Abstract

This study is about the study of the implementation process and calculation of TKDN (Domestic Component Level). Industrial work in Indonesia are expected to use the main ingredients sourced from Indonesian local products. So that the service provider / goods must have Domestic Component Level (TKDN)> 25% (more or equal to 25%), price preference in TKDN can only be given to goods with TKDN content> 25%. This study was conducted with a study literature from indonesian regulation. So from the results of the study obtained the implementation phase and calculation formula TKDN that can be used to determine the percentage of the level of use of local products used.

Abstract

Work Accidents are being critical nowadays, as the number of industry increases and following by the number of work accidents also increases. This company has been struggling in hard year as number of severity rate reached the highest since the last six years. Any programs and campaign to control the hazard is being done, but still the number of severity rate is increasing at the end of 2014. According to Domino Theory (Heinrich, 1980), the root cause lies on bad management, then this research come to solve the issue by measuring the effectiveness of management through leadership managerial roles in assessing the managerial skills, trying to solve the problems from management perspective. This research conducts for managerial level at section head level up in 15 jobsites around Indonesia. The assessment for management adopts 360 degrees method as appraisal performance. This method engages four perspectives; their-selves, superior, peer and subordinate. After conduct the questionnaire, the leadership managerial roles toward the managerial skills performance is mapped using path analysis. According to ideal model from 360 degrees perspectives, the leadership managerial roles highly correlated towards managerial skill performance as much as 0,8297 or 83%, where human skills and conceptual skills are directly affect leadership, meanwhile technical skills indirectly influence leadership through human skills. The ideal model of leadership managerial roles required the managerial skills performances according to the coefficient path shows, LD=0,57HS+0,14CS+0,04ε1

Abstract

In tire manufacturing process, amount of defects that occur in the tire company has a tendency to increase and above the target limits. In order to improve the quality of tire manufacture, an analysis to decrease the number of defects is conducted by using the Six Sigma concept. The repair process is done to reduce the defect types Under Cure. This is a defect with the highest number from the seven types of defects. The design DOE (Design of Experiment) is used to determine the optimum setting tires in the cooking process. Defect Under Cure is a type of defect that occurs due to imperfection of tire cooking process (curing) and cause the tire become immature. By doing improvements on the process based on optimum setting, the sigma value of the company is increased by 4.209 sigma which previously amounted to 3.902 sigma.

Abstract

Discussions and debates about world class university (WCU) continue to increase. Various policies to realize the WCU have been formulated by universities, as well as by governments. To date, however, there has been no consensus about the substance of WCU. This research aims to answer some fundamental questions about WCU, i.e. definition, characteristics, and criteria. The findings revealed that there are some similarities in the understanding of the substance of the WCU. Universities must improve its quality, by continuing to recognize customers’ needs and expectations. Improvement in all things, both in terms of academic and non academic at the university should be pursued persistently.

Abstract

President University, located in Cikarang, has 14 study programs. The institution concerns to do continuous improvement through the Self Evaluation. This research was done from September 2015 to January 2016 and the aim of this resesarch is to conduct the Industrial Engineering study program performance measurement using Malcolm Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBECfPE) 2013-2014. Based on the result,  leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, knowledge measurement, analysis and management, worker focus, operasional focus, and result criteria get the percentage of  65.29%, 76.42%, 74.43%, 69.49%, 70.92%, 67.58%, and 67.28% respectively.  The lowest result of sub criteria occurs on senior leadership with 59.93%. Meanwihle, strategy implementation sub criteria achieve the highest percentage of 77.15%. Total criteria measurement is 689.61 of 1000, which means the position of this study program in Industry Leader level

Abstract

ABSTRAKMasyarakat itu dinamis. Begitu pula kegiatan ekonominya. Untuk sementara waktu kegiatan ekonomi masyarakat Indonesia umumnya berciri agraris. Namun suatu dinamika sedang berlangsung menuju masyarakat industrial.

Abstract

The village of Karanganyar, at the regency of Indramayu, is the largest centre for walking catfish aquaculture industry in West Java. However, during 2015-2016, the growth of the catfish aquaculture has not been satisfactory, mostly due to several obstacles that reduces the production rate by 25%. Therefore it is necessary to map out an empowerment strategy for the aquaculture industry of catfish in the village of Karanganyar. The process of designing the strategy uses Internal-External Matrix (IE), analysis on Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT), and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Early step involves gathering internal (strength and weakness) and external factors (opportunities and threats) for the aquaculture industry of catfish. These factors points to the factor that affects the development of the industry. Second step involves determining the empowerment strategy for the aquaculture industry of catfish in accordance to internal and external conditions using IE Matrix and SWOT analysis. Third step requires establishing a scale of priority for the prioritised strategy, which includes 1) forming a union of catfish farmer, 2) consolidate and reinforce partnership with institutions of higher education, supporting organisations, and other supporting institutions, and 3) developing capabilities of processing catfishes to satisfy demands from local and international markets. First strategy is expected to overcome the dependency on third parties for fishmeal, markets, and capitals, along with the difficulties for accessing financial institutions. Second strategy is expected to help with the development of the product, the improvement on the standardisation of aquaculture and post-harvesting activities of catfishes, and the step-up on levels of independency for farmers in terms of capital and funding. Third strategy is expected to grab the market niche and opportunity for catfish-based products in national and international scale by exploiting the ease of access to the market, the availability of training and supporting program for catfish aquaculture industries, and good ratings from customers in regard to the quality of catfishes produced by the industry.
