Abstract

This article aims to explore and describe the faithful life of God's people during the Covid-19 pandemic that has occurred until now. The pandemic has created new problems and sufferings in human (faith) life, which not only shakes the physical life but also the life of faith. The anxiety that existed was then explored through the formulation of the problem: how is the process of faith being lived by mankind amid the current Covid-19 pandemic? To find answers to the existing problems, the author will collect various data through literature studies and analyze qualitatively by studying books on faith (especially in the teachings of the Catholic faith), journal articles, and other sources related to the author's theme. Based on the formulation of the existing problems, the authors found that having faith in the Covid-19 pandemic means surrendering (surrender) to God because being skeptical in faith is nothing but a sign that faith only stops in the mouth and without reflection of faith so that it does not grow again and bear fruit in life when faced with the difficulties, challenges, and sufferings of life. Everyone who believes in God is required to deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Him in all the impossibilities that occur. God will never leave let alone stop loving humans because before birth He has written our names on the palms of His hands.

Abstract

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old and in that period of time the Church has undergone many changes. Major changes occurred after the Second Vatican Council was convened which spoke of various aspects of the life of the Church. The Second Vatican Council itself was closed in 1962 which means more than 50 years ago. Talking about change in the Church means that we cannot be separated from the agents of change themselves, which in this case are the clergy, both from a particular diocese and from an institute. In this article, we will discuss how the clergy who in the article narrowed down within the scope of the Congregation of Missions responded to the Second Vatican Council in their lives or in their works? Did the results of the Second Vatican Council have any effect on the Congregation of Missions? To answer these questions, the author will first conduct an in-depth study of the texts produced by the Second Vatican Council and try to see how they relate to the works of the priests of the Congregation for Missions. After conducting studies and various researches related to the themes discussed, the authors found that all the works carried out by the Congregation of Missions were not works that just appeared, but works that try to answer the problems that exist around the Church in the light of the Second Vatican Council.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the incarnation spirituality of Saint Louis Marie de Montfort and its relevance in today's hedonic culture. The background of this paper is the increasingly rapid development of technology and economics which has spawned the seeds of egoism and killed the spirit to live caring for each other and the attitude of solidarity in living together. The method used in this paper is the historical-factual-critical analysis method. Meaning, the author will explore Montfort's writings that talk about the Incarnation, then analyze them based on their historical context and confront them with contemporary theological reflections. Subsequently, logical conclusions will be drawn to answer the questions raised. Based on the analysis obtained, Montfort’s Incarnation spirituality is still relevant for the Church today. The fact that the Incarnation spirituality he elaborated finds its origine in God who showed solidarity towards humans, by itself invites the Church and all humanity to cultivate a spirit of solidarity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the form of solidarity of business actors in the era of the covid-19 pandemic and the factors that influence solidarity. Data were collected through documentation and interview techniques. Problems which are related to appreciation and solidarity were analyzed theoretically from the perspective of business theology by using a qualitative research method approach. The results of the study inform that the solidarity of business people was reduced during the covid-19 pandemic. People were more concerned with personal safety and business continuity than the safety of others. The improvement of the welfare of the stakeholders was maintained and prioritized over the welfare of the employees. Sense of social responsibility was decreased. Employees were not considered a valuable asset that must be cared for and saved. The sense of family and togetherness was reduced. Egoism and greed were capital for business people to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the sense of sacrifice, love, responsibility, and a sense of kinship which are the basic principles of social solidarity need to be revived and lived by business people to achieve social welfare as exemplified by Jesus by loving humans. Jesus has willing to sacrifice himself on the cross for the salvation of mankind.

Abstract

The focus of this study is land and forest fires in Sanggau, West Borneo from the perspective of the Encyclical Laudato Si articles 216-218. The problem that the author wants to study is human awareness in caring for, protecting and preserving the environment, as is the fact that there are humans who do not heed this. The purpose of this study is to build human awareness of the importance of preserving the environment through repentance, which is aware that environmental destruction can cause adverse effects on every living creature. The methodology used to explore this theme is a qualitative method by conducting a literature study on the concept of ecological conversion according to the Encyclical Laudato Si and other supporting book sources. This study leads the author to the finding that ignorance and careless and human being to preserve the environment is contrary to the Church's view in the Encyclical Laudato Si. Humans have a shared obligation to protect and preserve the environment. In addition, as intelligent beings, humans must have an attitude of ecological repentance, starting with an awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment created by God which is a place for living things to live, grow and develop. Thus humans will be able to arrive at concrete actions, namely environmental conservation, in order to create a sense of care and awareness about the fact that they live and live with their environment.

Abstract

The focus of the discussion in this paper lies in the relevance of priesthood spirituality initiated by St. Montfort about the priest of today. Montfort in his prayer wanted a priest who was by the desires of God's heart. A priest who is not controlled by self-love, but who is always focused on God. The priest who has no worldly or special personal relationships because the priest is called to serve all people is not attached to a property, without problems and problems and even without a personal will. This is important to study because the reality shows that the life of the priest today tends to be inconsistent with his identity as in persona Christi. Many priests and even bishops fall into cases of sexual abuse and misuse of money. The goal is clear that today's priests are aware of their essence and identity as Christ who is present amid the world. Priests are called to present Christ. Thus their lives must be like Christ, living and applying these values in their lives and ministries. The method used in this paper is qualitative research by conducting a literature study.

Abstract

Focus of this article is elaborating the meaning of the words of Jesus which we find in the gospel of John 14: 6 “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. The purpose is showing that a proper understanding regarding the meaning of the words of Jesus provides a way to know who Jesus is and to take a proper attitude towards it. Knowing him and accepting him continuously is the way to be mature in faith. In order to do that first, I elaborate a simple notion about what is prayer and what is not prayer, a relation with God. Second, I show that a human being essentially free to give and receive form of his or her life. Third, I point out the meaning of John 14: 6 “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. I end this article with a conclusion. The method that I used in doing this article is mystagogy.

School pastoral is an activity that aims to develop, improve and foster the faithful life of Catholics in the school environment. So through the school pastoral, it is hoped that the Christian community in the school environment will really be realized. Christian community is a fellowship whose members believe in Jesus Christ and are able to realize the teachings of Jesus Christ in their lives. Writing this scientific article aims to answer several main questions related to the relationship between pastoral schools, Christian communities and Catholic schools, these questions include: What is the essence of school pastoralism in building Christian communities in Catholic schools? Is the pastoral essence of the school in line with the idea of administering a Catholic school in accordance with the vision and mission of the Church? How is the division of tasks and responsibilities so that the pastoral school can run well? Based on the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that school pastoral is an essential program that is really effective in efforts to build a Christian community in Catholic schools. In addition, looking at the pastoral goals of schools and the goals of Catholic schools, it can also be concluded that the pastoral essence of schools is also in line with the idea of organizing Catholic schools in accordance with the vision and mission of the Church. In realizing a good and effective school pastoral, there needs to be cooperation between the school, parents of students and the Church. This concerns promotive tasks, facilitative tasks, and executive tasks.
