultural shift in the mega-uroh tradition. The purpose of this study is to know the cause of the cultural shift. This research uses qualitative method with data collection technique through interview and documentation. The results of the study show that the shift in cultural use of batee ranup in the tradition of meu-uroh is caused by the lack of understanding and love of the people about the culture so it is very easy to accept the new culture that enters and develops among them. This shift in culture is also due to the rapid development of technology that has brought many changes in the life of the community, including in terms of culture. The development of this technology brings betel arts to the middle of the community as an invitation and gradually replaces the batee ranup position in the meu-uroh tradition. In addition, the use of betel arts invitations is also considered as cheaper and more practical in comparison to using the batee ranup. Keywords: Innovasion, Cultural, Batee Ranup, Meu-uroh.

Abstract

When the transitional political climate is now sweeping Indonesia, the media is often an instant reference for public attitudes to certain social phenomena due to the crisis of their direct communication with public officials. The media can also be subjects who manipulate political statements or events because of the pressure of the economic and political interests of their owners or managers. In a transitional political climate, there is media feudalistic behavior in the form of giving more expression space to public figures (extra ordinary people), opinion leaders rather than ordinary people in society. Political leaders are placed as active subjects as producers of information and issues that can always be correlated on a macro and constituent basis as objects that accept the top-down flow of information. Abstract

Decentralization has become one of the important phenomena that must be mentioned in the era of the last 10 years, where the great power of the central government in the past (precisely in the New Order era) has now been replaced with the introduction of regional autonomy, although this work is still being carried out, revised here and there , while we also see the phenomenon of more regional leaders (mayors, regents, or governors) who are suspected of corruption cases in various regions. Inevitably corruption becomes something decentralized too. In this situation, where is the position of the local press? Did he participate in guarding the existing democratization process, or did he also become part of the existing problem? Exactly whether we are talking about the role of the local press as a solution to the problem of corruption, or whether the local press is actually part of the problem of corruption. Abstract

Indonesia is a country where all religious leaders reject LGBT behavior. Due to the uncertainty about the fate of their existence, LGBT people are increasingly aggressively advocating for legal protection and LGBT legalization in Indonesia. Internet campaigns are mostly chosen by LGBT people as a media campaign for them. This can be seen from the rise of social media used by the Indonesian people, especially Facebook and Whatsapp. Based on the phenomenom described above, the researcher is trying to figure out how the campaigns are being conducted by LGBT people on Facebook and Whatsapp. This study used a library research method where the results showed that Facebook and Whatsapp were indeed social media followers of the LGBT campaign. Facebook and Whatsapp have their own LGBT group. The Facebook and Whatsapp chat pages also include emo, stickers and gifs with LGBT symbols such as rainbow colors, pride, gay words and other words and illustrations that lead to LGBT. Abstract

The article is a study in the background with observations of good citizen journalism, by preaching information that can provide positive value for the development of publications. Not a stove that always heats the situation and situation. "Citizen journalism" is arguably the most recent finding in the current journalistic domain. A term where people intervene to share information is like a reporter. Various sources view differently about who actually started this trend. There are sources who say citizen journalism was pioneered by the tsunami of 26 December 2004 in Aceh. At that time, Acehnese people through a personal documentation video recorded water scenes that devastated Aceh and its surroundings. These videos play an important role in the supply of news for mainstream / mainstream media. There is another source who mentions that one of the private television sets opened video shipments of citizens who reported the incident in their respective homes through their own citizen journalism platform. Whatever claims to who initiates "Citizen Journalism", mainstream media seems to be seriously working on this fairly new market share. All may be one view that the future of the journalistic world is in "Citizen Journalism". A distinctive feature of citizen journalism lies in the framing of the news. Framing is a term in the world of journalism about how a media frame / construct / process the reality that occurs in society into a story, which is certainly in line with the tendency of the media concerned. In the case of citizen journalism which positions itself as a freestanding reporter, it is not bound by any media institution. From there, a personal framing is formed, which is nothing but the framing of the citizen itself which incidentally tends to construct reality in the field without any inclination. That is to say, something that is not reduced or exaggerated for certain purposes. The earthquake in Meulaboh was reported not only to have caused a tsunami in the western region of Aceh, but also struck the island of Sabang. At that time, the Satlak for Disaster Management and Refugee (PBP) Region III of West Aceh, until March 13, 2005 reported that the death toll reached 12,873 people, 2,403 people missing and 73,915 people displaced.
