<![CDATA[The focus of this studied lies in understanding the meaning behind the 'start up' Korean drama scene. The purpose of this study was to learned about the popular Korean culture. Available representations may help an interpretation of the performer starting the Korean drama. The approach used was a qualitative approach with a semiotic studied from peirce. There were 3 points of interest in peirce semiotics. Which were icon, index and symbol. The icon portrayed in drakor startup, the shooting site was at the sandbox and the hangang river. Both were known as an iconic sites in South Korea. Then the index seen in the startup film is when seo dal mi was having a religious service as she goes to her car test. Finally, the signed of drakor startup is the festival of chuseok. Further research is recommended for closer analysis so as to provide an even better representation of peirce semiotics analysis.]]>

<![CDATA[At present, there is much news of hate speech against ulama circulating in the mass media. Hate speech can have a negative impact on human relationships and between the religious communities developed to date. The purpose of this research is to discuss how the public opinion of Meulaboh presents to the mass media messages containing hate speech directed against ulama. This research used a qualitative approach by collecting data through interviews with 4 people from Meulaboh City and 2 lecturers of KPI STAIN Meulaboh. The results of this study show that having a huge impact on the news in the media for the community, especially the presence of gadgets, allows people to easily access a lot of the latest news. People who still hold strong religious values think the news is inappropriate. The news presented by the media is expected to be neutral and impartial, which can harm other parties.]]>

<![CDATA[The transmission of Covid-19 in Indonesia has made the government stipulate that all activities must be carried out from home, including studying. During learning from home the children are accompanied by their parents. The togetherness of parents and children while learning from home makes their relationship even closer. Apart from that, there are things that are contradictory in their relationship. Their disagreement with something when studying creates dialectics. By using qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach, the purpose of this study is to analyze the relational dialectic that occurs between parents and children from families in Kampung Tengah Kramat Jati Jakarta Timur during the learning process in the Covid-19 era. The theory used in this research is relational dialectic and family relationship theory. The informants are mothers who have school-age children at primary school level 2-3 who are busy taking care of the house while accompanying their children to study. The results of the study are dialectics due to the inequality of mothers and children in responsibilities, expectations and perceptions. The reality of their relationship is in the form of contradictions because mothers tend to be emotional, and children are disorderly and tend to be spoiled.]]>

<![CDATA[The aims of this study is to examine how the pros and cons of Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press as a lex specialis from a legal point of view. This research is a descriptive qualitative study with a literature review approach, which focuses on discussing the substance of the law and the issues under study in accordance with the relevant literature. The results of the study illustrate that there are pros and cons related to the position of the Law. No.40 of 1999 concerning the press as lex specialis. The pro side illustrates that press activities and various disputes that arise in it when referring to the press law that has been specially formulated is used to solve press problems specifically, so that it is considered a lex specialis. On the other hand, it emphasizes that the press law from various sides does not meet the requirements as a lex specialis because there is no clear legal basis for reference from any parent law.]]>

<![CDATA[Most of the people who access the internet are millennial generation, that is, the generation born between 1982 and 2000. Digitalization forces the mass media in Indonesia to participate in meeting the demands of society's need for up to date information. This study aims to examine the practices of the millennial generation in consuming online news. In particular, this study aims to reveal the diversity of meanings that arise from the experiences of audiences when consuming online news. This study applies a qualitative approach to the reception method. The comment column provides a reference space for itself to continue consuming the next news activity on the mass media or not. Comments can even be termed as a filter for news that millennial generation will consume. Storytelling as millennial generation's online news consuming experience. From the point of view of millennials storytelling helps facilitate their imagination through visual means.]]>

<![CDATA[This qualitative descriptive research studied the public narratives regarding the caning execution news on Serambinews.com's Facebook fan page. Apart from that, this research also investigated the relationship between Facebook users' discussion against public policy (Sharia law) and the existence of Serambinews.com as the news media. This research used the five most commented news links from January 2018 to December 2020 as the data. This data was analyzed using Thematic Analysis and studied using the concept of Public Opinion. The results showed that the public often discussed four dominant themes, including two topics that exhibited negative nuances, such as proposing extreme punishment and defamation against the convicts. These themes were a reflection of the growing public opinion regarding the caning in Aceh. Negative public opinion had the potential to form a consensus and affected public policy regarding Sharia law. But on the other hand, despite the domination of negative public opinion, the researcher argued that Serambinews.com gained economic benefits from this practice.]]>

<![CDATA[Industri perhotelan kini mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan. Salah satu hotel yang berdiri tahun 2017, berkonsep “eco friendly hotel” adalah Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang. Peneliti menganalisa “Peran Public Relations dalam Membentuk Citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang melalui Kampanye “We Act”” menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan wawancara. Data dilengkapi dengan data sekunder dari penelitian sebelumnya, arsip, serta berita terkait dengan topik penelitian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peran public relations dalam membentuk citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang di mata para tamu melalui Kampanye Public Relations “We Act”. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan teori peran public relations oleh Ruslan, dengan menghasilkan peran sebagai communicator, membina relationship, sebagai backup management, sebagai corporate image. Hambatan yang ditemukan peran public relations yaitu kurangnya intensitas terhadap publik internal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa public relations memiliki peran penting dan sudah menjalani perannya sesuai dengan teori yang digunakan untuk membentuk citra Hotel Ra Premiere Simatupang.]]>

<![CDATA[Journalists are members of the press who play an important role in the delivery of information to the public. The important role of journalists will of course be greatly influenced by their idealistic attitudes to maintain a mindset that they think is right about the media work they do. The purpose of this study was to determine the concept of journalist idealism in the context of mass media independence. This study uses a qualitative method with a methodological approach and study approach. The informants in this study were journalists and informants related to the mass media. The results showed that technological developments and changing political conditions had a new influence on the social life of journalists themselves, especially in promoting a strong attitude of professionalism. The determination of principles by prioritizing journalistic ethics and unchanging idealism presents challenges for journalists. The mass media that moves by prioritizing the market mechanism or media capitalism will give a negative stigma to the journey of the mass media. Therefore, the mass media and journalists must be able to control themselves and the institutions so that they can run a press institution without any element of interest from certain parties.]]>
