Abstract

The sacrament of holy baptism is one of the sacraments recognized and accepted in the church. Holy baptism is carried out using water as an element that symbolizes the cleansing or washing of human sins. The Westminster Confession explains that holy baptism is a seal and a sign of the cleansing of believers. Holy baptism can be performed by believing adults as well as children with the beliefs of their parents. Valid holy baptism is in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In fact, there are some churches that have always considered holy baptism as an instrument of salvation and truly the water of baptism cleanses the sins of mankind. In addition, some churches also reject the baptism of children and baptism is believed to be done repeatedly for personal and church reasons. The truth held as the cleansing of sins is only the blood of Christ shed on the cross, baptism is only a stamp and a sign. The purpose of writing this paper is to explain theologically holy baptism in Wesminster's creed. The method of writing this paper is a literature review.

Abstract

Learning is an activity that involves interaction between teachers and students as achieving a learning goal. In the learning process, the teacher is required to carry out his role with full responsibility. If there is behavior in a class that does not support the learning process, the teacher must be able to take action correctly. Class management is needed by the teacher to create effective learning, and prevent problems in the classroom. Disruptive behavior that students do in the learning process must get treatment from the teacher because it will have an impact on other students. However, in addressing this problem the teacher must continue to see that students are the image of God, even if their behavior is not by God's truth. The teacher's role is to bring students to changes in behavior, as well as making students aware of their misbehavior. Therefore, this literature study aims to find out how the teacher's role in handling disruptive behavior of students in the learning process in class. The problem-solving approach used in the literature study method. Abstract

Acts of the Apostles is unique in the Bible. It serves as the transition between the Gospel and the Epistles. For Christians, Acts of the Apostles is a historical book that presents the fact of how Christianity is then widespread. Within the historical issues in the studies of Acts, one creative approach is to classify Acts as a Greco-Roman novel that is highly fictional, a popular treatise for entertainment purposes. The aim of this paper is to examine the historicity of the Acts. The issues of the historicity of the text, the reliability of sources used by Luke, chronology, and data accuracy will be examined. Here, I will argue that Luke’s theological-historical perspective to explain the passage is still better than the novel perspective. I will also demonstrate that the theological principles derived from the novel perspective are strongly disputed compared to those of the theological-historical perspective. Only several theological principles of the text from both historical novel and theological-historical perspective will be presented.

Abstract

The Triune God is a God related in love so that students as an image of God are also enabled to relate in class communities. The class as a learning community uses every potential to achieve shared cognitive learning goals. In fact, when studying thermochemical class XI at XYZ Jakarta High School, it was found that students had not used their academic abilities to achieve shared learning goals. Based on their academic abilities students provide different cognitive responses and learning outcomes. Students with high academic ability do not do the practice questions because they feel they understand, and the learning outcomes are good. Low academic ability students give up learning thermochemistry because they find it difficult and their learning outcomes are low. Based on that, this paper will examine efforts to improve student cognitive learning outcomes in thermochemical lessons using the STAD cooperative learning model. Papers are written using literature study data collection techniques. The results showed that STAD can be used to improve student cognitive learning outcomes on thermochemical topics. STAD cooperative learning provides group learning that encourages students to check understanding and exchange information about thermochemistry.

Abstract

The main questions on this essay is how to integrate Christian faith in social constructivism or how do we relate both and on the practical aspect, could Christian schools use constructivism? This paper approaches the problem by analyse the presuppositions of social constructivism to find out what are the main beliefs behind the view. Afterwards, the presuppositions of this theory are reviewed in the light of Biblical Christian doctrines because as believers should see through the Biblical worldview of the sound teaching. In conclusion, social constructivism can be used in Christian schools but with some cautionary notes. Students need to be educated that there is absolute truth, God is real, and the meaning of human life is not determined by the social community but is determined by God
