Abstract

MCTS learning model (Making Critical Thinking Students) is a learning model that refers to self regulated learning and uses ICT as a learning media. The purposes of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the MCTS model to improving the critical thinking skills and disposition of students.  This research was carried out to physics education students of Palangka Raya University who was attended the research methodology lecture.  The effectiveness of the MCTS learning model is based on (1) the results of critical thinking skills and disposition of students and (2) students respons to the model. The results of the study show that critical thinking skills of physics education students at Palangka Raya University have increased significantly, with α = 5%,  N-gain average critical thinking skills are consistently at very high criteria. Critical thinking disposition of learning a significant increase in positive criteria. Physics education students at Palangka Raya University averaged 95.33% giving a positive respons to  MCTS learning model and its devices.  Conclusion based on the results of the study of the effectiveness of the MCTS learning model is effective applied in learning to improve the critical thinking skills and disposition of physics education students of Palangka Raya University as a candidate physics teachers.

Abstract

Abstract. The research aims to get answers to whether chemistry learning with computer-based games as learning media can create fun learning (edutainment). The study was conducted on students in three high schools in chemistry learning according to plan, during the learning activities were observed by students, before and after learning the learning outcomes tests and student questionnaires were conducted. The results showed that learning activities were 90.4% to 92.0% as expected, 90% to 100% of students stated that learning was fun with games as learning media, and learning outcomes had achieved 93% to 100% classical completeness. These results indicate that the use of computer-propelled games as chemical learning media can create chemical learning that pleases students and can be used by teachers as an alternative to edutainment chemistry learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe the feasibility of interactive multimedia and the developed kits, the activities of students, the understanding of students' concepts, and students' responses. Interactive multimedia and kits were developed with Writing to Learn strategies. Feasibility criteria consist of content, presentation, language, and graphics. This type of research was developed with the Research and Development (R & D) method. The research subjects are interactive multimedia and developed kits. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets, student activity observation sheets, concept understanding test sheets, and student response questionnaire sheets. Data sources were obtained from chemistry lecturers, Special Education lecturers, Special School teachers, and five students from Blitar State Special Junior High School. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that interactive multimedia and kits are very feasible to be used as learning media with a percentage of eligibility ≥ 61%. Percentage of students student activities were in range 66,66% - 100% for each activities. Students score and Students concept understanding were increased after trial. The results of student responses indicate that interactive multimedia and kits get a positive response because they get a percentage of  â‰¥ 61% for each aspects.

Abstract

Blended learning is basically a combination or mixture found in learning practice. Blended learning is a further development of the e-learning method, namely learning methods that combine e-learning systems with conventional or face-to-face methods. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of the models and learning devices both in terms of content and model constructs, as well as to find out student responses to the model developed. The model developed was validated through a forum mechanism, namely, focus group discussion (FGD) which was followed by researchers and experts. The suggestions and improvements generated from the validation activities were then followed up to revise the Inquiry Collaborative Tutorial-based blended learning model. Inquiry Collaborative Tutorial-based blended learning model and learning devices developed in this study have met valid criteria in content and construct. Valid content because there are elements of need and novelty, as well as valid constructs because there is consistency between parts of the model and there is relevance between the models developed with learning theories that underlie it. In general, the average student responds positively to the blended learning model based on the Inquiry Collaborative Tutorial. The model applied is considered to provide opportunities for students to actively participate.

Abstract

Scientific argumentation is an important skill in learning science that is integrated with science learning. The scientific argumentation in the science learning process is the basis for students to think, act and connect knowledge through argumentation to build their knowledge. This study aims to produce a Lesson Plan (LP) on the concept of harmonic motion, sound waves and light with the ADI learning model assisted by Lectora Inspire software that is valid and effective in improving the scientific argumentation skills of high school students. The type of research in this study is Research and Development which adapted the stages developed by Borg & Gall (1989), which are product-oriented in the education field with the research design one-group pretest-posttest design. The trial phase was carried out in Kendari 6 State Senior High School, Kendari 5 State Senior High School and Kendari 9 State Senior High School with 79 research subjects. The results showed that: Lesson Plan with the ADI learning model assisted by the developed Lectora Inspire software had validity with the average Aiken Index V = 0.89 with very high criteria and effectiveness with the Aiken Index V  = 0.77 with high criteria for improving skills scientific argumentation of students.
