Abstract

The purpose of the study to describe the ability to communicate on the socialization of homeless children also describes the shape and manner of communication on homeless children and the impact of communication capability on homeless children in communities the research method used is qualitative method with the data-collection technique of library studies. Research data of literature produced by articles and journals related to the title of the study. The approach used is a qualitative approach with the data-collection of data techniques. The data analysis technique on this study is a qualitative technique using miles and huberman model analysis beginning with data gathering, data reduction, data presentation, and finally a deduction. According to the study, homeless children generally have delays in interaction or socialization. This is because children lack the ability to communicate that triggers depression. So children are less able to interact with their surroundings, causing a lack of confidence. A confident child will be able to blend into his environment, even though he has limitations in his body. If he has good self-confidence will surely get a place and be accepted in the communities around him. Keywords: speech impaired, communications, socialization.

Abstract

Politicians, especially those who are running for president, are very influential for their supporters. How to speak is often a role model for his followers. In fact, his orders and prohibitions were strongly held by his sympathizers. In addressing the differences in quick count results between several survey institutions and the results of internal surveys triggering a declaration of victory by each presidential candidate. Submission of directive instructions to their supporters is very important, especially in terms of face-threatening acts. This research used qualitative approach. The data used in this study are four video declarations of victory (two video declarations of victory by presidential election candidate number 01 and two video victory declarations by presidential election candidate number 02). This study resulted in two strategies of directive speech action applied by pair serial number 01, namely clearly speaking plus positive politeness and speaking vaguely. The strategies applied by the 02 presidential candidate are twofold, namely to speak frankly and speak clearly plus positive politeness. In terms of quantity, the directive of presidential candidate number 01 numbered six utterances, while the candidate number 02 numbered 13 speeches (acts)

Abstract

Recently in the era of globalization, mastery of foreign languages is immensely needed. In addition to English, a foreign language that has been recognized as an international language is Chinese. Since 2014 Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) has the Chinese Language Education Study Program (PSPBM UNJ) and in 2015 PSPBM UNJ began to involve native Chinese speaker teachers to teach Chinese speaking skills. Native speaker teachers are one of the influential factors in foreign language teaching and to determine the student's perception of them, especially in teaching Chinese speaking skills was the purpose of this study. This research was descriptive research with a survey method. The results showed that the perception of PSPBM UNJ students towards native Chinese-speaking teachers was generally positive. Students generally assumed that the teachers met the indicators contained in the pedagogical aspects, linguistic aspects, and socio-cultural aspects. Positive perceptions of native Chinese teachers had a good influence on the Mandarin language learning process at PSPBM UNJ.  Keywords: perception, native Chinese speaker, Chinese speaking skills, language learning

Abstract

This study analysis spelling mistakes of letters and punctuation contained in "reading" teaching materials for PBSI students at Wiralodra University. The data taken in this study is the text of the book READING (Skilled in Language Through Reading) edition 2021. In this study, (1) knowing the wrong type of letters and punctuation in the book READING (Skilled in Language Through Reading); and (2) analyzing spelling errors in the use of letters and punctuation in the READING book (Skilled in Language Through Reading). This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The source of data in this study is the text in the READING book (Skilled in Language Through Reading). The method of data collection in this study is to use observation techniques and note-taking techniques. The results of this study indicate that there are 140 errors in the book entitled READING (Skilled Language Through Reading) which are divided into: 26 errors in punctuation (:), seven errors in punctuation (-), one error in sign (-), 20 errors in spelling italics, and 86 errors in spelling capital letters. Abstract

This research on the use of language style in the novel Laut Bercerita (Sea Telling Stories) by Leila S. Chudori is a descriptive study. This study aims to describe the types of figurative language and the functions of the language styles contained in the novel Laut Bercerita. The data source of this research was the use of figurative language styles in the novel Laut Bercerita, in more detail on the aspects of the type of language style and the function of language style. The data were collected by reading the whole story carefully, thoroughly, and repeatedly and recording the language style and language function. The obtained data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The data were classified into types of language style. The descriptive analysis of the types of figurative language was conducted to find the function of language style in the novel, and to conclude all discussions related to the language style in the novel Laut Bercerita. The results of this study showed that the types of language style in the novel are simile, litotes, metaphor, repetition, personification, synecdoche, hyperbole, and hypalase. The function of language style in the novel Laut Bercerita is to beautify the sound and narrative, explain the picture, emphasize the narrative or emotion, animate the picture, evoke a certain impression and atmosphere, and describe the feelings of the character. Abstract

Metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran Dokkai (membaca) bahasa Jepang level menengah diharapkan membawa pemelajar untuk belajar secara cepat, aktif, tanggap, dan mandiri dalam menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan. Tujuan penelitian dalam artikel ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran aktivitas serta respon mahasiswa dalam hal persiapan sebelum pembelajaran, ketika pembelajaran PBL berlangsung, serta setelah pembelajaran berlangsung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar wawancara dan lembar observasi. Dari hasil respon mahasiswa, dapat dijelaskan bahwa persiapan sebelum pembelajaran Dokkai dimulai, meliputi persiapan makna kosakata, baca dan makna huruf kanji, serta tata bahasa yang digunakan dalam kalimat. Pemberian wacana oleh pengajar sebelum pembelajaran berikutnya berlangsung tidak berpengaruh pada kesiapan belajar mahasiswa. Karena meskipun materi telah diberikan sebelumnya masih ada mahasiswa yang enggan untuk mempelajarinya terlebih dahulu. Selanjutnya respon mahasiswa ketika aktivitas pembelajaran dengan metode PBL berlangsung membawa nilai positif bagi mahasiswa terutama ketika diskusi dalam kelompok kecil. Pembelajaran dinilai lebih efektif, membuat mahasiswa lebih aktif, cepat, dan belajar mengeluarkan pendapat terlepas dari salah dan tidaknya dalam menyelesaikan penugasan yang diberikan. Melalui PBL, dapat dilihat seberapa besar keaktifan mahasiswa. Sedangkan respon mahasiswa setelah pembelajaran berlangsung disebutkan bahwa aktivitas menceritakan kembali wacana dalam bahasa Jepang masih menjadi hal yang masih sulit dilakukan dikarenakan rasa malu, takut salah dan kurang percaya diri serta keterbatasan dalam kemampuan bahasa Jepang yang dimiliki, sehingga motivasi dari pengajar masih sangat diperlukan. Abstract

Besides being used for exchanging information, language is also used by humans to refer to one thing in a context. Without context, the interlocutor will find difficulties to understand the meaning of the designation expressed by the speaker. In pragmatics, the expression of designation is called deixis. There are four types of deixis, personal diexis, social deixis, time deixis, and place deixis. Personal deixis and social deixis are types of deixis that have a close relationship. This research aims to discuss the relationship between personal deixis and social deixis in the film Cry Me a Sad River《悲伤逆流成河》Bēishāng Nìliú Chénghé by Luo Luo. This research is qualitative research with the data in the form of speech transcripts containing personal deixis and social deixis. The method used is descriptive method. This study used the simak bebas libat cakap technique and note-taking techniques. The following results were obtained: (1) the speech transcripts contained 192 data of personal deixis and 21 data of social deixis. (2) There is a connection between personal deixis and social deixis, namely aspects of social deixis influence the speaker's choice of personal deixis. Abstract

One of the abilities of living beings is to interact with each other. The medium used is language. By using language, one can get to know others through digital programs. Süddeutsche Zeitung, an online newspaper in Germany provides an introduction room that is Heirats- & Bekanntschaftsanzeigen (wedding advertisements and introductions) which has five rubrics. One of the rubrics is Urlaubs-/Freizeitbekanntschaften. This qualitative descriptive research seeks to analyze the nouns and adjectives selected by the authors of the advertisement in the rubric Urlaubs-/Freizeitbekanntschaften.  (Introduction to find people who are willing to accompany in vacation time or leisure time). This kind of rubric is interesting, because it does not yet exist in Indonesia. With the language research method, 15 data from Süddeutsche Zeitung online August 6, 2022, August 13, 2022, and August 20, 2022 were analyzed. The results showed that 50% of work/status nominas were used by ad authors to introduce themselves and more than 75% of ad authors used adjektives that were affixed to nomina in a position as sentence objects in order to get the desired acquaintance. Abstract

This study aims to test the difference in the writing skills of negotiating texts between students who are taught with the group investigation model and students who are taught with discovery learning models (as control) in class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi. The sample in this study was from class X MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngawi with the number of students 36 children and from class X MIPA 2 with the number of students 36 children with two stage random sampling techniques. This study uses an experimental method with a factorial design of 2x2. Data collection is carried out with written test techniques for data writing negotiation skills. Data analysis using techniques: (1) descriptive data analysis; (2) test requirements; and (3) statistically inferential data analysis using two-way anava techniques. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences in student negotiation text writing skills between the Group Investigation (GI) model and the Discovery Learning (DL) model (FA = 72.29 > F0,05;1;68 = 3.98). Students with the Group Investigation learning model has better result than students with discovery learning learning models.
